Used them for 2 years for slower expensive service at my home. It was my only option at the time. Now my equipment is broken, no call from anyone that was promised to come and fix it, they didn't upgrade my tower so I cannot get fast service, which no one told me, and they want $199 to cancel. I have had no problems- we run Netflix, 2 laptops and phones over WIFI. I have the 'middle' service. People complain about the contract- I have had Cox, Dish, DirectTV- the all had contracts. I have had Simply Bits Internet Service for 3 years now. My internet has always been fast and I have never been kicked off. The support team is very knowledgeable as well as the sales team. Supporting local is always the best way to go and to know that they are just right up the street is comforting. You don't get what you pay for... I signed up for the Ultimate Plan which says it provides 25 Mbps down and 7 Mbps up. I was able to reach that throughput it only a few times after they first installed. Shortly after installation, I was "Jailed"...their term for throttling (intentional slowing or speeding of an Internet service by an Internet service provider (ISP)). I was resorted down to less than 1 Mbps (that is not a typo). I was told by their tier II that they have an algorithm in place that automatically throttles users down after they have reached 95 capacity. I was told by their tech, that power users who subscribe to their top tier plans reach the capacity faster than those lower tier plans--obviously since ultimate plan users get more throughput & paying higher plan prices. This mechanism of load balancing to ensure everyone has some capability is flawed and it penalizes their power users who pay the extra money for the better bandwidth. This doesn't make sense because power users will be resorted to less than 1 Mbps while basic users will still get 2 Mbps---since it takes them longer to reach their 95%. So basically they penalize their top tier customers with this flawed algorithm. It is completely unethical and fraudulent. You will have to look very carefully on their web page that says you agree to this malpractice. It's not overly apparent (of course), in fact it's very small font with an asterisks on their residential plan page that says "*Data has no limits as long as our Acceptable Use Policy is followed.". Then in their Acceptable Use Policy, they call it Congestion Management and Usage Metering (how is using what you pay for is not acceptable use is beyond me). You won't find it anywhere else. It says, "If a certain area of the network nears a state of congestion, our congestion management technique will ensure that all customers have a fair share of network access. This technique will identify which customer accounts are using the greatest amounts of bandwidth relative to other customers in that area, and their internet traffic may be temporarily managed for a period of twenty-four (24) hours or until the congestion period passes, whichever is greater. Customers will still have online access to the internet, but they could experience longer download/upload times or slower web surfing." Not sure how an Ultimate Plan ($99 per mo) Subscriber who is metered and only getting less than 1 Mbps down and a Basic Plan ($24.95) Subscriber who is getting 2 Mbps down is ensuring all customers have a "fair share" of network access. The Ultimate Plan Subscriber who is paying 4x more is getting less bandwidth "fair Share" than those Basic Plan Subscribers. Bottom Line: This Company over sells its capacity/capabilities, then penalizes their top tier customers under the premise that they are ensuring that all their customers are getting their fair share of network access. read more

We've had Simply Bits for 5 years. They used to be pretty good. It used to be when you had an issue you could talk to someone locally and they helped you. Now they are horrible. We've been paying for their highest level service and recently, during what appears to be high usage times, our download and uploads have been so bad we can barely get email. We both work from home, meaning we CAN'T work from home. We have tried repeatedly to get tech support, but our calls appear to be sent outside of Tucson, and it's always the same thing, "Try to unplug your router, then plug in your router". It almost never helps and consumes huge amounts of our precious time. Recently we've been calling over and over again and have been told 4x that a higher level technician would call us back within 2 hours, but they never did. NOBODY CALLS BACK. We've emailed them through the tech support and they don't respond. They make promises they don't keep regarding your speed, take you money regardless, and no longer provide any real technical support. If you have the option to find another service, DO IT! read more

I use SB internet at home. I have had it for 8 years now, and only had an issue one time. I originally had a 12MB connection but it wasn't giving me the speed so I called in to see why my bandwidth was going so slow. The support group looked at my connection and said everything looked good. I explained that wasn't possible because my tests were showing only ~2MB speeds. They dug in a little more and found a device on my home network pulling over 11MB. It turned out my dad was downloading updates. At that time, I was actually pulling more than the 12MB I was supposed to have. Now I have upgraded to a 25MB plan. Although the plans are not as large as large as what other companies offer, I have had better luck and more consistent service with Simply Bits than other options. My entire family is able to use it and there are never any complaints the speed is not fast enough. I like the service because it is consistent, has a very low latency, and is still online even when my tv or power is out. The company truly does care about the service being provided. They go above and beyond to provide the best service possible. I would recommend you give them a try. read more

i purchased the simply bits service in jan 2015, the service was good, did not really have any down time. unfortunately i did sign a 3 year contract, and that was fine at the time, but in very sad news i had to close my business down. i contacted my sales rep mike, well after two month and me having to send an email asking if they had picked up the equipment from the roof of my old leased building. i was called back by a sales rep named lisa, and then by their director of sales lisa moore. i was given no real solution to my problem, but i was told that i would still be responsible for the remainder of the contract. that's about $3800.00 that would be great if i was keeping the service. but i was told by a cold hearted person it's a contract and that's all they can say. don't they understand that losing your business is a very gut wrenching experience? i even offered to pay for the phone line for the next three years, just in-case a customer calls with questions. but i would not want to pay for the internet services since i would not be able to using them. but again a cold response of "you signed a 3 year contract". so i give you a buyer bewares heads up. read more

I was a customer with this company for more than 5 years. I got a job in another state and had to move. Even after more than 5 years paying my bill they charged me a $200 cancellation fee. This is a horrible way to treat a loyal customer. read more

4 years and I have never had any issues. My router went out- but that's not their problem. I got a new one and my problems of being knocked off constantly were fixed. And as for the apartment complex review- I just have to comment... My kid lived in an apartment complex that advertised free wifi- HA! The fine print on the lease said not guaranteed. We later found out it was set up as a scam by the apt complex. What a rip off. They had wi-fi which would serve about 6 people- that's it! read more

I got the service (12 mbps download and 5 mbps upload plan) and the download and upload were working great, but in the last 10 days the download has been very slow, I contacted the simply bits technical support department 3 times and troubleshoot the equipment and the download still very slow. Every time I contacted the technical support I got the attitude that they do not care. they were great when I signed in, after that they do not care. Very disappointed. read more
