The cone is made out of something like a croissant. It's not bad but it's not really practical. It's not possible to hold this cone so it's placed in a cup and then that cup is placed in another cup. So it's really hard to eat the cone part and the ice cream melted so much because of the heat so it was just a big mess. Random note, I now like almond slices on ice cream. Never really cared for putting nuts on food before, but it has a really nice crunch. It was clean with music that wasn't too loud and room to sit down and enjoy our treat. If you are getting one of the cones you need to eat it there otherwise it will be completely melted by the time you get where ever you're going.

At their suggestion we all 3 went to the Silver spoon ice cream shop I'm Wildwood Mo. The selections were good and some of the names hilarious. Our Waitstaff person was great, she greeted us as we entered and answered any and all questions and even helped with a few suggestions. I had a sundae at $11.50, with vegan extra mint choc chip, the taste was amazing! Of course there were toppings galore, but i settled for oreos , hot fudge and whip cream and nuts. A perfect treat for my day. There are some really nicely done pieces of artwork on the walls all depicting ice cream and as we were sitting there eating, we watched the very talented young lady working at the establishment drawing out and painting another art piece. So if you need an ice cream fix and are out near Wildwood I recommend you stop at Silverspoon and enjoy.

I chose a sundae instead of concrete cause I wanted to taste the caramel a bit more. My only request would be that they put some caramel sauce on the bottom of the bowl before the ice cream. The first thing I noticed when I walked through the door was the pie case. It was "seat yourself," so I decided to sit at the counter. I was acknowledged and waited on right away. They have menus, but I didn't really need one because of the lighted display boards on the wall above the counter. Originally, I was going to order ice cream but decided on a slice of coconut cream pie and a cup of coffee. Not many people were ordering coffee, so I got a fresh pot. The pie crust was flaky while the filling was rich and creamy. My only regret is that I didn't have enough room to order a slice of peach crumb pie, too. Young's features the piecrete which is a slice of pie blended with soft-serve ice cream. Some of the pie is reserved for the topping. (I will definitely have to try one of those!) Also, on my "to-try" list is the chicken basket. The chicken is given a saltwater rinse (brining), before being breaded and cooked in a pressure fryer. While chicken is what they are famous for, I would say it's their friendly, top-notch service that accounts for their repeat business and longevity. Not many restaurants have been in business for over 70 years! If your travels take you to Valley Park, this place is a must stop. Be sure to check out the photos and memorabilia.
