I brought my laptop to PC Mechanix and they said they could have a look and it would maybe be a few days only. I got a call a few days later and they said the motherboard was fried and needed to be replaced which I fully agreed to although they recommended getting a new laptop since it was an older model and might be cheaper than the repair itself.
