What impressed me is I showed up exactly when the shop opened and everything was organized--no one running around trying to get settled. I come here about every morning for the last four years. The staff is always friendly, the coffee is always good, and they're always mixing up the menu just a bit. What I really like about it is you can order ahead on the app and it's ready for you when you get there. Love to support this local business. read more

I want to love sip, so badly... the food and coffee are great, but the service is just not up to par. The owner is amazing! Very kind and super knowledgable, however the other staff behave as if they don't want to help at times. A few times I've gone in and they're too busy gossiping or talking to notice customers have arrived. On two separate occasions I've had to remind them Ive ordered food, and am still waiting. I've also heard a handful of inappropriate conversations between staff members when dining-in. Additionally, they tend to run out of avocado quote often.. which is frustrating if you only go for the toast. Once they even put straight up guacamole onto the toast in an attempt to sell it as avocado toast. Another time they suggested I BRING MY OWN AVOCADO...? Not sure why the service is so dicey, but I only go here out of necessity these days, and don't dine in. read more

This is a cozy coffee shop in a plaza. The place is cozy with indoor and outdoor seating, outlets, free wifi and bathroom. This place is somewhere you can camp out from the store's opening to its closing. The drink and food menu are reasonably priced. My cafe of choice whenever I'm in the Fort Lauderdale area. read more

At Sip Java not only can you get various sizes of dishwater, you can get it either hot or cold, light or dark roast and just when you think how did I get so lucky get all this it comes with a side of attitude. Don't bother specifying how much milk or cream you want in your dishwater, the servers don't listen despite that when they came into this world, they are equipped with two ears. Also if you bring in your own cup/mug don't expect the same pricing, that get determines by the server. read more

The Angelino is amazing. Get the 20oz. A lot of ice and enough coffee to wake you up and get your day going. No need to add sugar. I ordered a custom breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. Croissant, cheese, avocado, egg. Service is always fast and pleasant. read more

I love trying new coffee shops on a Saturday morning so with all the great reviews thought this would be a winner. But I was sadly disappointed. I had a mocha latte with gluten free blueberry muffin. I could hardly taste the chocolate and the coffee had no flavor. Nothing to rave about here. Place was packed and noisy. But the blueberry muffin was outrageously good and staff was friendly. read more

First class establishment from a decor and ambiance perspective, the beans are solid, I would need to try some more to say "special", that being said I got a trip shot Expresso elecktra...very good, 9/10. Got breakfast to take to the beach and I was thoroughly impressed. I ordered the good karma coffee, can't say I could taste the vanilla/caramel flavor too intensely but the coffee was absolutely perfect the way it was. I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich as well. Sometimes cafes put fried eggs on their sandwiches and refuse to prepare them another way. But when I asked how they prepare their eggs, the gentleman helping us responded happily with "how would you like them?" I got them scrambled and I loved the sandwich. Service was quick. Coffee: Excellent. I ordered a cold brew and my wife ordered an Electric Shock. They were great! The Electric Shock, especially, was a find. Food: Both of us got variants on the avocado toast. My wife bought the Greek toast and I had the Lox, both with eggs. It took about 40 minutes to get the bread, and it wasn't warm; we did ask about timeframe so that we could go, you know, do real life. In the end, we just had to ask for a box for our cold toast. Tiny portions; less-than-fresh bread. I can't say I'd recommend the toast. read more

fantastic! everything i was looking for: good coffee (i had the iced coffee; they gave an extensive list and everything looks good), breakfast items (and lunch sandwiches), ample space for work (inside and outside), plenty of outlets (LOVE this), easy to access and reliable wifi. accessible bathroom too. friendly staff who didn't mind me camping out for 3 hours (!!). i will come back and tell friends to come here. there seemed to be a steady stream of regulars, plus those dropping by for a quick coffee / food. solid people watching here :) come visit and experience it for yourself! read more

Great south Florida coffee spot. Indoor and outdoor seating, wifi, chill vibe. Interesting spinoffs of the usual latte selections: Electric Shock (vanilla caramel with cinnamon) was really nice if not incredibly shocking. They have allll the milk options: almond, soy, coconut, cashew milk. Sandwiches/croissants Pretty basic egg and cheese, paninis with cheese and avocado. It would be nice to see some additional sandwich variations here...if I came often I could see getting tired of the unimaginative pastry spread. But hey when avocado is this popular I guess why reinvent the wheel? read more

When I heard that Brew closed it's doors at this location I wasn't too concerned - they had really neglected it after the C&I location opened up. I figured another cool biz would open in it's place and I was right! I'm glad a big chain didn't snatch this location up. Instead we got another independent coffee spot in BPB! Awesome! I came in during the later part of the afternoon. The place was really packed - no where to sit really. There were all the usual characters: folks chatting each other up, others clicking on laptop keys and some simply reading while sipping their coffee. I went with an iced mocha - and it was solid. They use great coffee and the drink wasn't overly sweet. Really friendly/quick staff. Parking seemed a little more difficult than it used to be - possibly because the place was packed. But it's a large lot, so you are sure to find a space. read more

Sip Java is my favorite coffee shop in Fort Lauderdale. They are located in a shopping center on US1, just a few minutes north of the Las Olas area. There is always ample parking. Even with the current social distancing rules they have ample seating space, both indoors and outdoors. The cashiers are always friendly, and most know the menu well. They have several varieties of non-dairy milk such as soy and almond. You can expect to pay around $4-$5 for a specialty coffee, but the price is worth it as they are the best in the Fort Lauderdale area. If you order food, they give you a number to take to your table, and the food is brought out to you. The food is every bit as good as the coffee, especially the breakfast sandwiches. Several (but not all) of the tables have large surge protectors nearby to plug in electronics. There is a bookshelf in the back of the store with a small collection of books for those interested. TLDR: my favorite coffee shop in the Fort Lauderdale area, 5/5! read more

Great coffee spot, have been going for a year roughly. Can't recommend this place enough if you are looking for a low key cafe vibe. Other coffee spots are just too industrial or busy for my liking. Staff is wonderful there, food is more for small bites than a full meal. I highly recommend the continental sandwich. read more

Will not be back. We live right around the corner so wanted to try out local coffee shop. The girl behind the counter didn't know what a Nitro cold brew was, despite it being on menu. Then, she asked ME how to make it?! Another girl came over and exclaimed they actually don't have it anymore (no signs anywhere and STILL ON OVERHEAD menu. Not to worry, I'll just change my order. Well, she couldn't do a refund, and the nitro was 1.25 more expensive than a regular cold brew (mind you, I bought 3)... so they asked if I could buy other things to account for the difference???? What?! Are you kidding me? Super unprofessional and will be taking my money elsewhere. read more

After a large meal, my husband and I were stuffed to sleepiness. So we checked out Sip Java to get an evening pick me up. I ordered a Cortado and he ordered the Cappuccino. As our drinks were made, I checked out the menus and what food they offered. Their prices look great for decent sized sandwiches. I was checking out the bakery case when I noticed a very large amount of fruit flies or drain flies floating around the food. Yikes. The drinks were great and I love the decor and the relaxing atmosphere. One table has a huge collection of board games underneath to play. The flies trapped in the food case worries me, but the prices are decent, the drinks were good and the staff was nice. read more

The drinks here were good, nothing negative to say but also not my favorite coffee, but this is just one girl's personal preferences. I rated 3/5 because there was nothing spectacular about the food and the prices of course were up there- to be fair, their prices are most likely in line with most coffee shops. The minor issue we had here was when my boyfriend wanted more salt on his avocado toast so I went to the counter to ask for salt and a couple of the hipsters working there giggled and seemed to be making comments about us asking for salt... Not the most offensive thing to happen to a person in this world but still... Overall, perfect fine little shop for coffee and a snack. read more

My boyfriend and I come here on a regular basis, and not only because it's close by. There are many coffee shops to choose from, so why should you come here? I'll tell you why. The customer service is awesome. The staff is very friendly and remembers you and your orders. I ordered the traditional latte. It was roasted and very bold. I like my coffee strong so that was great. Loved the atmosphere here. They have plenty of tables and couches where you can sit and enjoy your coffee or get some work done. There is also an outdoor seating area. Service is great, baristas are friendly and are happy to make suggestions. I loved the modern feel to it, not to mention that it is bright. Also, they have family games under some of the tables (e.g. Monopoly, Scrabble, etc) great for when you are coming with a group of friends. For now, I only gave it a 4 star since it is mostly based on their service and only one drink. I will have to come back to try the other drinks and also the pastries. Next time I will try their avocado toast since someone mentioned those were excellent. And plus I love avocados!! By the way, for those who said they don't have wifi, they do. You just have to ask for their password. read more

Came here on a Sunday and the staff was very helpful and patient since it was our first time here. I had the Good Karma drink and it was delicious. My daughter and I shared the avocado toast and the bread was so tasty and hearty. My other daughter had a BLT, which wasn't on the menu but they were happy to make for her. She had it on ciabatta bread and she loved it. They have outdoor seating which is a plus for us during the pandemic. read more

The Angeleno was amazing. It consists of milk, espresso, agave, and ice. It might just be the best iced coffee beverage I've ever had. I didn't have to make any adjustments. It had the perfect balance of sweetness. They didn't douse the drink with milk, like most other places. The espresso was bold throughout every sip. If it was practical, this would be my daily pick-me-up. Definitely getting my fix when I'm in the area though. read more

I have only ordered online (Delivery Dudes) and unfortunately have not made it into the restaurant. They have a great selection of coffees, breakfast sandwiches and pasties. I am obsessed with their ABJ! The almond butter is creamy and they use actual whole blueberries What a concept! The Angeleno coffee sweetened with agave is delicious! I was in the plaza picking up dinner when I stumbled upon this gem! First impression: spacious and instant thoughts of bringing my laptop to do some work because of all the cozy chairs. Order: I ordered a spicy chai latte with soy milk and it was extremely good. They mean it when they say it's spicy due to the hints of ginger. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I feel like non dairy milk shouldn't be costing $0.80 cents more than if I were to just get regular milk. It's always a plus when the coffee shop offers it at no charge. A bit on the pricier side, but then again the regular size looks like a large, so....it's however you want to look at it! Overall, I'd definitely be back to do some work and just sip on some lattes. Looking forward to trying the matcha latte next visit! read more

Every single person in line ahead of me was greeted warmly. I even heard the cashier having a conversation with a customer about college and how exciting it'll be, which I thought was really sweet. Service is an energetically taxing job, so seeing someone be that warm and engaging with every person made me feel like I was about to have a great experience too. The second I walked up? She didn't look me in the eye once. I greeted her, asked how she was, and got a very boilerplate response that, in tone, felt like "please hurry up and give me your order." It was jarring, especially after seeing how warm she had been with everyone else. I wasn't looking for a full conversation, but from the moment I said hello, I felt like I was bothering her. I left feeling noticeably unwelcome in comparison to everyone before me. The drink I had was okay, which matters, but honestly, how a place makes you feel matters more. I'm sure this review is a drop in the ocean, but it's something I'll definitely be sharing with friends and family if they're considering trying Porfa.

I work nearby, so I just strolled in during my lunch break for a little midday pick-me-up. The staff is pleasant and helpful. My only suggestion is to perhaps have an allergens list for the individual baked goods. I tried to ask the staff about whether some of the treats contained nuts (in particular, the s'mores bar, and the chocolate chip cookie) as I have a peanut allergy (tree nuts are okay). There was a bit of a language barrier and the staff seemed unsure, and tried to err on the side of caution (which I appreciate). However, knowing that a s'mores bar or a chocolate chip cookie is unlikely to contain actual peanuts, I was a little frustrated because it would have been okay for me personally if it was simply that the baked goods were "processed in a factory that manufactures peanut products". Those trace amounts normally don't affect me. I feel like this was likely the case, but again, I'm glad that they just proceeded with an abundance of caution. I settled for a cheese danish even though I was really after a chocolate craving. Good on the staff for being cautious, disappointing for me that I couldn't cater to my chocolate craving. Oh well. I also ordered a Get Green smoothie, which was refreshing and delicious. The coconut water makes it super hydrating. Whether you're staying at the Del Mar hotel or just work nearby and want a little treat, this spot is a great place to stop in.
