    Mac N Cheese
    Camille J.

I ordered several things off the menu in effort to support a Black business and this Mac N Cheese is Simplee Pathetic. It's literally boiled noodles with maybe three pieces of shredded cheese . The noodles were not touched (in the photos) and immediately went in to the trash after looking for the cheese. A cheese burger was ordered and was good, just to note it's on white bread and not buns. Fries with shrimp was also ordered which were tasty, but maybe 2 pieces of shrimp in there. Again it was good, just not what I ordered. Finally to end on a positive note, the greens were really good. If I had known how poorly they were I would have Simplee gotten it. ‍. I will not be giving them another chance until I see improved ratings. Please do better.

Awful! Incredibly slow and incredibly underwhelming food. They serve breakfast all day and when I arrived, it around noon. Wasn't sure if they were open due to the lack of greeting/acknowledgment. It wasn't until I looked through their barely visible carryout window when I saw a lady just sitting. After confirming if they were indeed open, I placed my order. When I asked if the wings came whole or halved I was told the latter (6 halved wings with two sides... kinda pricey but I was starving). Ended up placing four orders of the wing dinner with mac & cheese & sweet potatoes. 10 minutes later after paying, I'm told they only have mac & cheese for two dinners. How did you not know what was available? I'm assuming the mac & cheese was from the previous night because it was incredibly dry and terrible! So I substituted for fries. Finally after 25-30 minutes of waiting, my food was finally done. Chicken wasn't seasoned at all, again the macaroni was dry, the (mashed) sweet potatoes just okay, and the fries could've been cooked longer. Not worth the money, time, or another visit.

Will not be eating here again. Not only was this food half cold, the macaroni was not done all the way and was so cold and mushy in the middle! The baked beans were simply Luke warm as well and were VERY VERY sweet. Lastly you could literally tell the BBQ sauce was quickly slapped on the wings because it just sat on top of the chicken and when you went to eat it it was VERY thick. This isn't my first time having a bad experience here. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Went there today and order 3wings1 pcs of fish with fries for $9.50. When I open my boxes I had 3 baby wing!!! My fries Soggy but hot and my fish and chicken both tasted old my chicken had black meat inside of it. Will not be going back there again

If I would have read the reviews first I wouldn't have eaten here so I'm glad I tried them! The wait is extremely long (30-40 mins), it's takeout only but they have a drive up window which is nice since I have small kids. I ordered the chicken and waffles and added mac and greens. The macaroni is dry and bland. The greens are a little too vinegary for me but I would get them again. The chicken is good & seasoned good too. I'm from NC & there's no good food this affordable so for that I'll come again but I'm definitely calling well ahead.

Not even a full wing very upset no seasoning on anything and Mac and cheese isn't fully done

Half of our food didn't even come. The baked Mac & cheese is NOT baked and frankly is not good.

LOVED the food at Kay's, a food stall located inside the Saraga market on S. Hamilton Rd. Ms. Kay,…read morethe owner, is friendly and goes above and beyond to provide excellent service. I have to admit that ever since moving to Columbus 6 years ago, I've felt that great soul food is hard to come by here, but hers is definitely the exception! Came on a Sunday afternoon and tried the stuffed salmon combo. You are allowed to pick how many sides you want, and the price increases accordingly. I opted for mac n cheese and collard greens, and the greens were some of the best I've ever tried at a restaurant. Also was given a huge portion well worth the price. She was kind enough to let me sample her turkey and dressing which were delicious too. I'll definitely be back!

First, if you're not from Columbus (like us), the place is inside the International Marketplace…read more Now with the housekeeping out of the way, let's get to the goody ... After a really rough day on the lanes, we were hongry (yes, I spelled that correctly) and wanted soul food. The soul food place we'd visited the last time we were in Columbus closes at 6pm. It's a little after 7. So trusting my fellow Yelpers, I searched out soul food and Kays was very near our hotel. They, the Yelpers, as usual, got it right. Those of you who know us, know that we go in hard. Especially when the place has good customer service reviews. Our fellow Yelpers did not lie. The place is a kitchen staff by Kay herself and a young lady whom I'm assuming is her daughter? Nonetheless, her booming personality and jovial demeanor made us not care about what was cooking in her kitchen! We wanted it. The hand written flipboard menu was nothing less than charming. Made me feel like I was at grandma's where she put a note on the refrigerator saying this is what's for dinner. Don't spoil your appetite before then. Not an expansive daily special menu, which was cool, because when you haven't eaten since breakfast, you tend to go hog wild at the mere thought of food, and typically can't settle on anything. Pimp had pork chops, rice and gravy, and greens. I had the catfish and macaroni and cheese. When I say the silence was palpable when Pimp started chomping that chop ... He completely left the building. Him, pork chops, rice and gravy were in a different ethosphere. He did wish there was more gravy though. Greens were tender and well seasoned. My catfish was rolled with hands that had done family reunion fish frys for a long time. Well seasoned, coated and fried to perfection. The macaroni and cheese had the creamy, stringiness that you like to play with before you fly it into your mouth. It definitely had personality. But the coup de grace was indeed the service. I am completely angry, because we need to eat in this woman's kitchen at least once a month, and Columbus is 3 1/2 hours away from Detroit! The Saraga International Market is interesting in and of itself, but I'll post a different review on that. Kudos Ms. Kay. We're looking forward to them oxtails on our way home tomorrow and to many visits in the future.

Turn in at the light, and be careful about which driveway you pick- I think it's the second driveway, near a daycare, and it winds around back to the restaurant. You can see the place from James. Pretty busy at lunchtime, a few dine in and some carryout. Served cafeteria style, so you can see what you want, and drool over it. Well, there's a clear shield, but you know what I mean. I got smothered pork chops, since I hadn't had them forever. Meaty, tender, covered in gravy and onions. So so good, especially as comfort food on a cold day. You can also get them fried. Plenty of other things on the menu looked good. And all of the sides sounded good. I ended up getting one that was a mix of cabbage and greens, instead of getting the two separately, so that gave me space for another side. I went with mac & cheese. Sweetie's mom's mac is the best in the world. I'm not kidding. This is not quite that good, but is a very good homemade version, loaded with cheese, and baked in a big pan. Service was excellent. Prices are a bit steep, but good for the quantity and quality. Canned pop. Cheap plasticware. I was leery, but the pork chops were so tender that even a plastic knife pulled them apart easily. Hardly needed it. The place is not fancy inside. Old, but clean, a few booths and tables. You're there for the food, not the decor. Or, come in and pick it up and take it home. And have better silverware... I will definitely be back. I loved what I got, and was enticed by some of the other things.

I looked at the steam table, and not sure what to get because I tire of spending my money and being disappointed. I ordered something that I thought would be a safe-bet...I ordered 4 fried wings, Mac and cheese, and candied yams. I started tasting my food when I got in the car. The wings were perfectly cooked -- juicy and tender. The Mac and cheese had a decent amount of cheese, not like some places that cover their Mac and cheese with some type of Velveeta sauce. I would have eaten all of my wings in the car, but I needed some hot sauce, which surprisingly the restaurant did not have. I finished my meal when I got home. The yams were delicious...not overly sweet. I will say that the wings and Mac and cheese could have used a little more seasoning, but that was okay...there are many times where I went to a soul food restaurant and had to toss food because it was way too salty. I would rather my food to be under seasoned than over seasoned. You can always add, but you can't take it away. I will definitely return, and try something else on the menu, and hopefully not be disappointed.
