The entire experience felt off, rushed and awkward. The hygienist did her best but I felt was inexperienced in her efforts to work with a child. We ended up not seeing the dentist we were told we would (by both the front desk and hygienist at the visit), there was alot of confusion and not a full comprehensive exam by the dentist, the owner who I think was asked to just step in to help. Additional dental expenses are never really good news for parents (and my son has a developmental disability, which means any kind of medical visit is potentially problematic for him). We found EVERYONE at Lakewood Park to be very sensitive to my son's needs, ALWAYS welcoming and extremely professional, and the cost of care to be very reasonable. My son actually enjoyed visits to the office (there are video games for kids in the waiting area, which was a treat.!) and the wonderful staff was always so nice to him that I think he considered it a visit to see some friends who "just so happened" to also be interested in his teeth! Best of all, the treatment was EFFECTIVE so we haven't needed to go back for some time, but you can bet that when my son requires further orthodontic care in the not-so-distant future, we wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

I liked how they have a room with multiple chairs in it...it made it easy as a family with multiple young children. We made appointments with their office and informed the office my kids' birthday information. After waiting for 3 weeks, the office lady Christina informed us the same day of our appointment that the dentist is not present at the office, and the doctor whom we scheduled the appointment with is an orthodontist who does not see patients under 7 years old...They knew we do not have any kids above 7 years old on the first day we made the appointment. They let us wait for more than 3 weeks just to tell us that the appointment had to be cancelled, despite that we have repeatedly stated over the phone the need for our children to do a routine dental check. Christina lied about leaving voice messages and calling us a week before our appointment, which were totally untrue after we checked and searched our call/voicemail history. Christina demanded the cancellation of the appointment (or re-schedule us for another 3 weeks) while I still nicely described our kids dental care needs. She didn't listen, and she commented "I think you don't fit for our office. You need to go elsewhere." at me over the phone. Absolutely no apology for creating this inconvenience while she could have cancelled or reschedule the appointment weeks before, or at least inform us that the appointment was impossible right away when it was scheduled. The patient care service attitude made us completely lose the confidence in this dental office. We understand sometimes human mistakes or miscommunication do happens, but her offensive words "not fit for the office" and "go elsewhere" are totally not appropriate.
