On Saturday January 9th 2021 I was enjoying a deep conditioning treatment and haircut by stylist Toni Poole at Simple Wellness. Toni is an amazing stylist and I have been with her for close to 10 years if not more. The massage therapist for Simple Wellness named Ellaina Johnson, was offering free hand massage samples to clients and I accepted it for my left hand because I had injured my right hand doing a work out a few weeks ago. The salon owner Angela Hardy mentioned that the hand massage may help my injured right hand. I explained to Ellaina Johnson the sore areas of my hand and how I injured it and we agreed that we would proceed cautiously and she even gave me a safe word to use if I needed her to stop or change what she was doing. The hand massage caused me to relax to a level that I had not imagined possible from a hand massage and it helped my right hand feel better by reducing the pain and increasing the range of motion. I enjoyed the hand massage so much that same day I ended up getting a two-hour massage that included hot stones and a piriformis release. The massage was incredible! Words cannot begin to describe how relaxed I felt as well as how much better my lower back and tight piriformis felt. She encouraged me to go home and take a hot soak. My Epsom salt bath intensified the benefits and euphoric feelings of the massage and piriformis release that Ellaina did. I look forward to enjoying the works of Ellaina Johnson on a monthly basis and as often as needed since I work out on a regular and I'm trying to age gracefully being healthier and stronger each day than I was the day before. read more

This was my first time here, so I didn't know what to expect. All I knew was I wanted a place where I could get a massage, mani/pedi, and cornrows. I got so much more than that though. Not only was the energy, vibes, and atmosphere amazing, it was so healing and nurturing to my soul. It felt like something out of a movie! I laughed so hard I cried. I almost cried from being so pampered (I mean a shoulder massage while your under the dryer)?! Yet, there was time for deep reflection in community and by myself, and just pure relaxation. I know this sounds more like a therapy review, because it was so therapeutic. On top of all that, my schedule was accommodated (on somewhat short notice), they worked with my budget, I had other accommodations that they catered to; and I walked out looking good and most importantly feeling whole. My first trip to Baltimore started with a great facial and mani/pedi at Simple Wellness. I needed to fill the better part of my first day waiting for the rest of my party to arrive. I did a little research online and stumbled upon this salon about a week before my trip. The staff bent over backwards to make sure they could accommodate my schedule. Natalie arrived at the salon 45 minutes before they opened just in case I arrived early which was amazing because when I arrived at the salon 35 minutes early I didn't have to stand outside (it was 0 degrees!!). They even changed the mani/pedi appointment at the last minute to after lunch so I could meet up with a high school friend I hadn't seen in 15 years. Natalie and Zerika (sorry if I butchered that!) provided great services and offered suggestions about essential oils which I had recently added to my routine. You know what you should do this weekend? Treat yourself to a massage at Simple Wellness. I've never had such a fulfilling experience at a spa. Other places are nice, and commercial-like...but my experience here was authentic, genuine and warm. When you walk in, the smells of oils and incense immediately fill you and then you're greeted warmly by everyone on the staff. They were professional, organized, and had such good vibes. I felt at ease. The massage, honeeey, let me just say - do yourself a service and get one! The room was pleasant and relaxing, the masseuse LaTosha was so kind and warm. I felt like she really enjoys what she does and takes pride in her craft. She was so calming and friendly. The massage was top notch! I fell asleep on many occasions during the treatment, so.... Sometimes, you just need a good ole fashioned cry. A moment to process and remember who you are and what you are. Today was that day for me. Angela has a loving heart and hands that seem to make things fall into place. I haven't had a retightening in quite some time, which was very necessary. We talked as she loved on my hair and me, but she also gave me the space to be; to process. You see, hair care is a magical thing. it brings to life not just the hair, but the soul within. As I sat and processed, Toni and Rabia gently reassured me, without words, that all will be well. That all is well. I have been going to Simple Wellness since late February, so for about 9 months give or take, and I love it. Angela Hardy is fantastic, I usually go to her for my retightening for my sister locks. My hair is now extremely healthy and I have become more aware of what products work best for my hair. Likewise, thanks to Angela my hair is growing in not only healthier but thicker as well. Natalie Savage is the person you definitely want to go to for all your skin care needs. Over the last nine months or so she has helped me fight my adult acne, helped my skin to heal, and have an overall more even toned skin tone. I recommend them fully! read more

I've had so many hair salon experiences throughout my life but none come close to the outstanding care & service I've found at Simple Wellness. I loved my experience at Simple Wellness! I had a formal for graduate school this weekend and was wanting to get my hair and makeup done. When I called to schedule an appointment they were very helpful with making sure I had enough time before my event. When I arrived I was offered something to drink and a snack as well. My hair and makeup was done by Epiphany and Natalie and they did a superb job. I went in not knowing what I wanted besides an updo, and they both worked with me to create the perfect look. I thought it would be great to enjoy a foot massage while I was preparing to travel abroad so I checked out Simple wellness day spa. This place is great example of what very good customer service should look like, the staff was particularly attentive and ready to help. Check in was smooth, Great options for different services and a big welcome which are always well received. Clearly, the staff was very focused and and went well above my expectation in providing my foot massage. This is now my place where I will go for all my spa services. It has been a minute since I was last here. But, yet again, walked in to find the place on the level: clean, welcoming, and an uplifting atmosphere. You only have to look at Toni's hair to know you're dealing with a hair artist: listened to what I wanted, shaped me up sweet and freshly lined (even kept it natural looking - no hard angles and was able to work wonders with these edges!) My wonderful eight-year old daughter has beautiful hair that I (as her father) can do little with other than to wash/condition it. Thankfully Latosha Smith, a stylist at Simple Wellness Hair & Day Spa, knew just how and what to do and helped to make my daughter feel special throughout the experience. Angela was really a God send for me. My salon was lacking services that we really wanted to provide. I wasn't able to find anyone in my area to teach us the methods. Not only did Angela offer to teach my staff and I, she did so with the utmost integrity and professionalism. I felt as if she really wanted us to succeed.
