We were trying to get seasonal rates from this park to compare to nearby parks. We were initially told that a six month stay would be nearly $12,000. I knew that had to be wrong because a comparable nearby CalAm park was half that amount for the same timeframe. After several calls to the same office I finally reached someone who knew their rates. Apparently the first person I spoke with mistakenly thought the fall special of $1728 was per month. I told her I was sure that was wrong but she insisted. I even pointed out that Mesa Regal was half that amount. But she insisted that Valle de Oro was much better and had many more amenities. That statement also turned out not to be true. After visiting both I'll admit that we liked Valle de Oro somewhat better but NOT $6000 better. When I was finally about to reach someone who knew the correct rates she explained that $1728 was NOT per month but that was the rate for the entire "fall special." Very frustrating when you are trying to make plans. Another example. We wanted to reserve a specific site to be near friends. We were told that would be fine but then we receive an invoice that clearly said that the park reserved the right to change our site at anytime. Guest services Ed was never able to explain that discrepancy. All of the above caused us to reconsider whether Valle de Oro was right for us.

We generally prefer more rustic settings. However, it was a great place to get some work done, do laundry and some errands around town. The park is new and very clean. The sites are large, level and very easy to get in and out of. Each site comes with a trash and recycling receptacle, which is incredibly convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. The laundry room was large and clean and takes credit cards, which is way more comfortable than quarters. Although Monte Vista is also a mobile home park, the RV park is totally separate, which we prefer. We've noticed that parks with long term or permanent residents just aren't as friendly. Our stay was so good we purchased a Thousand Trails membership and stayed again for a week when our Airstream was finished.

You can socialize with neighbors or keep to yourself, your choice, I mostly stay to myself and it's very pleasant here. Year rate is the way to go, there was a raise to it a year back, I hope no further raises for a few years . I recommend you pay 2 or more years in advance to be sure you lock in current price. I really enjoy it here, been here going on 3 years now. There is no issues with sewer like someone posted many years ago, that was a one off issue it sounded like, 3 years now and everything is great here, no issues. Management is always doing various upgrades and maintenance. Highly recommend you grab a spot and do yearly, do it quick before there are no spots available. Best price on propane is right around the corner on Ironwood, closed to all stores, great convenient location.

For the price of a site and today's gadgets the Wifi should be blazing fast. Most people have to pay for an outside service in order to conduct any business. YouTube is impossible even in the recreation room. This is ridiculous in 2025 for this quality of a Resort. Also, in the laundry room only 3 of 8 washers and 2 of 8 dryers were working. The current managers are very nice and good however the company that owns the park is not responsive to the people that pay their rents.

We were welcomed by the resort managers, given our mailbox keys, name badges and welcome packet. Upon reading the material, some of the rules seem a bit restrictive, but I guess I can understand that they want to keep the resort nice. I cannot review any of the amenities, i.e. pool, laundry, library, workout room, as I haven't used any of them yet, but from what I understand the pool is open 24 hours.
