This is the second time I have had bad customer experience. I had to call them to get updates, nobody called me back when they said they would, I think they were backed up and took too long to look at my car, and I just don't trust them any more with the diagnosis. I am very annoyed at disappointed with this whole experience. Here's the story:
6/24/24 (Monday):
* I brought my car into the shop around 7:20 AM. I had an appointment at 1:00 PM.
* I let them know I was there for a battery check but also my engine light just popped on. I let them know I took the car to O'Reillys and the issue was a low pressure on the turbo charger. The service guy took my info and said they'd call me once they looked at it.
* I did not hear back from anyone so I called at 3:03 PM. They said they were looking at the car and needed more time to run diagnostics on it so they would need to keep the car overnight. They then said they would call me on Tuesday before noon with what is going on
6/25/24 (Tuesday):
* I did not hear from anyone in the morning so I called at 2:05 PM. Talked to the Receptionist at 2:05 PM, asked for Heather, got transferred, got a message saying the person is not available and was hung up on.
* Talked to the Receptionist at 2:06 PM, she said Heather was at lunch, said Heather would call me right back.
* I didn't receive a call so I called back at 3:36 after some meetings at work. Talked to Heather and she said that the techs were looking at it. I let her know that I was not happy. The car has been with them for over 24 hours and we're at the same spot we were 24 hours ago. I'm not sure if they just started looking at the car today or if they looked at it yesterday, nobody seems to know and nobody will call and tell me what is happening. Heather said that she would talk to the tech and find out and call me back soon.
* I didn't receive a call "soon" so I called back at 4:17 PM. The receptionist transferred me to Heather, the phone said the person is not available and was hung up on.
* I called back at 4:19 PM. The receptionist transferred me to Heather, the phone said the person is not available and was hung up on.
* I called back at 4:20 PM and asked to talk to anyone in the service area since Heather's phone will not pick up. I am not sure who I got in contact with but it was not Heather. I told her I was sorry that I needed to complain to her but I then proceeded to tell her my story so far and in essence, here we are at 4:20 PM and I still don't know what is going on with my car and absolutely nobody calls me back. She then said she'd go find Heather so I got put on hold. She came back and said she was transferring me but then she accidentally hung up on me.
* This person did call me back a few minutes later (4:25 PM). I was then transferred to Heather. I had another chat with Heather who basically told me that the car is actively being looked at. I lost my cool a little as this was the same answer I heard 24 hours ago. She told me that she would let Brian the service manager know and he'd call me back when he can. I let them know that to date, I have only received 1 call and that was because the person just hung up on me. She said that Brian is definitely calling me back.
* At 5:00 PM, Brian, the service manager called me back. I gave him my thoughts on where things were. He said that on Monday, he gave the car to the (I think) tech guy as there was possibly a code that could be worked on. He said the tech guy said it was not a code and would need to go to the mechanics. He then said that Tuesday, the mechanics would look into it but they might have pushed him too hard and he did a quick fix which did not work. This sounded like they were backed up with work and didn't have a lot of time to properly work on my car and were rushing things, not something you want to hear from your mechanic. The mechanic then needed to look at the car again and it would need to stay overnight. Brian then promised that he would call me before 10:00 AM on Wednesday. I said OK and hung up with him.
6/26/24:
* 10:00 AM came and went so I waited longer.
* 11:41 AM, I received a text, I'm assuming from Brian. it said, he's doing the last drive cycle, but it's looking like the turbo is the fault. I will call with an estimate when he returns with confirmation.
* 1:23 PM, I received a call from Brian. He said that the issue is with the turbo itself. They tried replacing a solenoid or something and that did not work and there was a leaky oil line on the inside of the turbo. It would cost $3,600 to fix. I said no thanks, I will be taking my car somewhere else.
All of my angst and frustration could have been solved if anyone from Price Ford would have just been giving me updates. I've taken my car here a few times and it's 50 - 50 on if there will be good customer service or not and now I am not even sure their doing a quality job or not if they're pushing their mechanics too hard. read more
