Early prevention saves lives - get your mammogram ladies! Thankfully, a self-check found my tumor and now we play the every six months monitoring game. This location is closest to my house, and has provided great service for both mammograms and ultrasounds. They are very friendly, and easy to book and be seen. Avoid them! Their billing department is terrible and their customer service at the facility wasn't good either. Do not make the same mistake I made, trust the reviews and go anywhere but SimonMed! They charged me before services were provided even though I told them my insurance would cover 100% (I verified this in with my insurance before appointment). I was told they (SimonMed billing) had contacted my insurance and the amount being charged was my co-pay since my deductible had not been met. I verified with the receptionist how the refund process worked since I know my insurance is going to cover the entire bill and was told it would automatically be refunded once they received the explanation of benefits/payment from insurance. I put the amount on my Care Credit, against my better judgment because I needed the test done. Fast forward a month, I received the explanation of benefits from my insurance a few days prior and they covered 100% of the bill (FYI they charged me way more than they even billed my insurance) so I called SimonMed billing to check the status of my refund. They said they had not received anything and that once they do it will automatically be refunded. I waited two weeks then called again. This time I was told by a SimonMed billing representative that they processed the refund on their end but I would need to contact Care Credit and have them authorize the refund before it could be issued. I was provided a number, when I called that number it was out of service. So, I contacted the number on my credit card. The Care Credit representative said that was inaccurate and something she had never heard of in her many years of experience. I was advised by Care Credit to file a dispute and provide all documentation from insurance stated it was paid and I owed nothing. Before I could even submit documentation, I got an email the next business day from Care Credit stating the issue has been resolved. read more

Awful! Showed up at 1:30 with several ahead of me. Was told to come back at 3:30 and they would get me in for my X-ray. Received a text saying I had a 3:30 appt. Came in at 3:15 and was told it would be 45 minutes and received a new text saying my appt was at 4:20. At 4:30 I asked when I would be called and was told there were two people ahead of me. The ladies at the desk are rude and their system is awful. I miss the days when a doctor's office had an X-ray machine. read more

I had an appointment for 8:30. I had inquired after an hour what may be the hold up. As well as seeing others asking the same question. The receptionist went to check then came back and told me that I was some how skipped over and that the tech had several others to get to, that I may be possibly be seen in about 25 minutes. After another good hour past, my name was called to the desk in which I was informed that the tech walked out. She was very apologetic and stated she would send all my info to a Simon Med on Higley in which I took it. On arrival there were others from the Apache Junction location that had also been sent there. This is the worst experience that I have had at that location but there have been appointments prior that the wait was beyond what one should expect. read more

I called SimonMed to verify that they were in network with my UHC insurance. After 45 minutes on the phone, and texting then a photo of the front and back of my current UHC insurance card, they advised me that they were indeed in-network and I scheduled two scans for June 25. I went to my appointment and gave my insurance card upon check in. They didn't advise of any coverage issues and I had my scans done. The following day, June 26, SimonMed called me and told me they were out of network and I had no coverage. I called SimonMed customer service and the rep told me they had made a mistake and that I was actually covered and that she was updating that in the computer. Five minutes later she called me back to say that she discovered my insurance plan had changed and that I was not covered. I explained that I had submitted my insurance card prior to the appointment and again at check in and that there was no problem. She then put me on with her supervisor, Calvin, who said he had to research the issue and would call me back, which he never did. To make matters worse, I had previously called UHC and they referred me to SimonMed for imaging and verified they were in-network also. Now I have to file a grievance with my UHC insurance so that I won't be billed. All of this took me three hours on the phone. What a nightmare! read more

As for front desk receptionist, no star rating. I went to the SimonMed in Apache Junction Az. My appointment was at 8:15 a.m The receptionist in the front desk, I forget her name. Hispanic, she's in her 50's, I'm sure everyone knows whom I'm talking about. As soon as I walk in, she's snapping at everyone. Give me your name, stand here, sign this, not pleasant. I did tell her she is being very rude. She said she was the only one there at that time. I can understand that it can be a challenge, but no excuse for being rude. If this woman can't handle her job, then she needs to get a new job. The technicians were great It's just unfortunate that a person's first interaction was that receptionist. I reviewed this company over 2 weeks ago - descibing them as horrible to deal with. They use customer service personnel the are located somewhere in Asia - maybe India or Bangladesh. My main cpmplaint was how badly they bungled my imaging order - which I cancelled. I have since had to cancel it twice more but they continue to voicemail me and call me trying to schedule it. This is complete harassment. Run away from these people. read more

I've been there a few times over the years because my insurance made me, and I've been there with other people. If their machines aren't broken and their not understaffed and your willing to wait at least an hour past your appointment time you may get a scan that's readable...or not. Good luck. read more

Every time I go to this location the people at the front desk are not very nice. Very rude office staff. The wait times for walk ins are usually long. They don't always have the right technicians for testing. They will try to send you to a location 20 minutes away on higley instead of Arizona Diagnostic Radiology a mile away. I will never go back. It started with receptionist being rude. Then when I had my ultrasound, the technician refused to do the ultrasound in the area where I am having problems. The ultrasound results came back, no trouble found. Of course, she did the ultrasound in the wrong area! Total waste of my time and money. Where to start. I made an appointment for 11am for X-rays. I was made to fill out paperwork before I came in which included pics of my drivers license and insurance card. When I got to the office 15 minutes before my appointment like every email and text asked me to do, I was asked again for my insurance card and drivers license. They again took pictures. Then I waited over an hour and 15 minutes before I approached the front desk to ask why I haven't been seen. The entire waiting room has emptied, loads of people checked in after me. She tells me X-rays are walk in only! Ha? Then why did you guys schedule me an appointment for X-rays? And why not tell me when I check in? I tell her that I have to leave by 12:30 because I have to get back to work. She then tells me that the wait is long because their machine had been down for a long time. None of this makes sense. Since they won't tell you but will make an appointment for you. They don't take appointments for X-rays. read more

I had an appointment for a foot MRI at 10:30 this morning. I arrived 15 minutes earlier as recommended. At 11:00 I was told their equipment was malfunctioning and would reschedule my appointment. Candice at the front desk was kind enough to reschedule and was apologetic about what happened. She rescheduled my appointment for The Dobson location later today. Because they have two locations on Dobson, I suggest they warn patients to prevent them from going to the wrong Dobson location. read more

Not entirely sure why this location has such a low rating. Every time I've been here the staff has been wonderful. Granted, the lobby is a bit busy and crowded, but considering how busy it always is, I've never waited for more than a few minutes. The front desk staff is professional and kind; I saw one of the workers go and sit in the lobby with an elderly couple to help them with their paperwork; another worker recognized the woman in front of me in line and asked specifically after her children. They kept things moving as fast as possible, despite the crowded lobby and perpetual line, and never acted flustered or annoyed. The tech who performed my ultrasound was just the best. She had the room set up in such a relaxing way with pleasant lights, which was a nice bit of peace after the hustle of the lobby. We had a lovely conversation about funky hair dye and I was in and out in no time, with a minimal amount of ultrasound gel gooping me up. Oh and she also had the gel pre-warmed so there was no shock of freezing cold gel! Like honestly, I cannot figure out the low ratings. They're so kind and professional and fast! When I was here with my son, they even printed up coloring pages to keep him occupied! read more

Your website needs to stipulate what time you stop accepting walk in X-rays. You refuse to let us make an appointment and then turn us away at 3:30 p.m. because it's too "late". Either start taking appointments or do the X-rays during the business hours indicated. Your front office staff was very rude and confrontational. There were only 3 others in the entire waiting area and the bone age scan we needed would have taken 5 minutes, at best. I worked in scheduling at a hospital for years. I was very dissatisfied. At the check in desk there was a hispanic woman sitting in the middle of the 3 ladies. She was training another women (young, very short bangs and glasses). The lady training was very impatient with her and frustrated in front of everyone checking in. It made me feel very uncomfortable and sorry for the young girl. Then when one of the patients approached the desk she rudely told her she wasn't ready for her and for her to get back in line and wait until she is called up. BTW, the 3rd young lady who checked me in was very kind and patient. Then when I went back for my chest CT the technician was an older African-American man (black hair with lots of grey in it and tall). He coldly greeted me. He told me to take off my necklace which I was having some difficulty with and I kept apologizing while he just stood there and didn't offer anything I might do to help me (such as using a mirror). I finally did ask for a bathroom where I used the mirror and took it off. He pointed to the table and told me go get on and put my head in the foam form on the table and put my hands over my head. He started the machine without any warning. When it was done, I struggled a bit to get off the table because I have a bad back. He did not offer to help. He said "Have a good day" as I exited and he didn't even direct me how to get out. He did not make eye contact with me at any time, before the proceedure he did not confirm who I was and his tone throughout the proceedure sounded very flat and scripted. In short, I could tell he was not happy to be there and honestly, neither was I. I will not go back to this location. I'd rather drive another 10 miles to be treated with care and kindness. read more

Never actually got to go to my appointment. Dr ordered a CT scan. First time they called to reschedule me because "they didn't have a technician available for my appointment" ok, no big deal, rescheduled for the following week. One week goes by and they call again telling me the same excuse. So I reschedule for the following week. They call me for the 3rd time in as many weeks giving me the SAME excuse. Additionally, each time you call it takes 20 min on the phone cause they want to verify EVERYTHING, some things I understand but I don't know my Drs office address and phone number off the top of my head and my insurance policy number. Before they pick up the phone it says "Please stay on the line for a brief survey" they always disconnect the call before you get to that point cause they know customer service is so horrible. Why are you making appointments with me if you know there's a good chance you can't keep them? I called my Drs telling them I need a new referral to a different imaging center and tell them they should stop referrals to Simon Med and they told me "yeah, we get a lot of complaints from them" My Dr wanted these scans done weeks ago, what if things are getting worse and it's not caught cause Simon Med can't keep their own appointments?! If you work for this place, you better polish up your resume because I can't imagine they will be in business much longer...at least I hope they aren't! read more

I needed a chest X-ray and CTScan. Front desk forgot to give me the contrast to drink which delayed my procedure. Also I was told by the X-ray tech that I'd have to reschedule the X-ray because I should have gotten it before drinking contrast. Honestly the incompetence is scary. read more

2 years later and many more appointments; nothing has changed. My Doctor is done ordering CT scans and set me up for an X-Ray. Good luck getting one here. My third attempt was today at 8:30 (earliest possible time) There were 2 people total in the waiting room. They told me to come back at 10:45 and they would see if they could fit one in. The front desk staff were all in the back (save for one) having a meeting. The lady at the front desk was curt and clearly was not enjoying being excluded from the fun. After I explained this was my 3rd attempt she told me don't bother coming here for an X-Ray, the Higley location is better because they only do X-Rays. This location is a joke, just go elsewhere. Even by Simon Med standards this place is poor. read more

Lady at front desk could not handle the check in process and was overwhelmed just trying to manage their system. I arrived 10 min early and checked in. 30 min after my appt time I asked if they were going to see me soon. After a lot of confusion, figured out the lady didn't check me in initially and the tech said she wouldn't take me because I checked in late. It was at this time they also asked if my doctor sent the order (which they did and found it after 5 min of searching the system). I needed to leave but already paid. This was a sweet and sour experience for me as I gave them 2 1/2 stars. SOUR: The 4 staff members at the front desk need to take a customer service 101 course. Nobody was smiling when helping patients. One guy had no idea what he was doing. The girl helping me did not acknowledge my hello as she wiped her nose snots on her sleeve and hand and then handed me some paperwork to fill out. Ewe!!!! They were not wearing appropriate clothing. Over all they were very unprofessional and not very well trained. SWEET: You guys fit me in for an MRI an hour after my doctor appt ended. The back staff MRI techs were great. Smiling, very friendly and made sure I was comfortable. I had no issues with back staff. In closing I will not recommend SimonMed Imaging in Apache Junction to anyone for anything. This is the second time I've left this kind of review within an 2 year period and it looks like front staff haven't improved any. read more

There are so many things wrong with this location! DO NOT recommend. Firstly the front counter staff is not friendly or welcoming. Secondly I had two Procedures scheduled back to back, 10;15 and 10:30. I arrived early and has my paperwork complete. First procedure went off well and I was told to go in waiting room for shunt series. People coming after me were getting in. When I asked I was told that walk ins take precedence over scheduled appts! Ridiculous! Also I asked for a copy of the rates to review, per their posted sign. The manager stated they were not available! Despite it being an AZ statute!!The manager, Dayna and the other front desk people are not friendly or helpful. The CT techs were great!! I went in for MRI early! Candice at the front desk was nice and ready to help even I was teasing her about her computer system telling me to come in half hour before my procedure. She continue to be friendly and polite, Good Job! Then, I met Kagney- MRI tech. He was very nice and explained everything to me and made sure I was comfortable. After the procedure I always ask a bunch of question as my mind is working during the process and he was AWESOME! Additionally, she needs some work in the "Patient care" field. I walked through the door without knowing where to check in, there was no clear indication, so I walked up to the only desk with 3 girls behind it. Two girls were already working with a patient so I walked to the lady in the middle, sat there for about 2 minutes until she slammed her hand on the desk and stood up to yell at me and say "Can't you see I'm busy??? I'm trying to deal with something you're going to have to sit down and wait." Excuse me? I'm just checking in.... for her to yell at me was not only unprofessional, but it was embarrassing. If I could give negative stars, I sure would give this location negative stars. The front desk had absolutely zero communication with patients. The receptionists did not follow through on their work nor did they let patients know services were running way way way behind (over 1 1/2 hrs behind). One of the receptionists even was using foul language. They couldn't even keep straight what I was there for or that I had already filled out paperwork. I asked for my money to be returned for the service that I was scheduled for but didn't receive because of terrible delays. They actually told me the copay would vary from day to day as the agreements between their company and the insurance are constantly changing (as if this were some sort of stock market). I got there 15 minutes early and filled out a 1 page info sheet. My appointment was for 10 am and I was seen before 10:15. Appointment was at 3:30 PM. We were told to be here by 3:00 PM to fill out the paperwork etc.Arrived @ 2:45 PM It's now 4:15 PM and were told by the two receptionists upfront that they're running behind. "Ya, think"??!! NOW, can't be seen until 5:30 PM ( they close at 5 PM). LOL I explained I have to have it done today! My options were: to have them call around to see if another location had an opening ( right?!!!) They wouldn't & I drove here from Gilbert! They claimed I could leave & come back? "No, Thanks"! They'd probably close the doors at 5! So, now we sit until we're seen!! One older gentleman got here at 1:30 PM and his appointment was at 2:00 PM. He literally was just now called back at 4:26 PM. Ridiculous!! I've seen people "come and go" I questioned that with the staffers & they claimed they're just X-rays?! This imaging Tech (" that's right" just ONE) is running behind as explained by the gal at the desk. She stated a woman came in earlier that didn't have an appointment, they "squeezed her in" & so that put everyone who had an appointment at least two or more hours out! "So much" for customer service! As I will reiterate what the older man that waited for 3 hours said: "so much for our healthcare system"! Went to this location for a walk-in X-ray. They do not accept appointments for them. The hours posted online are 7am - 5pm. I arrived at 4pm. Was informed that the X-ray technician stops doing X-rays at 4pm because she has other duties and paperwork. (This is her policy and not that of the company) I was then informed to come back as soon as they open and they will put me on a list of people that want X-rays. (Then why not just allow appointments be made?). I have a knee injury. I have surgery scheduled, hence the reason for the X-ray. I don't have the mobility and pain tolerance to keep coming back and waiting for who knows how long to be seen. The advertised hours should not be modified by an employee. This should be a company level decision. I was then told to go to Higley road location and maybe they can do it. "Maybe". If Simon med can't staff for X-rays they should stop advertising they perform this service. I will NEVER use Simon med for any services in the future. read more

I will give this place zero stars if possible! Marcy, the MRI technician is the rudest most inconsiderate piece of work I have ever seen in my entire life! She has a god complex and likes to play like she gets to make the decisions in peoples health with upcoming surgery, refusing testing. I have been rescheduled MULTIPLE TIMES because this place can't get their sh$t together and will not be back or give them another damn dime.
