Mirror, mirror on the wall, tell me which skewer spot has the best deal of all? If you don't know me well, I'm gonna tell you that my guilty pleasure in life are skewers. Yes little barbecued, grilled sticks of meat or veggies. My weak spot tends to fall under lamb or bacon wrapped enoki mushrooms. Seeing that the ever popular Simon's BBQ was popping up every where I'd thought I'd give it a shot to see who grills it better. Like Mr. Grill's a block away, they also have a seating area. I got an order of BBQ beef, BBQ lamb, BBQ bacon with enoki mushroom. A few items I wanted were sold out which I was surprised since it was pretty early for skewer business. Places like these usually close at 2am or 3 even. I went around 2pm and the BBQ bacon w. chives, BBQ beef with chives and BBQ beef tendon meat ball were already sold out. The meats here were good, about the same quality as Mr. Grill's. The only thing I don't like is that they use barbecue sauce. I prefer my skewers to be simple with spices. Honestly it comes down to your own preference, how you like your skewers. This place definitely has more options than Mr. Grill's and a bigger venue. Take your pick! read more

The flavor is there but the portions are like micro sized. I see they got to pay for rent now but still! The portions are ridiculous. That doesn't apply to all skewers but to the lamb and beef. Not sure about the others though. Long wait for 3 skewers. 15 minutes. Honestly I liked them better before they opened up an actual store. Amazing skewers!! Very authentic tasting. Owner/host is extremely friendly and this restaurant caters to both Chinese and American customers. There's little in the way of atmosphere but the taste of the skewers more than makes up for it. Really loved the experience. Prices are more than reasonable. The lamb If you like jerky this lamb stick is for you. They have just the right amount amount of seasoning on all their meat and use the finest charcoal "Royal Oak" for grilling everything. This is definitely the best bbq sticks place I've ever been to. Meats and other items are always grilled perfectly and their signature sauce is banging. Great prices, great service. Nothing like meat on skewers. Got the beef, lamb, short ribs, bacon wrapped chives, bacon wrapped enoki's and a bbq red bean pie. Everything was awesome but the bacon wrapped skewers stuck out the most. The sauce that they put on is outstanding. The red bean pie was like a grilled bun and was great. This place is litttttttt like literally they have a shit ton of lights led lights inside, makes the atmosphere DNA the cart that they have on 8th ave. the food is also good, got too many to list but my all stars were rice cake, chicken gizzard chicken feet and the short ribs. I rarely write Yelp reviews because I am lazy but what happened was so bad that I had to do this. I came in and placed a take-out order at 7:15 getting tons of skewers. Then a man and a mom came in and each ordered a bunch of stuff to go as well. When the man asked how long it would take, he was told that it would only take 10 minutes. And guess what, all of us sat there for more than 40 minutes for the skewers. Meanwhile, there was only one table sitting in to eat so the store wasn't even busy, so I was pretty frustrated that my skewers were taking so long to prepare. Finally, this lady came out with an order and asked me if it was mine. I said, 4 lamb? She did not object. I took the food and went home, only to find out that I got the mom's order which included 10 chives. (4 and 10 sound similar in Chinese.) So I called them back and wanted to see what could be done, hoping maybe I could just switch the stuff back with the mom if she was still there by any chance. And the lady straight up started yelling at me blaming me and refused to help fix the problem, which is so rude and infuriating. I am not expecting stellar customer service but I did not pay to get yelled at, wtf? TL; DR: Waited more than 40 minutes for some skewers, lady handed me the wrong order and yelled at me saying it was my fault. read more

We went to this place late one Saturday night when we were looking for delicious food with no frills. Simons nailed it. The menu has tons of meat, veggies and seafood, all really cheap and perfectly cooked. The shrimp was my favorite, along with the bacon wrapped enoki. Ate here with 3 friends on halloween and we got chicken, beef, fish ball with roe and cheese, squid and rice cake. Absolutely delicious- mild seasoning that can be enhanced by the chili powder provided. It almost got addicting as we had to order another round of the fish ball and rice cake. This place is awesome. First of all nobody speaks english. Who cares. Just point out what you want and how much you want of it on the menu. They didnt have any rice. So what too much rice is not good for you anyway..........I really wanted some rice however. I think they did have french fries & tater tots, but I will give that a try on the next go around. What they do have is some well cooked delicious meat and veggies. The short ribs were sooooo good. Had chicken wings and the skin was grilled crisp like nobodies business. The mushrooms wrapped in bacon just melted in your mouth. This place rivaled some of the yakitori spots I have been to in Manhattan. Some of the items on the menu I wasnt brave enough to try but hopefully one day. Despite the language barrier the waitress was very nice and checked in on us several times. came here for dinner recently and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of bbq sticks. we had quite a few things, dinner turning out to be close to $40 for 2. bbq porkchops - pretty tasty, fried chicken - this was a miss as it was flavorless, bbq beef - pretty good, but i still like the queens cart better, bbq chicken stick - pretty tender but over doused in bbq sauce, bbq squid tentacles - decent, bbq bacon wrapped enoki - not much bacon flavor, bbq fish ball with roe - i liked this one, bbq short ribs - decent nothing crazy special but a bit chewy. just come with your own drinks because they definitely dont specialize in that area of the menu! read more

Guys, this place is the best bbq around this neighborhood. BUT I would take 1 star from the service because when me and my friend walk in the place nobody was saying anything, so we went to the corner table and sit there. After around 5mins the waitress came up and gave us two menus. The other guy took my order was okay but these people should be more passionate and more friendly to their customers.
