I arrived with an empty lobby. For X rays you can't even schedule an appointment like a normal office. Instead it's walk in only. In spite of the fact that it was before 11am and I'm the only one here; I am still waiting and, still greeted by "receptionist" who can't manage one friendly word like Good Morning or Thank you. 2 other patients came in and they get the same lack of manners and friendly demeanor so guess that's the standard for her. Sitting at a desk in an air conditioned office typing must be pretty tough!

This photo is where Barbara clamped it on my chest and left it until I started crying

Barbara did my mammogram at the Ahwatukee location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I explained at the start that I had a neck surgery and it was difficult to turn my neck and also to raise my arm. She seemed in a big hurry and a little frustrated because I couldn't get immediately in the right position she wanted me in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She clamped the machine down on my breast and I told her that it was hurting really bad. She continued trying to keep my head in the right position and pushing my neck and not paying much attention to me. She didn't release the clamping until I started crying because the pain was so bad. I felt like I was an object rather than a person and that she was just trying to get her job done quickly and get me out of there. I have had mammograms annually for many many years and I have never had an experience like this. She was rough and she was hurrying in a way that was not needed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When she saw the mark she left on me she said oh your skin is just sensitive. You have a mark on your arm like that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Well, I do get some small red marks on my arm but Not from the results of any pain like that, and I've never had them on any other part of my body. I was having pain under my breast as well, but did not notice until later that I had a deep red mark there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When she was done, she never even apologized for what she did to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I seriously would never let her do another mammogram and I don't think she should be doing them for anybody.

One-Star Review of My Experience on Sunday…read more I recently had one of the most disappointing and unsettling experiences at this clinic, and I feel compelled to share my story. I went in this past Sunday due to chest pain and coughing up blood. I had made a reservation in advance, but I was still forced to wait 40 minutes past my scheduled time before anyone saw me. The nurse who took me back was visibly miserable, unfriendly, and appeared completely disengaged. Her demeanor made it clear she does not enjoy her job, which is not comforting for a patient in distress. When I finally saw the nurse practitioner, Abigail (or "Abby"), she was robotic and detached during the initial assessment. I explained that I had been sick for three days, felt terrible, and was coughing up blood-tinted mucus. She stated she would do a COVID test and initially dismissed the need for a chest x-ray. Only after I pressed the issue did she reluctantly agree to order one. After another long wait, the same unfriendly nurse escorted me to the x-ray, and 25 minutes later Abby returned to say the x-ray was clear. When I asked about the COVID test, she abruptly said she wouldn't perform one because "there was nothing they could do anyway." I was stunned. Having had COVID four times since the start of the pandemic, I know that antiviral treatments like Paxlovid exist. She incorrectly told me I couldn't receive it because I wasn't 50. I reminded her that individuals with comorbidities, such as being overweight, are eligible. She disagreed and refused to test me for COVID or flu. Abby sent me on my way after writing five prescriptions--without any meaningful discussion on how to take them. In fact, the pharmacist later informed me that two of the medications should not be taken together. When I got home, I performed my own COVID and flu tests, which immediately returned positive for Flu A. I then had to consult telehealth to get Tamiflu prescribed, wasting additional time and money while I was already feeling awful. The lack of empathy, poor medical judgment, and refusal to provide basic standard care were astounding. I spent more money on tests and follow-up care that should have been handled at the clinic during my visit. To add insult to injury, when I submitted feedback through the clinic's survey, I received a canned apology from "Banner Leadership" that addressed nothing. The neglect I experienced is incomprehensible and unacceptable for a healthcare provider. The fact that this organization is responsible for the health of Arizonans is deeply concerning, and I am seriously considering filing a formal complaint with the state. Rating: 1 Star - A frustrating, neglectful, and disheartening experience.

I am writing to share my concerns about the walk‑in x‑ray service at your Kyrene location. I have…read morevisited this facility several times because it is the closest to my home, yet I have repeatedly been redirected to other locations despite arriving within posted hours and being told that walk‑ins are accepted. On multiple occasions, including earlier today during my lunch break, the front desk informed me that the clinic was too busy and advised me to go to the Ahwatukee location instead. After work, I returned to Kyrene at 4:28pm. There was only one person ahead of me, and the clinic was still open for another 30 minutes. However, I was again told that they had already taken their "last patient" for the day and that I needed to go elsewhere. I then drove to the Dobson location in Mesa, where I arrived at 4:47pm. I checked in, made my payment, and had my x‑ray completed by 5:02pm. The entire process took only a few minutes, which made it even more confusing why Kyrene could not accommodate me under similar circumstances. I understand that staffing levels and workflow can vary, but the inconsistency between what Kyrene advertises and what patients actually experience is concerning. If walk‑ins are not consistently accepted or if there is an earlier cutoff time, clearer communication would help prevent unnecessary travel, time lost, and frustration. I am sharing this feedback in hopes that the clinic can improve transparency around walk‑in availability and ensure that patients receive consistent and reliable service across all locations. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I appreciate your time and hope this helps improve the experience for future patients.

This review is a running commentary of my initial visit today (6/13/2016). I arrived 20 minutes…read moreearly for my 3pm appointment with Dr Rogers, so I could fill out the required new patient paperwork. It is presently 3:45pm and I am still grumpily ensconced in the small waiting area for my appointment. So far, the only positive thing is the receptionist; she is very friendly and positive with everyone I have seen pass through the office (about 5 people so far). At 3:49pm, my name is called and I walk with the medical assistant into an exam room. Ruth, the med assistant, takes my vitals and leaves, telling me the doctor will be with me shortly. A couple minutes later, Dr Rogers walks in. Honestly, I'm a little unimpressed because he does not look like he's in great shape....and yet he's supposed to be telling his patients how to be healthy. He's a nice enough guy and was receptive to my questions, but didn't offer any enlightening responses. My reasons for visiting included getting a pulmonary breath test to check for (exercise induced) asthma and to see if I may have food allergies that may be contributing to bloating. Dr Rogers sent me to another room for the breath test -- the assistant in this room was not very pleasant and I had to wonder if she enjoyed her job at all -- then Ruth the 1st med assistant drew some blood (icky). I left the office at 4:30pm. I spent way more time waiting and doing paperwork than speaking with any one person. I like the location of the clinic because it is close to home, but one staff person could be a bit more "professionally pleasant" and appointments could be spaced out more so that patients aren't waiting for almost an hour. In the business world, being almost an hour late for a meeting is unacceptable. Why do we tolerate lateness when at the doctor's office?

After getting checked in for a possible broken elbow, vitals were taken and MD examined. We were told the xray tech was in with someone and we would be next. We sat there for over an hour (I can't imagine one set of X-rays took an hour). X-rays were finally taken in less than 5 mins. Then after sitting another 30 mins, I asked how long it would be until someone could look at the xray. I was told "this is the part that takes a while" and that I "was lucky they were still on the day schedule because the night time wait time can be up to 4 hours." We waited about 20-30 mins then asked again how long it would be. They couldn't give me a TAT so we got up and left. We were there for over 2.5 hours to have 3 X-rays taken. And who knows how much longer it would have taken to have someone read the X-rays. I don't believe there were a large number of patients there at the time. The parking lot only had a few cars, waiting room was empty and the nurses desk outside the exam room had the same nurses/techs/MDs sitting there our entire wait.
