But your employees are not honest people and they run when faced with a challenge. Everyone lied to me. Even the baker the day i picked up the cake she said she doesn't decorate and you told she did . WOW , if i ever see her , i will tell her what a big liar she is . SMH. Mr. Rhodes i thought very highly of you but i lost all respect when you didn't bother to call back . It took me awhile to decide to even address this situation. I placed an order for a Michael Jackson custom cake and what i got was a plan white cake with two photos . And the pictures was not edible because my family was spitting out paper SMH ( Embarrassed couldn't even describe how i felt ) because you could see people enjoying the cake but also putting their hand inside their mouth to get the paper out . And of course you know they looked at it and was like what is this. I will say the cake did have a nice taste but i paid for this cake which was $108.00 does not equal up to what i received. No disrespect to Walmart because i believe, know im sure they could have produce better . Sometimes when you think you're going to get better because you think you went to an upper echelon bakery. But it was the total opposite by the way this cake looked. The Michael Jackson photo began to turn brown and i put water icing , i was about to resort to glue to get the picture to stick. After i stated that the cake looked plain for $108.00, the employees completely shut down and deal not want to deal with me and i was very nice to everyone in spite of everything that was going wrong. You have thought the could have been more empathetic to my concern . Nope they was looking at me like they was in fear for their life, very stand offish . When i asked questions i got half answers and mumbles. I reached out to the owner and spoke with him and the conversation was going well and we spoke and then he ghosted me . Never returned my call. Regardless of me extending your employees for forgiveness, the least you could have done was respond back to my email . But you didn't and that's your choice, but im definitely going to let others know of the treatment i received and the subpar cake i received. I don't think anyone would paid that amount for a cake like that. How are you a bakery and have no decorations or you don't have a creative mind to create a design on cake. Then you should not call yourself a baker , you should call yourself a cake assembler. Because that what you did was assembled a cake and stuck a piece of brown picture paper on my son's cake. When my son saw the cake he looked and was thanks mom, his face didn't light up like i wanted it to. Until i came to the rescue, i thank God for my sense of creativity, if not i couldn't have turn my son half smile into a YAY and big jump into my arms thanking me for the awesome job i done with the decorations . Although i extended everyone forgiveness because that's the christian thing to do, i hold no hate in heart . I pray no one has to experience what i experience,

Wow! Who knew this place even existed besides everyone but me. I've come into town multiple times…read moreand finally stopped in this week. We arrived around 5 minutes before opening to find a line. Everyone here loves the cinnamon rolls and other delicious sweet treats. We were lucky enough to get rolls and chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven! Both were sweet and delicious. I'll admit, I'm a sucky for cream cheese frosting and Cinnamon Crème uses more of a sugar icing- I was nervous at first but still tasty! For six cookies and a roll I paid roughly $20, it was well worth it. Staff was super friendly and helpful and I appreciated their teamwork and eager for the morning rush. I will definitely come back the next time I am in town. If by chance you haven't checked this spot out yet I would highly recommend it!

After not having been there since before covid, I went back yesterday. I noticed the remodel and saw the lack of a case featuring cakes and other sweets. OK - I thought as long as it still tastes the same. I heard an employee tell another customer that the same family still owned it. I got my old favorite -- lemon blueberry tea cake and a cupcake with coconut and caramel topping the icing. My sister who has celiac bought several soups, many pieces of cheesecake, an individual lemon pie, cookies and more. She took a bite of the little pie as soon as we got in the car -- let me tell you it was awful. The lemon did not taste at all lemony. It tasted mostly of chemicals. When I got home, I ate the cupcake and the cupcake itself was dry and barely edible. The frosting was some unknown concoction that tasted of chemicals also. My sister told me this morning that she ate more stuff when she got home and she has been sick all night and still today. I googled Dempsey and it says that Paula Dempsey sold the bakery to Friendly Bakery. They did the remodel and I am assuming the food was also "remodeled." I'm sure it was a "money" thing because that is what big business always does -- look at the bottom line. I am so disappointed. I used to go there for lunch when I worked downtown but I know for sure, I won't be going back. I did not select "service" or "ambiance" as noted above. I didn't find anything wrong with either. It was the chemical taste of the food and the lack of freshness that I am upset about.
