From making the initial appointment, the initial testing, clear outline of what the process was and what to expect, any concerns were alleviated. In fact, Dr. Chew advised against getting the more expensive lens as it was not suitable for me. When I arrived for the surgery, the process was simple and very efficient and the actual process seemed like it was only 15 minutes. Had my right eye done, which was so blurry, I could barely see. Absolutely amazed at the result. Had the left eye done one month later, again, perfect and I was already working on the same day on my computer. Highly recommended.

A few years ago I was referred by my Optometrist to see Dr. Wade for cataract surgery for my left eye. Through careful and precise pre-op check up, Dr. Wade found in my right eye that I had crystals (talk about really sparkly eyes haha) and a portion of my retina had detached. I was rushed in surgery for the retina by a colleague of Dr. Wade's (Dr. Ma). I had back to back surgery, one for each eye. That was two months of sporting what looking like a really bad sucker punch to the face! I went back to see Dr. Wade today for another follow up (two years since the operations). Again, he was professional and informative. There is something about his personality that will put you at ease. Be ready to wait a LONG time to get an appointment with Dr. Wade though. Yes he is THAT good!! his wait list can be a year long!!!

I received exceptional care from 2 employees today. Because my morning had been stressful, I arrived at the office having forgotten to remove my contact lenses. The receptionist kindly helped me resolve this problem and also provided me with a face mask. But what happened following my consultation with the doctor was truly amazing. Because my eyes were dilated and my vision seriously impaired, I could not use my phone to call an Uber and I really needed a ride because it was snowing. An assistant named Alberto leapt to my assistance, offering to book a pick-up on my behalf. When he accessed the app on my phone, we discovered my credit card information needed updating. He helped me through this process in private and then input my request for a ride. When the driver was on the way, which took only a couple of minutes, he offered to accompany me down on the elevator and out onto the street so that he could ensure the car arrived and I actually got into it. We stood on the street corner in the snow (him shivering without a jacket), his fingers flying on the screen to indicate to the driver our exact location. Bingo, the car arrived within seconds and he helped me into the rear seat. I couldn't escape the feeling that I must have come across as a seriously foolish and inept old woman. But I don't believe Alberto thought that at all. He is simply a very kind man, dedicated to doing his best for all the patients, and happy to go out of his way to help a senior overcome some obstacles. This experience restored my faith in the milk of human kindness.

Patients crowded on chairs in the hallway, too! They did very quick testing. Dr. Sexton comes into the room and deadpans, " You have glaucoma." I knew that I did not. So, I played along. I said, "I didn't take the drops because I do not have glaucoma." She just was absolutely so deadpan, I wondered if she was a robot. No reaction. I went to my usual opthamologist. I arrived at my scheduled appointment time only to be told by the receptionist that the office was…read moreclosed today . When I told the receptionist that I was booked for an appointment on this date he briskly replied that my appointment had been cancelled. I did not receive any contact from this office to advise that my appointment had been cancelled. The attitude of the receptionist was extremely unprofessional . I left the office and only when walking away did I think of checking to ask how they attempted contact so I returned to make an enquiry. Upon returning the receptionist seemed irritated that I was back and when I asked how contact was attempted they responded " I closed your file , now I'm going to have to open it again." It was clear this was a bit more effort than this person wanted to make. In essence the email they used was incorrect, and even though they had my phone number no attempt was made to ensure contact. There were some other pieces of the conversation that I won't take up space with, however it was the condescending tone of voice and attitude that prompted me to write this review. This person was rude, condescending and disrespectful towards myself. They indicated that they would be the person performing some of the procedure I was booked for. In that light and with a strong sense that the front desk staff is an indicator of the tone of the office I made the decision to decline any appointment at this office, I returned to my optometrist who referred me to ask for a referral to another ophthalmologist outlining my reasons for the request. I have never written a review before but then again I've never felt the need to .

The receptionist Wendy should be fired!!!…read more On Nov. 27, 2023, I received a phone call, and a lady informed me that my appointment scheduled for tomorrow was canceled at the last minute, and a new appointment could be scheduled for Dec. 13th. However, upon receiving the email confirmation, I noticed that the date is Dec. 20th, which is very confusing for me. So, I made a phone call to Dr. Alfonso Iovieno's office immediately to confirm. The receptionist Wendy was very rude to me over the phone. She was uncertain about which staff member I spoke with to schedule me on Dec. 13th. I tried to describe that lady to her to jog her memory, so she could double-check for me. However, her response was very rude. She stated that it's not proper for me to describe the lady to her. She rudely stopped me to check why my new appointment was scheduled two different dates. Does she fully understand the code of conduct working in the healthcare industry? Has she received proper training for this position? Her behavior is absolutely not professional and is not suitable for working in healthcare settings, especially with patients who are already experiencing physical and emotional pressure. To the owner/management team of this clinic: You can either train your receptionist more effectively or consider hiring a new staff member instead of Wendy. A bad attitude can severely damage your clinic's reputation.
