The coaches there were great at actually taking the time to invest in teaching you how to throw, and they were very fun and enthusiastic with everyone in attendance. We were greeted at the front desk with the same friendliness and enthusiasm. The boards here were also so much better than any other I've attended. They weren't all beat up, allowing us to land more throws. I'd have to say they had my favorite axes too. They also have multiple different sizes of axes for you to try. My favorite part was that they had different types of scoring games for us to try, rather than the same scoring setup over and over. They also awarded the winner with Mardi gras beads as a trophy for each game. I would choose this place every time from this point toward, when going axe throwing. You won't regret it!

We arrived a little before our time and signed the waiver on their iPad. After a few minutes wait, they brought us to our lane. Our coach was Sophie and she was great! She gave us a tutorial and let us practice as she watched us gave us critique and help. The hour went by presto quick, but it was so much fun. I wouldn't say it was crowded, but most all lane were being used. They sell water, soda and beer. I'm not really sure what the food policy is as I didn't see anyone have any. My only advice is be prepared to wait a few minutes when you get there as they need to do their changeover and move the previous group out.

After about 2 years away, time for an update. I go here…read morefrequently for the driving range. It's open more often than Fort Mill Golf Club just 4 miles away. Today I played the front nine with a 130p tee time, it was 87 degrees and 60% humidity so it was not ideal weather but not unbearable for just 9 holes. Even though Hurricane Debby had blown through four days before dropping 4 inches of rain in Fort Mill, it had dried quickly and conditions were good. It was cart path only on the #5 hole. Built in 2001 and designed by Clyde Johnston, this is the most updated and modern of all the 4 Leroy Springs courses. It's a challenging course which will test your mid-iron game requiring strategic strategy off the tee and approach shots. They have GPS on all the electric carts, a nice large driving range where you can hit off grass and mats as well as a designated chipping area with a small bunker and a large putting green. Really nice ProShop for all the golf gear including mens & women's clothes, shoes, gloves, hat's, belts, towels and a wide selection of golf ball brands. Nice snack bar at the turn with good menu options and a large dining room. You can also use an App called 'birdie' to advance order from the snack bar. The only downsides are the lack of water coolers along the holes and there is only one bathroom on the front nine. Hole #5 is perpetual cart path only. There is no beverage cart, even at the height of the hottest summer days. Many green side bunkers creating side hill & uneven lies.

My time is spent on the tennis courts there. Great setting with Boyce park walking trails located…read moredirectly behind. With 6 hard courts and 3 clay courts, you can almost always get a tennis court reservation, and membership is offered at a very reasonable price. Great groups of ladies to play with, and organized clinics are also offered (Eric is a fabulous advanced tennis coach and I love our clinics) Pool area also looks like a lot of fun for kids and adults alike!

It's been six years since my last review and time for an update…read more My buddy/co-worker S Fulwider is always giving me grief about not being spontaneous. Today, I called him at 10a and told him we had a 1p tee time and he was ready to say 'yes' after he cleared the deck of the 'honey do list'. The traffic was thick North on I-77 from Fort Mill but no grid lock so we made it in 20minutes and still had time to hit a bucket of balls. Jay is 'still' there, he's a fixture at this place and has been for at least the last 6 years since I retired and started playing there. They are no longer under Radcliffe Management but under Troon. Their 'on-line' booking website is excellent. IF you're playing solo, you're REQUIRED to call and book. We made the 9 hole round in 1 hr, 45 minutes and it was busy. We had a slow three some walking in front of us. It's hard to beat the price on this muni when you can get a Senior AND Vet discount and play for less than $30 bucks. Fulwider was pleased with the experience except on hole #9, the finishing par 5, he swears a blacksnake ate his ball. Always a nice change of pace but at prime time, Friday to Sun you will be challenged to get a time time and pace of play.

The huge coffee bar is a great added touch. The owner Marlene has been amazing and treats my child like she is her own. Her patients and nurturing spirit is unmatched. Can't believe it's been 3 years since I first reviewed this place…read more I stopped in on a Friday morning just after 10a to get a Christmas gift card. I'm thinking just after open, I'll breeze in and out. Not so fast, the place was already getting busy. When I parked I saw some high-end sports cars parked right in front, all backed in so the trunks were easy access to the sidewalk and just steps from the front door. That was the clue there were some experienced golfers on-site and there were. Several young men, it looked like a league and they had already ordered their cold beverages and were swinging away and getting festive. When it's December, cold and rainy, this is the place for the golfer who just has to get out and swing. I quickly got my gift card and boom I was out the door. My next thought was, my Son BETTER invite me to play when he uses the gift card!

I…read morepaid $20 to play the 9 holes twice, but the experience was so bad that I feel like I threw my money away. The tee boxes/mats were in really bad condition. Additionally, the placement of hole 3's tee box was incredibly confusing AND dangerous. Hole 3's tee box is in the direct line of those teeing off hole 9. As for the putting greens, oh my goodness, they were horrific. They were covered with so many golf ball-sized green broccoli head growths.. so my putts bounced and zigzagged. It was really annoying. Oh, and the hole cups were giant. In other words, you can't practice anything: no speed, distance, or control. You won't be leaving a better golfer at all. It's extra sad because this establishment has so much potential. Actually, I don't know. There's A LOT that needs fixing. :(
