Not flaking and falling apart like a lot of cupcakes are. This was a high quality work of love. This was premium ingredients. This was the way my nanny's ( my grandmother) cakes felt and tasted. This was love, time, effort and attention. This reminded me of the $60 king cake I got recently that was unlike and better than any king cake I'd ever had. It was like a mix between a dense, heavy sweet bread and a cake. I wish tastes, smells and textures could be shared over the Internet because baby, you've gotta try these cupcakes!!! You could tell the icing was also that same high quality, time spent, homemade icing that always beats anything you could ever find in a supermarket.
