Absolutely terrible food. Burger was dry and burnt. The bacon on the burger was black. The seasoned fries were clearly dropped in the fryer several times. They forgot to give me the nacho cheese sauce and the extra one i ordered and paid for. Roast beef was over cooked, tough and chewy. Simards use to be great now it's not edible. Food is always amazing. Only problem is no matter how many times you ask for bbq sauce, even if they say to remind them at the window, and I do. I still NEVER get bbq sauce!!!! I went through tonight 3/7 @ 10:30 the girl at the window spent about 5 minutes texting on her phone before she took my $$ then another 5 min after texting again before giving me my food and I reminded her about the bbq sauce. Simard's is fast food, through and through. If you're in the mood for it, they've got whatever fast food staple you're looking for - chicken sandwhiches, tacos, burgers, fries, all that. Nothing here is particularly amazing, but it's satisfying, and there's definitely nights when I've been working late and just want some grub. Their roast beef is solid. It's a little plain, but it's filling and you can have them add barbeque sauce to give it some flavor. I'd probably say their tacos are my favorite item - just greasy and crunchy and delicious. People here are super nice and super accomidating. Probably the main reason I think of this place is that I know it'll be a good fast food experience. read more

I went in very hungry. Simard's is highly recommended in the area. I decided to try their Pastrami. It was small. It was made on a hamburger bun. They only had yellow mustard. An onion bun would have cost a dollar more. The supermarket across the street would have been a better deal. read more

I haven't been here in over 10 years but just moved back to the area. We used the drive-thru and while the cashier had a mask on, we saw the cook had his nose outside of his mask and another worker was standing in the kitchen and not wearing a mask at all. When asked about it, the cashier pretended she didn't hear our question and when she finally did, she gave some ridiculous excuse saying it's because they were "talking"...LOL Um you can TALK with your mask on. We had already paid for our food but it freaked us out so much. We ended up microwaving and putting the food in the oven when we got home just to be safe. The food was great but we will not be returning because Covid-19 cases are at an all time high and my mother is elderly and I am high-risk. I already barely survived Covid and I was a young, healthy person but I have long-term health complications from it now. I love the food at Simard's, their hours are what make them so popular, usually the only place open so late. I don't know if they got new management or what but years ago they used to load up their roast beef sandwiches, now it's basically a junior beef portion on any sandwich you get. This is the kind of roast beef that I miss by living in the Dallas area. No one offers rare shaved beef on an onion roll. I should probably start my own restaurant one of these days. Anyways, these guys are open late, they are fast, they offer good food for a bit of a higher price....but I was willing to pay it because of all the factors involved. It was almost midnight when I stopped in. Nothing else was open except a convience store and a gas station, I wanted great roast beef. Simard's provided what was needed, when it was needed. "Ahhhhh Simmmarrddsss!!!" That's what my friends and I say when one of us mentions Simard's; It just happens. I've been coming here since I was a wee teen breaking curfew on terms with the devil's lettuce, but you don't have to be such a rebel to enjoy their satisfyingly greasy, late-night (their drive-thru is open until 1:30-3:00am, depending on the night), whatever-you-want food. Um, can we get some regular beefs, tacos, fries, and a pizza roll? Thanks! This place is not for the pretentious, more for the ravenous (and definitely for the spirituous). I've actually had Simard's a few times during daylight, and it's still just as good, if just a little too greasy for my diurnal appetite. This is one of the places I've really missed since I moved to NC. A friend from high school and I debated over which was better, Simards or Harrisons Roast Beef in North Andover. I love Simards and find their food delicious. I've noticed though that they're prices have gone up. But then again I've been going to simards since I was in the single digits, so inflation was assumed. My favorite thing to order at Simards: 2 Junior Beefs with heavy sauce Order of seasoned fries with cheese 1 medium root beer I visit family in that area during the holidays. I usually opt for a medium (or large) beef and top it with lettuce, tomato, onions, horseradish sauce, and barbecue sauce. The barbecue sauce has a small amount of kick to it. Everybody and their brother offers "the best Roast Beef around" not only in Wilmington, but in many New England towns. Simard's might not be exactly that, but it is a pretty great little fast-food shack that's got a huge menu, quick service, cheap prices, and good cuts of meat. I usually get the Regular Pastrami (the "super" doesn't give you more meat, it just gets put on an Onion Roll) and Onion Rings. It's a more-than-solid choice when you're looking for lunch around the North Reading / Wilmington area. Yumminess! I recently moved away from Simards and now live next door to Harrison's Roast Beef in North Andover. Simard's is definitely better than Harrison's. Their menu is more diverse and they actually take credit cards which is more convenient than having to carry cash. I also loved that when I got stuck at the office and was driving home at 11pm I could still stop at Simards and get actual food instead of having to go to Dunkin Donuts or stop to grab something at a convenience store. read more

Very disappointed. I ordered a soda and a cheeseburger. The soda was flat so I asked for another. When I got my order and started off I turned around and went back. The burger was RAW and the soda was warm. I gave them back to them and said they could keep them, the money and I would never come back. If you are out late this is the place to hit up the drive through is open late until I think 3am, which is great! This place is not the place to go if you are looking for healthy low cal foods. It is the place to go for some of the best roast beef around! My personal favorite is the supreme beef on a regular roll, which they will do for you. More beef plus you don't have to have that onion roll which is a PLUS. Things that are good here are the roast beef, chicken fingers, fries & pizza rolls. Simard's in my mind was never designed for daily eating...it was designed for the late night, heading back home from the festive beverage serving establishment snack break. They have a variety of reasonably (cheaply) priced options ranging from pizza rolls to french fries to Roast Beef sammies. This is not the place you go to get dinner...it's where you go when what you need is the greasy goodness. I highly recommend it for late night dining. I have been a regular at simards for a few years even tho the service is bad and slow. But I learned when good people were working so try and go when I see those people when I drive by. I usually go towards the end of the week during the day because the tall brunette girl at the window is on point she's quick,polite,wears a mask/gloves, and has never screwed up my order, she always tells me what is in the bag and lets me check the bags before I pull away. So if you see a brunette with a mask on you will get good service! I also have learned the cook with the red beard always cooks my food perfect and is extremely fast. I obviously go for the food but I'm a bartender at night so I appreciate good service too. But I rolled the dice today with this new blonde girl who was beyond awful!!! I ordered 2 sandwiches 1 drink at the speaker, I pull up to the window 14 minutes later and she asks me what my order was and then repeats it to the cook n slams the window. She opens it so I can pay and I usually tip after I get my food, she realizes I didn't tip her and became super rude!!! To top it off my food took 18 minutes to come out, to top it off old blondie did not have a mask or gloves on, kept staring at her hair which was down with no hair net and fixing her makeup in the reflection of the window. I discovered roast beef sandwiches around 2002 which really is a shame for a born and bred Massachusetts boy. I had Italian beef in Chicago which honestly doesn't compare and is a experience no one should miss but unfortunately it can't seem to be replicated out of the city. Ok back to roar beef holy trinity cheese sauce mayo ( and radish). Harrison's cooks a med rare in house roast puts it on an onion roll ( for large no reason to order anything else) and drops you toppings. There seems to be some concern in previous reviews in regards to staff politeness. I have never had anyone speak rudely to me but if your the type who needs a reassuring smile. Special recognition that you were able to place an order for a sandwich fries and a coke this isn't the place for you. These men and women are busy and all orders are called verbally notice the sandwich makers rarely look at slips. I can also remember at lunch there were employees with special needs working. I thought the owners were two bothers older guys biker look that make a darn good sandwich give back to their community and apparently do well by their employees because there doesn't seem to be much turn over. I love when reviewers bing up other places in comparison. Those of you who love roast beef X that's great eat there support them. I like Harrison's I eat here I also eat at other roast beef places.
