The mandatory velvet Elvis painting complete with fancy frame. On the shelves, all sorts of ceramic mugs, including my favorite, a breast shaped cup. It makes me feel like a kid again just thinking about it. The bartender was funny and knowledgeable, we had a quick chat on how to make a great Old Fashion, ignite the citrus! Wider than a single wide should be, but that just makes for more space in which people can enjoy themselves. The bar itself is laid out sort of like Ships with a long bar on the left as you enter and a few small tables at the back. They have two pinball type machines in the back, and, more importantly, a megatouch machine at the end of the bar. You know what that means - erotic photo hunt! They have it, and it's only $1 for 4 credits, 1 credit a game. If you get a high score above 400,000, you get a free credit! They have all the Doublewide drink staples - yoohoo yehaw, whiskey pickle, hurritang, well drinks, 'domestic' beers in cans. Wells and domestics are $2 M-F til 9pm, same deal as at Doublewide. Bartenders here are just as friendly, as are the folks drinking here. On Wednesday nights they have a free bingo setup starting at 7pm. It goes on basically the rest of the night. You don't have to be on time to play - just grab a bingo card at the front when you come in. Prizes range in awesomeness, but the basic prize is some candy and a free drink ticket, so that's not so bad. What I didn't care for was this vibe that it made it feel like it was trying to be a dark, dingy dive bar but it was just decorated like that. I was in Dallas visiting a friend who recently moved there and, as we are lovers of dive bars, she brought me here because it's reminiscent of one of our favorites in Pittsburgh. The space is small but it wasn't too busy, despite it being Friday evening. The menu of specials was absolutely hilarious, and pretty much everything involves Tang in some way or another. My friend recommended the Yoohoo Yeehaw; whoever wrote that it is a "liquified adult fudgesicle" nailed it. The drink consists of Yoohoo, vanilla vodka, and coffee liqueur. And it certainly packs a punch! I enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere. The bartenders were both friendly and attentive. I'd probably make this a regular stop if I lived in the area. read more

Hit this place on a night of bar hopping with friends. The place is a bit tacky and definitely creepy. Lots of taxidermed animals, KISS/ Elvis/ naked women pictures paraphernalia. The bartenders were super nice, attentive and great at explaining their custom drinks. The made drinks efficiently and regularly came around to clean up empty drinks scattered in the room. We found an empty table past the bar and hung for a couple hours. The place was never overt crowded but was lively. The prices for my mixed drinks were slightly cheaper then other places. the only down side was the bathroom. I was disgustingly gross. There was only 1 room and it stunk. This place seems like a place where bikers hang out. Nothing wrong with that at all! The only issue I had was it was very small (occupancy of 67) and very loud. It was literally the bar, a small walking area and that's pretty much it. On top of that, the bathroom is unisex and boys can be pretty grody. The drinks here are unique. I would highly recommend the yoohoo yeehaw. Imagine a yoohoo slush with vodka. Yum. They also have karaoke here so if that's what you're into, you've found the spot! read more

From the outside this place does not look all that enticing & to be honest the only real reason I walked into this bar was because it was on a bar crawl. With that being said, the moment I walked into the place I regretted having never been before. The atmosphere and decor of the place is awesome. (you have been forewarned, there are quite a bit of taxidermied animals scattered throughout). The place itself is quite small so things can get cramped. There are a few tables in the back and some seating at the bar, so you may be standing when you come to enjoy a drink. They do have some cool specialty drinks, including one with Yoohoo. Unfortunately, I did stick with a simple cider while I was there. I will most definitely be returning to this bar in the future and will be trying one of their specialty drinks. read more

This is a great improvement to the former Winedale. They got rid of the pool table, it's much roomier and added more color to the place. I'm glad they don't open at 7am anymore. Yahoo YEHAWWW Literally the main reason I come here... Ever been to DB's in Austin? Its like a cleaner less wild version of that. Lots of nice hipster dudes in denim/leather jackets with lots of patches, drinking some sort of craft beers and trying to list bands they've never heard of standing out side. But their nice and seem only slightly judgmental about my collared shirt. Once inside, it is a clean nice little dive bar with semi quiet music. friendly and attentive bartenders who actually make very good drinks. However, I can not order anything but a yahoo yehawww when I go.... Remember those tasty chocolate beverages as kids, well now its frozen and spiked with alcohol. ERRMAHHGURDDD... Its so good and fairly priced. I always recommend at least one when having a night on lower Greenville. read more

This can be a good or bad thing: They have a small menu of drinks to choose from and I had trouble finding a menu to pick from. The staff is very welcoming so that's a huge plus. I ended up getting their Yoo-Hoo drink which is the only drink option I'm familiar with because of their Double Wide location. As always, I recommend the Yoo-Hoo drink. I love the atmosphere here. Near the entrance, there is a table where you can sit at and peek outside. There's the bar area where you can sit at. There's also an area near the back with plenty of seating and few tables. I loved the seating area. I definitely plan to come back here but perhaps when it's not so busy. read more

That is, if your granny lived in a single wide trailer and smoked and drank a lot (uh, I'm guilty on 2/3 of those)... What could be better? I love all the redneck dranks... If 'kitsch' could be bottled and released into the world, this is what it would look like. Awesomely tacky velvet looking paintings with topless pin-ups adorn the walls that are covered in the obnoxious floral pattern you find in your grandma's house that hasn't been renovated since 1972. Everything about this bar is delightfully tacky -down to their Texas 'trashy' Mama's Mixes cocktails. Particularly, the Yoohoo Yeehaw - a tasty Yoohoo spirit spiked with some vodka. Sugar overload was my initial thought after reading the ingredients of this delectable drink, but no - it's actually a refreshingly light bevvie with a slight chocolate undertone. The vodka is barely identifiable...just how I like it...dangerous! Next up on my gratuitous happy hour agenda was the Boone's Farm Martini. That's right...Boone's Farm - doesn't get more trailer park than that. The best part...it's rimmed in colorful pixie stick sugar. Just in case it wasn't tacky enough. The staff is wonderful and eclectic all at once. I am insanely happy that Lower Greenville has reached the end of its temporary destructive construction to allow not only for additional parking, but also the benefits of curb appeal to all the fantastic local businesses that deserve all of Dallas's love and support! read more

This place is a perfectly trashy little addition to lower Greenville... to tell you the truth I'd more expect it to be in Deep Ellum, so its refreshing I suppose. "Tang" related drinks seem to be all the rage and they even have a Yoohoo drink here. We packed em in for a going away party and took over the end of the trailer, I mean bar. I like the way this little spot lights up inside at night and its got that trailer thing down. I don't always visit dive bars, but when I do, I choose Single Wide. This is one of my favorite dives on Lower Greenville. It's been a stop on my Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl the past two years and will likely make it to a third year. Facility: If you're not looking for it, you may miss it. Keep your eyes peeled. It's a small narrow space with kitschy trailer park themed decor. You can squeeze through alongside the bar and sit at one of the few tables in the back if there's no space at the bar. It tends to get packed. If you aren't lucky enough to find a spot on Greenville in front of the bars and restaurants, head to the lot behind the nearby 7-11 which is a very short walk. Drinks/Service: Bartenders and door guys are always super chill and attentive. As usual, my drink of choice is whiskey. However, I have tried the signature frozen Yoohoo Yee-haw on many occasions. It's a tricky drink. The super sweet tootsie roll flavor masks all the well vodka. Proceed with caution! read more

I cut my teeth, alcoholically speaking, on Greenville. In the 80's at places like Tango, Greenville Bar & Grill, Nick's Uptown and On The Air; and in the 90's working bars like Fish Dance and Arcadia. But lets face it. Greenville has seen better days. Nevertheless, some brave establishments seeking a return of the days of glory have staked their claims along this storied boulevard of late, and have begun to garner a following. Bars like The Libertine, and now Single Wide. Single Wide is right. This slim space along Greenville across from the Libertine is about two persons wide at the choke-point created by the bar. There is a smallish seating area if you can get around that choke-point, but there are no cocktail waitresses, so be forewarned. The drink selection is about the same as their Deep Ellum counterpart, including some interesting signature drinks like the Boone's Farm Martini - Boone's Farm/gin/vermouth, shaken, poured into a martini glass whose rim has been dusted with the contents of a pixie stick. It was like drinking in a Hunter S. Thompson novel. So if you somehow found somewhere to park along Greenville, give the Double Wide's little sister a visit! And be sure and check in on Yelp to get your free Single Wide beer coozi!! read more

The beautifully snaggletoothed little sister of the world famous Double Wide. Just like it's older sister....this bar is stocked full of great bartenders who are family...hell some of the bartenders pull double duty at both bars. That's like seeing both your rich grandparents on Christmas day! Drinks are cheap and the crowd is tolerable.....you do have to deal with the occasional uppity asshole who feels like he's slumming it outside of uptown...but that's ok...he can silently judge all the mustachioed and bearded dudes laughing at him cause he's shoved in a "weird nook or cranny" It's called Single Wide for a reason...it's a shotgun style layout just like trailer that I grew up in for the first 8 years of my life. If you don't like rubbing shoulders with others or making friendly conversation...don't come here. This is a must stop on your "Sunday Funday" ---- i've had many a Sunday pantless here with the other regulars - singing karaoke (badly i might add) Let's take Sundays out of the equation.....this is still fantastic place to come any time of the week.....grab a beer (or a hot toddy if it's cold) and sit on the benches outside and judge people walking by to your hearts content. read more

My first visit to the Singlewide was last week...I am already very familiar with the Doublewide, its sister bar, so I was curious to see what they did with the small space. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the decor was just as eclectic and yes, just as "tacky". I always dig velvet paintings, too... All in all, a really cute little place. Parking was remarkably easy, too...a plus! How can I say no to a drink called "Yoohoo Yeehaw?" I like chocolate-flavored beverages, so this one was right up my alley. It's like a White Russian with only half the guilt, and the same amount of alcoholic yumminess! Afterwards, I went for a Hurritang, which is basically a Hurricane with Tang instead of OJ. Oh-yes! LOVE THIS PLACE!! Mike the bartender is the tits, he makes me gin and sour drink PERFECT every time, which no one else can seem to do right, so I'm super impressed with this bar! The Single Wide was hole 7 on a now much regretted game of bar golf that I played in. It was my first time to be at this location, but I've always been a P1 of the Double Wide. As the name dictates, yes this location is smaller and maybe a third of the bar size of the double wide. The scene here is one part dive bar and nine parts hipster. The drinks? Well, they're about one part dive bar and nine parts hipster. Highly recommended for a midday drink on a hot Texas Sunday. 8/10. read more

The humor is in the details. A few other nice touches that I haven't seen mentioned in any other reviews were the shotgun shell x-mas lights, the quilts used as drapes, the ripped nogahide bar stools, the lawn chairs in the small patio area, and the interesting taxidermy (fish eating other fish). Had a nice time while we were there. They were singing karaoke on a Sunday afternoon. The host was pretty funny, and the hipsters were singing some awkward 80's tunes. It was pretty entertaining. The bartender was very friendly (Allen, I think) and made sure to introduce himself and get our names so he could call us by our names. The Yoo Hoo drink that I've seen mentioned in other reviews is indeed delicious. If this bar was in my hometown, I'd probably be a regular. After I got some different clothes and maybe a funny hat to blend in with the hipsters of course. If it were in my hometown though, I don't think it would be full of hipsters, I think the clientele would match the theme. read more

Wednesday night is bingo night from 7-midnight at the singlewide, which means leisurely rounds of free bingo starting at 7, drink specials (i.e. $2 wells and cans) until 9 pm, great prizes, and laidback fun. You can find a bar full of patrons on this night, so come early. The space is small though, so it doesn't fit more than about 75 folks in the most cramped situation. The bar is long and narrow, so if you are claustrophobic, this may not be the place for you. But if you want to enjoy some super cheap drinks in addition to the specialty drinks (yoohoo yeehaw), and try to win more free drinks through bingo-ing, then this is a chill, wednesday night bar spot! read more

This is quite obviously the "little sister" to the Double Wide and brings all the things you love- tacky furnishings,crazy drinks(had the Boone's Farm Martini-love the pixie stick dusting they put on the rim), great bartenders. I love walking down Greenville and seeing a front patio that has lawnchairs and plastic tables as their decor! Finally a place that I can truly feel at home! Cozy is not the right word. Cozy makes me think of grandmothers, blankets, and sometimes being slightly stifled (no offense to my grandmothers). Single Wide- as the name implies is a narrow slot on Greenville Ave. But it's not cozy. It's more badass-pawnshop-bestfriend's-basement hangout.
