My crown fell out and they reinstalled it at no charge. On a Saturday! The staff was kind and very attentive. That alone would have earned a five star rating. (Then I found out they billed my insurance for X-rays etc to the tune of a thousand dollars? Not that big of a deal to me as I didn't have a copay...) What knocked it down a notch? After they checked my dental insurance the said that I had no coverage as records (?) indicated it was replaced in 2023? Huh? Wrong tooth and wrong cap. Estimated replacement cost would be $1,100 plus the possibility of needing a $325 root canal? I almost pulled the trigger but the 2023 "replacement" had me scratching my head. So I went back to Dr Wu on Irvine Blvd and my copay was only $425!!! read more

I never mind making the drive to go to Simply Dentistry over in Tustin cause it's always worth the drive versus going to any other local dentist. I schedule my routine teeth cleaning with Lance every time. Over the years , Lance has become my trusted go to Dental Hygenist so I figured it's about time I left a temp review, seeing how I'm always recommending him to friends. I remember when I was switching my dental insurances, Lance proactively reached out to the insurance carriers to make sure any work I was considering could be covered through my insurance. One of my friends had a hard time getting quoted for some dental work up in Los Angeles and even ended up making the drive all the way to Orange County to get some surgical work done. Says a lot! No need to be scared of teeth cleanings anymore. Lance is not only gentle but SOOO THOROUGH as he explains what he's doing along the way. If you're considering going to this place, please trust me, don't. It's not the front desk or assistants that are the problems, but the actual dentist. He told me I had 8 cavities and three root canals and said if I didn't get the root canals done immediately, my teeth would "crumble." Oh, and they said my crowns weren't covered so I'd have to pay $3000 out of pocket. Of course I was stressed out. I booked appointments immediately because I was scared. I had a feeling to get a second opinion, so I did. The other dentist I visited was SHOCKED that they were charging me for a crown and also said I only have one cavity and one tooth that needed a root canal. I was stunned. I was about to get 11 of my teeth worked on and take out a loan to pay this $3000, imagine if I didn't get that second opinion! I called my dental insurance and they were also shocked that I was being charged for the crown and said that they would of course cover my teeth being fixed AND the crown. I was still unsure of who to believe so I got a third opinion. Once again, the third opinion said that I only had one cavity and one root canal. And I wanted to just check one more time and got a fourth opinion-- same thing. One cavity and one root canal. The dentist knew this was my first visit to a dentist office in a while and he totally capitalized on me by saying I needed all that work done. They're extra nice to you and that's great, but please, be careful. Don't let them mess up your teeth for a quick buck. read more

Two years ago, I went to my first root canal procedure. I was extremely nervous. The staff made feel at ease. I was provided with some calming essential oils to put on my wrist and neck pulse. Afterwards, I followed the post care instructions.. It turned out better than I expected. The front office is good at following up with a patient on billing questions and appointments. Dentists show and explain your x-rays and treatments with you. The office decor is modern and the bathroom is always clean. It is located in a shopping center where there are assorted types of restaurants like Thai, Japanese, Sandwich shop, and reasonably priced Off The Boat Grill which has delicious Greek and Mexican meat and seafood dishes. There is also a place that does notary services, sells stamps/packaging supplies, and office stationary. read more

My consultation with Dr. Darcy Kawamoto was really unpleasant. I always expect my doctors to be comforting, but after Dr. K reviewed my x-rays, she came off really condescending and unempathetic and it left me feeling embarrassed. This is the first time a dentist has left me feeling that way and I decided to not come back to this practice because of it. The rest of the staff was really nice though. The girls at the front desk are always friendly and great at calling you about your reminder appointments. This was the only office I have been to where it doesn't make me feel like, they just want my money. The wait is not long when you have an appointment. I came to this place because they offered $200 for a deep cleaning. My dentist wanted $420. I cannot say enough about my visit. Iincluding my deep cleaning they did a free 3D scan and gave me pricing on an implant and Invisalign that was VERY affordable and half of what my denist offered. ($1500 for an implant and $2900 for invisalign treatment and I have a pretty bad maloclussion). The staff made me feel a part of my treatment and not like I was taking my car in and worrying about the cost. The guy called me over to look at a placement of an abutment on my tooth which made me feel like I was with them and able to call the shots. This is a great office to go to during the pandemic. There are many things in place for their patient's safety, including spaced out appointment slots, cleaned rooms, and social distancing in effect. All staff also have masks to help with it. The experience was great. I normally have pain during dental type things but it was painless here. I had my invisalign done and am doing great so far. All in all, I would recommend this to others to get the best for their teeth. Staff was friendly and Dr. Lance was great at explaining everything that was happening. I'm a new patient, through Denti-Cal. Being new to Denti-Cal and after not the best experience with my last dentist through my prior insurance carrier, I was a bit wary going into this. Simply Dentistry could not have put me more at ease! I came in for a cleaning and to see about a potential cavity I was concerned with. Lance the hygienist did an incredible job and is super nice and very clearly cares that you're comfortable in the chair. Dr. Kawamoto was amazing. She was super patient and kind walking me through what she saw on the x-rays so that I was on the same page with how she wanted to proceed, it helped me know I was in great hands and that's truly invaluable. Another reason she's now my new favorite dentist: Back in January, I got my first adult cavity. My dentist at the time did a half-assed job filling it as after the fact I was still experiencing bite and gum sensitivity while flossing around the tooth, but she filed down my tooth a little, dismissed my gum concerns, and assured me it would go away with time. Fast forward to my appt with Dr. K, I mention that I'm still experiencing the gum sensitivity with that tooth, and she offered to refill the cavity. I came in earlier this week for my filling appt and not only was it drastically different and better than my previous filling experience, I am thrilled to say my gum and bite sensitivity are finally gone! I'm a convert. I've told my family about them and they've all asked me for their office info which I happily provided them. Now I'm on here recommending them to you, they're that good! I came here as recommended by a friend and it was the best recommendation ever. I don't really write review but this place was wonderful. Been to a different dental office and was quoted almost $1200 for a deep cleaning and some filling but Simply Dentistry really went above and beyond for helping me out. They have a special on yelp for $49 per quadrant for deep cleaning so less than $200 for the whole mouth, and I couldn't be happier. My hygienist was Lance. I needed some numbing and he did a great job because I didn't feel anything at all. I hate going to the dentist and this was the best experience ever. I will be coming back to get some filling done. I first started going to Simply Dentistry earlier this year and all of my experiences were great! It all started with my first appointment which was a consultation with Dr. Chung. I was feeling pain/discomfort and luckily they were able to squeeze me in to check it out on such short notice. It was clear that I needed to come back to get some work done. Then my next few appointments were all done by Dr. K. Both doctors were very nice and thorough when it came to educating me about my teeth and what I needed to do. They always made me feel comfortable and reassured me that everything was going to be okay even when I felt nervous.
