Sips is a good, quick coffee drive thru in an area that does not have many coffee shops. They have a pretty decent sized menu, including flavored sodas, if you're not in the mood for coffee or tea. Not only do they know me by name, most baristas know my dog's name. Best is I do not need to even order since they know my order and usually have my coffee ready for me when I get to the window. Staff was friendly but when I only had enough for the drink this time around and didn't tip their attitude changed completely instead of getting coffee I received milk and hot water didn't realize until I got home already because it was so hot. We used to stop here for coffee all the time it's been about two years so we decided to get off the freeway to stop in for a drink before continuing on the road what a disappointment. My husbands white mocha tasted like hot water down milk and my iced mocha tasted like chocolate milk. Honestly I wouldn't even be surprised if they left the coffee completely out. We even mentioned to each other while waiting at the window for what seemed to be a bit long "this isn't a very good sign for it to take this long for a cup of coffee". We tried calling but it's just a fax number and since we were already back to the freeway before noticing we just left it but will never return. I'm not a connoisseur of soda drinks, but I do like vanilla in my Diet Coke. I'm telling you, there is something about their vanilla that is different than anywhere else I've tried. I have no idea what they do but it's creamier or stronger....or something. I just can't put my finger on it. So why only three stars? Because every great I've tried their treats, I haven't liked any of them. Also, I've had their amazing vanilla Diet Coke four times. Three of the four were amazing. But the fourth was just your run of the mill vanilla Diet Coke. I'm not sure who screwed that up, but it wasn't special. I'm hoping to go back and try some more things to give this place the four stars it deserves, cuz that Diet Coke was UPDATE: tried the coconut lime cookie. Not that good. There's a place in Layton called twisted sugar that has a coconut lime cookie and it's INCREDIBLE. This one is not. I ordered a hot mocha and a caramel macchiato. The service was subpar and the cashier was rude and unhelpful. We'll get to that in a sec. The mocha tasted like coffee beans breathed on lukewarm milk, and it left a saccharine aftertaste that coated the mouth. It was not good. The caramel macchiato came out at barely room temperature and when I went through the drive through again to ask if they would heat it up I felt like the cashier treated me like I was an idiot. She was the one with amber coloured glass gauges and nose piercing. Apparently they don't actually serve hot beverages, and when you ask them to fix it, you get shat on. I guess it's just not their problem! The macchiato was gross and we had to heat it up at home. It was overpriced for what we received. I didn't pay to get bad coffee and treated like crap. I went down the street to Starbucks and ordered the same mocha for a side by side comparison, and it blew Sip's mocha out of the park. This place mostly does coffee and breakfast type items. I go for the soda. There's good flavor combos. The first and second time I went I needed some suggestions and they were super helpful. My favorite thing about this establishment in particular is how friendly the staff is. They're always positive. The coffee is great I have never had an issue. Even plain black no frills coffee is great! The soda-shop is pretty good too! I wish they'd try their hand in the breakfast burrito game but the food options are great too! Cute little drive-through café just off 2600 S and Main Street in Bountiful. They had a bit of a line when I came through but served my quickly and I had my drink in hand in under 5 minutes. I ordered a Pumpkin Spice oat milk Chai (cause fall ) and it didn't disappoint! You can taste the chai tea, not a powder, more on the sweet side. The pumpkin spice was a bit harder to notice. Overall it was a decent chai. I like mine spice and full of flavor, where I know others who prefer it more mild, sweet and soothing -- this is just that! Great group of high-school aged baristas. I found this when I moved- convenience coffee. Average, but with a drive in to maximize laziness. That increases the appeal. I learned early on that all food items were bought from Costco and repackaged (from workers), etc, so don't get food from there. But the coffee did the job. Until recently. The past 5 or so times the coffee has been lukewarm, and I suspect lattes just heated in the microwave (vs steamed). I also noticed that when I didn't add a tip the past 2 times, it's been worse. They ask you to tip before and I am already hesitant about tipping culture for a drive thru (seriously??), but did because I was a regular. The coffee was worse when a tip wasn't given. Avoid.... I'm not even going to dock stars for the unnecessarily sweet and dry donut holes served with a side of disappointment sauce because this place has my new favorite drink. I am, admittedly, a sodaholic. I am, admittedly, a diet sodaholic. Diet Dr Pepper is my poison of choice and until today, I didn't really see the need to improve on something that was already pretty much perfect. But I've now seen the error of my ways and the "What's Up Doc" has totally expanded my horizons. Coconut and cream blended into the already delicious DDP? Um, yes, please! When I opened the lid of my 44 oz "I don't want to be cured of my disease; I need this much!" cup, I wanted nothing more than to ride the white-crested waves of luscious cream and drown any and all sorrows in the dark, syrupy abyss that is Diet Dr Pepper. Should I try another flavor? Yeah, and at some point I will, but because I'm not from the SLC area, I think I'm gonna stick to this incredible nectar of the gods for the foreseeable future. Any place that can give you a gigantic sweet treat like this, a sweet treat that transports you to the tropics, for mere pennies is a place that deserves some serious accolades. See, I love going to Sips, and I love getting the same thing every time. But they always mess up! And every time I mention that they messed up, we still have to pay for a new one. I'm happy to be able to leave a good review for a local business! There are chain soda shops all around, but this one is closer to my new home, so I tried it out. I was impressed. Since then I've gone to other places and have decided I'll mostly stick with Swig n Sweets. It's definitely better than Fiiz and just as good or better than the other places I've tried. Yes there is a lot of ice, but no more than the other places I've been. And I've come to accept it because soda gets warm so fast and then it's terrible! So lots of ice is necessary. Also, I'm trying to stick with diet soda, which I used to hate. Now I have a few things I like. When you order diet here, they used sugar free syrup automatically. And the syrup doesn't taste diet. I didn't realize this until I went to Fiiz and drank the strangest tasting sugar free syrup! Everything I've had here was good. And the combinations of cream, soda, and flavor is perfect. It doesn't hurt that my kids like the cookies Oh yeah, price is average. And I'm thankful for the drive thru! read more

The drinks are great, the staff is friendly, and the cookies are YUMMMM. Still a bit pricey for me for coffee/tea, but they have to compete with the big chains so I don't mind. I would prefer to swing by this local spot over the big chains anyway. I had a Chai Tea latte and they were great about accommodating my request for a non-dairy option. I ordered the hubby a vanilla latte and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The cookies were soft and chewy and rich and delicious. Nice little treat and easy to get in/out of the location. read more

To summarize....Too much ice and not enough options! Disappointed with this new soda shop option in Bountiful. I predict this place will last about a year and then fizzle into memory. The location is great, but the options are less than other locations and when I asked for "very little ice" I got a cup full of so much ice I maybe had about a 16 oz drink in a 32 oz drink. The flavoring was ok, but more purée options, and fewer syrup options, it also makes Sips more expensive than competitors. Then there is the food - the donut holes were a weird texture and served like warm (guessing they were heated in the microwave). They were not a portable, eat on the road option. To survive against Swig and Fiiz, they will need to be better and have more creative and better tasting options! read more

I live down the street from this shop and I keep going back wanting to support local coffee, but it is not worth the time or money. The wait times are outrageous. Almost 30 minutes this morning for a line of about 5-6 cars. Drink prices are on the higher side and my drinks are frequently just plain not good. Iced coffee that melts the ice before you drink it.
