We've been getting ice cream almost every day and trying to get out ice cream from locally owned ice cream shops. Here in Conway we had been going to Trails End Ice Cream which serves up locally made ice cream with HUGE portions. On this particular day we had stopped at a local bakery to get some cupcakes and since Ben and Jerry's was located next door, we decided we would just get ice cream there. We lined up all the kids to place their orders but were shocked when they pulled out one micro cup and put the smallest scoop of ice cream in it that I had ever seen. On top that they wanted to charge over $6 for that mini scoop. We paid for the one scoop and quickly left and made the five minute drive to Trails End Ice Cream where the super mega scoop is only $4 and a double scoop (which is over a pint of ice cream) is only $6. I'm not complaining about the quality of the ice cream at Ben and Jerry's, but the super small portions are way overpriced, particularly when a much better alternative (Trails End Ice Cream) is only five minutes away. Save your money and avoid this particular Ben and Jerry's and drive down to Trails End Ice Cream and get freshly made local ice cream at reasonable prices.

Which she had to put us on hold as she forgot her ordering pad. No biggie. We both ordered an avalanche meal and ordered side home fries. SHE told Both of us multiple times that it was included in meal even thought it wasn't written on menu. Ok cool bargin. My wife ordered coffee. She leaves goes back to playing with dog. Then comes out with food. No coffee. No home fries. We wait for her to come back ask for them both she goes snd gets them. If it's part of meal why wouldn't be on plate but I didn't want to argue with her about her menu. The table next to us had coffee with fresh cream our late coffee we were only offered the mini plastic cups repackaged ones. Ok still trucking. Home fries come out super bright orange looking super seasoned and literally only tasted like gardening soil. Dirty potatoes cut and mashed up with paprika and put in a cup. Literal DIRT taste. Ok now I need to wash this down I had to ask her for a refill on my toddler water. She brings me another cup out this time no ice. I don't know if I've ever gotten a drink at a restaurant given with no ice after coming out with it or not requested. I don't know if she was distracted or checked out but again I don't say anything. Then the check comes. The bill is written on paper old school style so can't understand anything and it is about $10 more than should have been. Why did she charge us for the two home fries that she said were included!?!? I don't want bad energy or ruin day going back and forth with this lady just swipe my card and get away from this place. Why is there then an added upcharge for paying with card that was never listed or told prior to swiping!?!? I don't know why this place always has a line or is so busy. I wish I got her name but of course she never gave it! What an embarrassing experience. I've never not wanted to leave a tip before ever but I wanted to today (and I didn't). We've been coming here each year now while on our annual vacation in the Valley since they opened. This time we stopped in for lunch as soon as we arrived to the area. The menu has all the classics plus a few interesting specialty and fusion dishes. Mango lassi is delicious and refreshing. Boyfriend likes to get the boozy drinks, this time going with the spiked chai. For food we got onion bhaji, chili paneer, chili garlic naan, paneer butter masala and saag paneer. Per usual, the food was very tasty. We always make sure to request our dishes to be spicy at every Indian establishment we go to, and here they do deliver on that. The butter masala was very rich and smooth in addition to being around our preferred heat level. The saag was delicious as well, chock full of greens with an earthy flavor while also at our favorite spice level. Onion bhaji was crispy. Naan was tasty though I wish there was a little bit more of it. However the chili paneer was a massive portion. Haveli is overall a good choice in the Valley.
