This place is punk rock heaven on earth. If you like good, underground music this is the place for you. Their record collection is well organized and priced well. rarer stuff is of course pricier but worth every penny. The guy that runs the store is good people. Music stop at this punk rock collectable and record shop that we stumbled upon by accident called Singles Gone Steady. The store looks like your punk rock friend's basement suite covered in Xeroxed and old school punk posters and handbills of varying nature. There is a huge selection of punk records, 45 and knick knacks all with sub genres. They have a few things that aren't of punk nature for the person who ends up being the tag along for the punk fan. I couldn't find anything that was on my list 'cause what I wanted was really good and rarely does anyone give stuff up like the Stiff Little Fingers or Gang of Four. The guy at the til was really friendly and nice and had a fun sarcastic personality. Prices for everything were very reasonable. read more

Really great punk record store that rivals the best of the East Coast. Wide selection of vinyl of all genres too. The owner is not a jerk. I love it when I can chat up a record store clerk and have a nice convo about mutual likes rather than get Simpsons comic book guy style attitude. I bought a Still Little Fingers 7" here. Hooray, punk collectible heaven! Picked up Black Flag's "Nervous Breakdown" and "Six Pack" 7" vinyls here along with a ton of other goodies. Counter guy was great to talk to and the atmosphere is awesome. Lots of old posters all over the walls and original vinyls going back to the beginnings of the punk sound along with plenty of new LPs. Something for everyone old and new and I love it all. If I lived in Seattle I'd probably blow way too much of my money here. read more

Friendly staff and a great selection of old VHS tapes and pins/badges. The old punk and new wave 45s are great but overpriced.

Great hole-in-the-wall record shop catering to punk and hardcore fans (though what did I buy? Bowie's "Low". Not exactly fitting the genres). Great feel to the place, I could have spent hours rummaging through the place (including the comic books strewn about). read more

Singles is a Seattle landmark and even if i don't find anything i was looking for, i still leave happy. This place has also been used in a movie called Edge Of Quarrel. Funny movie, check it out! Anyway, Singles has more punk than you can handle and plenty of hardcore. I do tend to find some good Metal and Rock as well. I used to come here every time i would visit from Spokane for a show. It was a main priority of places i had to stop by because we didn't really have a place like Singles then. I still make my regular visits since moving to Seattle and love to drop by just for the vibe it puts off. If you love vinyl, punk, hardcore, and some old fashioned metal, then stop by here and say hi. Good place to be. read more

I've been coming to this place for over 10 years and it rarely fails to have something to soothe my craving. This place is punk as fuck. A leather jacket and safety pins grew on me the minute I finally found that chumbawamba record i have been lazily in search of for years! The musical God behind the counter opened my eyes to bands i never knew existed. My music horizons now know no limits. My wallet exploded its contents to satisfy my record craving at his commands and recommendations. His dark piercing judgmental eyes are engraved into my soul. Sadly only 4 which I can only explain with a classic. "Isn't it ironic? Don't ya think? It's like meeting the man of your dreams...then meeting his beautiful wife.." I'm not really punk in the way that most of this store's audience is, I'm more of the post-punk from day one type, but that doesn't mean this isn't a 5-star establishment. For one, they have enough etc for me to have walked away with a Teardrop Explodes album replacement which was cheaper than the original. Two, they have a thoughtful breadth of microgenres that shows that they're truly about the music, even if it's music I don't like. Three, it's in Belltown, the quickest seedy-to-yuppie neighborhood that looks like it has soul but is entirely hollow. I feel like this shop and me are the only two normal things in the hood. read more

Seattle has a bunch of great record stores, but Singles is the best at what it does--feature a wide variety and depth of catalog with new and used punk records and CDs. My favorite record store bar none. I rarely get to stop in since i moved south, but everytime i roll through, everyone is super friendly and i always find way more than anticipated. Love this place.... best place to find punk, metal, crust, d-beat, hardcore records. They owners don't treat you like a moron if you don't know every single band and history of every sub culture... not snobs at all... as a matter of fact, they are awesome at recommending stuff similar to your taste and even offering things you might have never thought to listen to before. I love this store. It has the best and biggest selection of indie and punk vinyl in all of Seattle and a knowledgeable staff of unpretentious music freaks. Some of the best music conversations I've ever overheard have happened here. They'll also order just about anything you want if it isn't in stock. Only complaint? Street parking only. read more

I came to Seattle as a tourist and wondered by this amazing store. They have a great collection of various punk cds and vinyls. The two guys at the front helped me out a lot and thoroughly looked for the pins I asked for. They were both really nice. What absolutely just made my whole day at Seattle, one of the guys gave me two free pins and a free magnet. It was just so sweet and they are so awesome for that so much appreciated. Astounding, this shop gets five stars across the board. Scored on an abundance of LP's from hardcore to metal... and some quite rare ones I may add, Minor Threat and Metal Church to name a few... And the prices were beyond reasonable... with heavy emphasis on "beyond". In addition, the guy (clerk/owner?) gave a generous discount with the aggregate of vinyl I purchased, and was very courteous and willing to answer any questions I had. Even shared a laugh regarding the beginning scene from Penelope Spheeris' Decline of Western Civilization... one of the quintessential punk films of the early eighties, and of all time. Nowhere else in Seattle will you find a crust section. That is worth 5 stars alone. Fairly small place but filled to the gills with punk, hardcore, indie rock and even a little metal. They also carry zines, patches, t-shirts, spiked armbands, collars and even a few videos. If your not into punk or the many sub-genres you may not find what you want here. They carry music form around the world. For me.. it is perfect. I can easily spend more than my budget's worth in less than a half hour without sifting through crap. read more

Great little punk rock store... white on black patches, old school punk rock flyers, all for a buck. Has a great selection of punk, reggae, thrash, industrial... The place to find hard to find... I picked up rare DEVO, RAS MICHAEL & the SELECTORS all in mint for under $20 bucks each. It's like going back in time to 1994 and visiting those rare shops in Athens, Atlanta, or Portland. 1994 prices too! 7" inches everywhere, 10" too.
