Silverstate Locksmith promptly scheduled a Monday morning appointment, but was unfortunately delayed. However, upon arrival the technician examined the door/lock and explained the handle/lock required a "code" or sequence to operate the lock. Upon demonstrating the sequencing code the lock and key worked as it had been designed. The charge for the service provided was limited to a service call, which was reduced due the delayed arrival. Silverstate Locksmith set me up with a new key fob for my car after my old one broke many months ago. Scheduling the work was easy thanks to how quickly they responded via Yelp. Once they began working, they discovered my ignition had unexpected wear and tear, so they had to call in help from their Automotive Locksmith to dig deeper into the ignition. The work ended up taking longer than expected, but a few hours later my new key fobs were rocking and rolling. Their team even called me afterwards to make sure everything was good to go. That extra communication is a nice touch. Later that evening, I drove my car and noticed a new grinding sound when turning the steering wheel. It's a very slight plastic bumping/grinding sound when the steering wheel is turned at a certain angle. It's a minor cosmetic issue that doesn't affect the function of my car, but it was clearly related to the ignition work. As soon as I noticed that noise, I called and left a message with the Automotive Locksmith and asked him to please call me back. That was weeks ago and I have not heard from him. The noise is very minor and I have learned to live with it; at this point I'm not sure it's worth the hassle of scheduling follow-up work. But I am disappointed the Locksmith didn't call me back. Because the rest of the Silverstate team was responsive and helpful and I think my situation is unique, I still recommend Silverstate for routine needs like lockouts. But I wish the Locksmith didn't leave me hanging. read more
