I was expecting a semi fade from short (back) to long (front). I even told Jamie I'm letting her as a styltest to undo my rat nest of hair. Even the sides being shaved we talked about doing a 1 to a fade to a 2 but she obv didn't feel comfortable doing that....a basic fade so we went with an over all 1 I ended up with a legit reverse mullet (picture shown). I showed my coworkers and even tho I laughed it off they even were mad for me. As a stylist you thought a reverse nullet was ok?!? Idk if it was bad communication or she was scared to work on my hair or what.... $52 (with a tip) for shaved sides and a trim....a basic men's hair cut..... I knew I should have gone to a barber who could have done the SAME JOB but better as well for cheaper. I don't understand why women are changed almost triple for the same hair cut that men pay more than half the price. 3rd picture. The top in my hand is what was long and was trimmed. The back was the length of the overall lower half of my hair. As you see she just shaved the sides, trimmed the top and decided to call it good. Well worth the time and money! I got 3 treatments with her that reduced my hair growth by half and the hair that grows back is thin and manageable. I should have just stopped her there and told her to soak off my nails since she was giving me attitude. But I let her finish. She did what I requested and I was satisfied with the French tip. She got up and walked away. I will never go back, the attitude that Ivey gave me was awful. I think that this might not be a fair review but I went for eyelash extensions and left having a…read morepanic attack. I have had eyelash extensions done 2 times before at a nail salon in Hawaii. The salon had a room with a pillow, that was dimly lit and music was playing. I ended up falling asleep during my first eye lash extensions experience it was so peaceful. At Mai's: I was uncomfortable, I don't remember if they have music playing or not but the fluorescent lighting and hospital feel made me SO uncomfortable. I was lying there, trying to get comfortable when I felt like I was going to pass out (I think I was clenching my body because I was trying to be still but also get comfortable) Well, I asked if I could get up and stupid me didn't realize I couldn't open my eyes (because they are like taped down or something) and I ended up freaking out. I don't think it was the girls fault that was doing them but it's not the most comfortable procedure, and not being able to open your eyes/having someone right in your face is claustrophobic.
