Shawn was friendly and knowledgeable. Gave me some great tips and while we were waiting for the internet to come on cleaned out a lot of extra stuff I didn't even known I still had on the computer. The bill was far cheaper than I thought it would be and that was a nice surprise. Don't kick the computer to the curb, call Dial A Geek and have one of their great techs fix your problem without worry, fuss or frustration.

I still needed the battery so I accepted the condition. He called me later that day and said it was ready, so I went and got it. I was relieved that the screen was fine. He said there was a 30 day guarantee. When I got home I realized that the pairing was not working. So I Unpaired, shut down my phone then powered back up and tried to Re-Pair it. It seemed to work, but the next day I noticed that the functionality I was used to was not there. I could not ping my phone, my incoming phone calls did not go to my watch ... and many others. I admit I was not able to take it back right away and then when I did have time I procrastinated ... it was partially working and I knew when the 30 days were up. I did eventually take it back. He kept it for 3 days and then phoned to tell me that there was water damage and there was nothing he could do. He wanted to take the new battery out and refund my money for the battery only, but still charge me for his time. So he was not out a nickel and I was out a $400 watch, which would cost me $700 to replace new. He kept implying that the water damage happened after it left the store, but the watch didn't work properly from the moment I got home and tried it out. After a 3 lengthy phone calls, (I hung up on him twice - I was so angry) it was left with no resolution. To his credit he did call me back twice and said he wanted his customers to be happy. Overnight I decided that I would ask him if he could at least find me a replacement and I was determined not to get angry but to be firm. When I got there, he had come to the same conclusion and offered me an older replacement (series 3 - ugly black case, mine was the nice rose-gold colour). So he gets the second star for effort, but ultimately I paid him $125 plus tax for a downgrade. How do I know he didn't lie about the water damage? It is supposed to be water resistant, my daughter swims with hers on and it's fine. So he trades me an old watch for my newer one and I pay him for it? I did get the impression that he was trying to make good, but still - I can't know for sure if he's just a huckster.

He then suggested I bring in my laptop and older Samsung phone to the store to work with as I couldn't even bring my new phone back to the retailer as I wasn't able to get my personal information off until it was wiped. Few days later I bring my devices in and after spending two hours (no exagg.) he was able to reset and restore my new phone to be able to get wifi. I picked one and when it needed servicing some time later that was speedy too. I replaced it on Friday after making a trip to the store on Tuesday but a tight timeline for the person with me meant I had to ask for specs yet again despite wanting to get it done or linger drooling at all the technology. Still the quotes arrived and I now have a bouncing baby laptop. It is for me an actual need and one I had had bad experiences at Best Buy = so bad even they admit it but while I do not have much money where you spend it is a form of power. The service at Memory Express is great and what they don't have they can usually get. Sales cycles came up last time them not knowing how lucky they were to be spared a long list of things I got for much less than they typically ever cost by understanding this There's really nothing to complain about and when I worked in games and was training people I would say unhappy players review much more than happy ones . I couldn't control that or how that made my teams feel even though I would find the good things they were doing as part of their reviews but I can control it for this. Going somewhere else would be on the silly side as I have high but reasonable expectations and am a control freak when it comes to tech as I do need a working laptop all of the time. To have that respected and understood and with quick service as well is not typical despite the cost of the items I have bought other places. I would add a photo of my beloved most recent laptop but the one it replaced or the dog might get jealous. While other places that sell computers may have more visible product and razzle dazzle ultimately if that's all you want online has that but at some point tech could fail you or need an upgrade and that's when the level of service of Memory Express comes in handy ,.
