It looked brittle and cheap from being over processed by the stylists that were being recommended. Fortunately, I found Candy at Nicole Allen. She used the same products that my salon in NY had used and she was open to my suggestions on how to apply the color for a more natural look. I have dark hair with a lot of natural highlights. Everyone else had died my hair solid black and due to the overly dark color buildup, it had taken on a purple tone. Candy not only makes my hair look natural at 52, but she has transformed the texture of my hair back to the shiny, healthy condition it had always been. This has everything to do with her in-depth knowledge of her trade. She actively pursues the most innovative products, processes, treatments, tools, and techniques in her industry. She never stops seeking a better solution for her clients' needs. She is dedicated to being the best, though she would never say as much. Not only has she won national competitions, but international as well. Candy is very talented and could easily hold her own in any large city based on my experience with high end NY salons. On top of her doing an amazing job, she is incredibly kind and humble. She's personable and authentic, which is something I value greatly in my relationships.

The salon had a room with a pillow, that was dimly lit and music was playing. I ended up falling asleep during my first eye lash extensions experience it was so peaceful. At Mai's: I was uncomfortable, I don't remember if they have music playing or not but the fluorescent lighting and hospital feel made me SO uncomfortable. I was lying there, trying to get comfortable when I felt like I was going to pass out (I think I was clenching my body because I was trying to be still but also get comfortable) Well, I asked if I could get up and stupid me didn't realize I couldn't open my eyes (because they are like taped down or something) and I ended up freaking out. I don't think it was the girls fault that was doing them but it's not the most comfortable procedure, and not being able to open your eyes/having someone right in your face is claustrophobic. They need to renovate. It feels like a hospital. Have 2 stars because the lady was very kind.

I currently had acrylic on my toes and I wanted them removed and I wanted a fresh set. Somewhere along the way it was misinterpreted that I just wanted the acrylic removed and they were very rude about it and then charged me an extra $20 because they had already put gel on one of my feet. I totally understand the lost product and that is fine because I should've said something sooner, but $20 is insane. The guy that was drilling the acrylic off was very heavy-handed and rough. I left with scraped cuticles. I also told him that my toenails were very sensitive and it just seemed like he did not listen to me at all. So $60 later I left with a pedicure and destroyed nailbeds.

Asked for ballerina and he said he never heard and gave me coffin. He gave me a hot mess of whatever it's called. Chunky base. Wide past my nail bed on sides. Thick!! Misshaped and uneven filing. Made me bleed on two fingers. I tried to tell him he was filing them uneven and he snapped back and said I need to let him finish the process. Cost $75! Never again- I have a huge issue with someone charging $75 for a service and not providing it to a reasonable standard. Photos are of the day of and then 2 weeks later.

As for the full set, my nails were popping off by day SEVEN. Normally, my acrylics last for about 3 weeks before I have to go in and get a full or new set. When I got home I noticed it was all still there all she did was wet it so you couldn't see it at the moment. I paid 35$ for that. Never again
