I struggle with a lot of insecurities growing up, so taking lessons on singing was really something out of my comfort zone. But I can happily say that taking lessons from Sherry was one of the best decisions I've made for myself. I am not taking lessons with her expecting to become a superstar or a professional singer. I am simply learning for the sake of the experience and to better myself in a new field that is foreign to me. But honestly, I do believe that with more practice and lessons, she CAN make anyone into an amazing singer! Sherry is a very talented, patient, and a supportive teacher! While attending her lessons, I've never felt forced or stressed out and she always said the right things to motivate me to improve. Taking singing lessons was very therapeutic for me because I felt an improvement in my social confidence, outlook, expressiveness, and especially my breathing and pronunciation (I've never knew that I was breathing wrong until after my lessons o_o). Sherry will provide her students with the opportunity to sing in front of an audience after a good amount of lessons. As scary as it sounds, it actually isn't bad at all. Sherry's students are unique and wonderful individuals that are very encouraging of one another. I met Sherry about a year ago when I was looking for a singing teacher to help coach me into performing for my husband on our wedding day. Since I have never been on stage before, I need a great professional coach to help my stage presence and to improve my voice in a matter of weeks. Sherry was very kind, supportive and knowledgeable. A couple of years ago, I started challenging myself to do something new. For 2019, I decided to challenge myself to get back into singing. I previously taken lessons in my 20s, but Sherry has really helped me improve! She has helped me listen to little nuances in songs that I never really noticed. My voice is stronger and my breathing is improving every week! She also has recitals which I would encourage anyone to participate. I'm sure a lot of us have done karaoke, but it's not the same. My teenage son started singing lessons with a talented man who was not very "in sync" with kids. We switched to Sherry and she has been great! She is kind, explains things in a non-threatening way, tailors the lesson to my son's needs, and gently guides him to do better. My son wants to be in musical theater, which is Sherry's specialty. Sherry is amazing! My 13 year old son has been studying with Sherry for a year and has greatly improved in technique and performance ability. In the first half of every lesson, she teaches the Bel Canto style, which helps the student develop vocal quality and range. The second part of the lesson focuses on song repertoire and performance.
