We just completed a 6 month stay in the Monte Vista RV Resort absolutely loved it! The amenities are numerous, including softball, Pickleball, tennis, pools, hot tubs, shuffleboard, lots of card games, and a bowling league! The RV section of the resort is very new and super nice! Lori and Pam, who both work in the RV office, are very helpful and nice! We will definitely return!! read more

We stayed at Monte Vista RV Resort for a few days before an appointment at Airstream for some maintenance and repairs. We weren't expecting much for a park in very urban Mesa. We generally prefer more rustic settings. However, it was a great place to get some work done, do laundry and some errands around town. The park is new and very clean. The sites are large, level and very easy to get in and out of. Each site comes with a trash and recycling receptacle, which is incredibly convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. The laundry room was large and clean and takes credit cards, which is way more comfortable than quarters. Although Monte Vista is also a mobile home park, the RV park is totally separate, which we prefer. We've noticed that parks with long term or permanent residents just aren't as friendly. Our stay was so good we purchased a Thousand Trails membership and stayed again for a week when our Airstream was finished. read more

So my experience is a bit different from what most people who go to an RV resort would experience. I came as a guest to a family that currently resides there. We spent all our time in the commons area so I'll share my experiences: - Pool/spa area - very clean... was I even at an RV resort. Peep my photo. You may question if I was at an RV resort. The cabana was comfortable. There were grills on the perimeter for the of the pool where we were able to grill food. The restrooms were clean as well. I was able to take a shower and didn't cringe at the cleanliness of anything in the restroom. They even had a sauna that said it was 200+ degrees inside. I believed that it was 100% true. - Adjacent to the pool was an open venue where they hold concerts. It looked very new. There was a ping pong table that we played on for a bit. In another building there were some 10+ pool tables that we played as well. When it was time to leave, we decided to drive through the resort to get a feel of what some of the permanent residences were like. Looks as though they are pouring money into the resort and most folks appeared to put a lot of TLC into their properties. RVs aren't really my thing but if I were traveling with someone and we needed to make a stop, this place would be nice. Of course, there were some mountain views... always a plus! read more

I had my reservations about a month, then you canceled them about 2 days before I was to leave home - the reason being that my 2020 Winnebago Travato was not big enough. Beautiful Park. Wonderful pools hot tubs. If you have a pet dog this is the park you want to be at beautiful dog Park. Unfortunately the women that work at the main office and the clubhouse are extremely rude and not helpful at all. Not much as far as amenities go because the rooms are very small and the tables can only hold about three four people. This is your Park if you like baseball pickleball and tennis. Wish the RV sites hadn't gone up so much for next season. read more

Nothing like rude management! I rented a mobile unit here to stay for 3 nights for thanksgiving. We know it's a 55+ community and had been here before and being our senior mother with us and they never asked for her ID when checking in. Last night, our booking agent made a mistake with the room number and we could not check in. So they called the manager Teresa. They fixed the room issue but now she was adamantly asking for our senior, who we had left at the thanksgiving party. Again, no one but her checks the ID thing. Well, we agreed to come back later to check in. We did come back after dinner with our senior but she forgot her purse so we offered to show a picture of her ID since a family member could send it to us. They refused and rudely asked for a physical copy and mentioned some "federal law" as if we were trying to enter some jail or some military facility. We were all tired and frustrated by this point carrying our 1y/o who was tired and wanted to go to sleep. We decided to stay at our family's home for the night and come back in the morning to try to check in again. I'm the morning we came and security didn't even ask for ID and checked us in (like they always have done). Well to our surprise, Teresa shows up that same day at 12:30am claiming we had "trespassed" and telling us to leave immediately. They said "you have 5 minutes to pack and leave". My husband even tried to explain the situation and informed that we had our 1y/o sleeping to what she replied "too bad" and said she had called the cops. While we were packing, cops showed up and they felt bad for us and told us and explained that they thought this was all a misunderstanding due to a "loophole" in how people who are not 55+ come and stay here without permission. We didn't even put resistance to leave, in fact we wanted to get out of there because of the unwelcoming and rude vibe since the night before. The audacity to disturb us in the middle of the night was the last of it. We are a decent family and we do not disrespect anyone but this Teresa person acted and treated us like we were criminals. We payed for our stay. We were not disturbing anyone. We checked in. We had our baby with us and she couldn't wait until the morning to resolve this issue. I hope she reads this because I didn't get a chance to tell her she is an UNEDUCATED person with no CONSIDERATION or COMMON SENSE. Police have real criminals to go after. And Teresa should really focus on giving this place welcoming and kind vibe not a hostile one! Yes this place has inconsistent rules. Yes management is rude. And yes, they treat non residents differently. Bonus: they are inconsiderate to children. I just wonder how they treat their seniors. Never...coming...here...again! if you dont mind sporadic water turn offs with no notice and inconsistant mangerial restrictions, then move in.

Today we were very blessed by the work of the management here at Monta Vista to allow us to extend our stay because of Covid. We were dreading having to move for one week and drive 150 miles each way next week as both of us are still a bit sick and very fatigued. The folks here worked quickly to extend our stay, but also to shuffle things around so we do not even need to move our of our site. This is a true RV resort and I am sorry that we are not able to use their great amenities, but we do have a front row seat to their softball games. Did I say that they have their own softball field, tennis, pickle ball, pools, and so much more here. This is our favorite Encore so far and we have been coming here for the last two years. Geriatric trailer park. That's what this place is. Run down, saggy beds, no view, modular homes from the 80s. I cannot believe they have "resort" in the title. Also, we found racist comments in the game room/pool hall area. We called the company we booked with - Holiday Systems International, which claims to offer "luxury resorts" - and they didn't really care that it was a rundown trailer park with racist comments. Great property. But the adult only spa always has children in it, sometimes as many as 6+, some in diapers. We went everyday to spa and everytime kids. There's a sign clearly posted: "No one under 16 years of age". What a joke, take the sign down if your not going to enforce-plz. read more

Spent two nights here this week. Is a nice park but they are really really proud of it. Two nights RV parking was $234.00. Not very likely to return at that price. They must be only interested in long term parking people. read more

We've stayed in their RV resort in the past, and recently referred family who is staying with them as we speak. I called to make a reservation and learn that they are now practicing age discrimination, and only allow 55+. I used to speak so highly of them and now they have become a great disappointment. My husband and I are lucky to be semi-retired at ages 46 and 50 respectively, don't have children or dogs, and are quiet, respectful guests, yet they are turning away our business solely based on our age. We travel to RV resorts around the country and know that there are plenty of ways to weed out undesirable guests, so a blanket-ban such as this is shameful. read more

Absolutely horrible. Rude office guy. NO CHECK INS AFTER DARK- ABSOLUTELY NO NOTIFICATION OF THE RULE PRIOR TO ARRIVAL NOR IS IT LISTED ANYWHERE ON THOUSAND TRAILS. I was given an electrical outlet in a parking lot as my "site". The office guy sam refused to give me any manager contact info or even tell me when one would be in. My wife and I took an RV roadtrip around the southwest and had to return our rental in Phoenix, so we spent our last night here. We arrived about 4:00 on Labor Day and there were only a few RVs in the entire park (which is nothing more than a paved parking lot with no trees, shade, or vegetation to speak of). The place was essentially deserted and there was no one in the office and no one answering the phones. A young security guard made a call and was able to secure us a spot for the evening, but strangely it had to be in one of 3 or 4 spots that he designated notwithstanding there were hundreds of spots open. No biggie, just odd; we were leaving early in the morning anyway. The main pool area was nice with a hot tub and clean bathrooms, but it was a bit of a walk from where we had to park for the night across from the guard shack. There was a second smaller pool near the front office that was nice, but in a small cramped space. The park has no natural ambiance whatsoever, it is just a parking lot with a couple pools attached. There is no privacy and nothing else to do. We were instructed to pay at the front office the next day and it would open at 9:00 (we had to drop the RV off in Phoenix and catch an 11:30 flight). The office lady finally arrived around 9:20 and it took about 15 minutes to pay and I was the only one there (it took three times to explain that we arrived when no one was there and the young guard obtained permission to check us in for the night, and that completely threw her off of her routine). As I left I asked if there was a dumpster that we could drop off a single half filled garbage bag and she said we should have been provided a can when we checked in (but weren't), but there was a can we could use behind the guard shack. Great, we were parked near the guard shack. When we put the garbage in the can, an older guard (the rudest ignoramus that I've had to deal with in a long time) emerges from the shack with a hostile attitude because we were using his precious garbage can as instructed by the office lady. All in all, this place was just a pit stop on the road of life and would already be erased from my mind, but for the ignorant older guard. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would! We are Thousand Trails members with Trails Collection package which allows us to use Encore parks. This is an Encore park. We made our reservations well ahead of time. On the day of arrival they canceled our reservation, without warning, due to our rig being TOO SHORT! Too short? Who does that?! They wouldn't even let us stay for one night so that we could figure out what to do and make other arrangements. There's NOTHING on the reservations page about rig size restrictions (or even the year for that matter). You have to enter that information when you make the reservation. They KNEW what size our rig was, but never contacted us to let us know they wouldn't let us stay there. Worst customer service ever. We called Thousand Trails Member Services to complain. We got into Mesa Spirit RV Park (another Encore) with no problems. Apparently, this is the second time in a week that Monte Vista turned people away like this. read more

This place is the most unfriendly RV resort I've ever been to so says I and my wife. Greeted at the gate by the guard, Sam, Who acted like a gestapo storm trooper. Very unfriendly raising his voice treated us like we were idiots. We Had a reservation and was instructed by Sam to pull forward and wait until the other guard return, as he was guiding in a fifth wheel. During the wait Sam informed us that we were assigned a back in location and " It was impossible to back in safely (about 8pm). We waited for an hour and 10 minutes until the other guard returned (along with the fifth wheel he was escorting). We were instructed to wait until they both returned after parking the fifth wheel. Upon Sam's return we were informed to follow him to The new location that was safe to maneuver during darkness. We arrived in the new resort area Which was very nice and Which was very nice and very large space for our 42' Big horn 5 slide. We were instructed to call the office in the morning. My wife and I set up our position completely and called it a night as we were very tired. Received a call 9 AM from the main office (Carol) and was instructed to Pack up and prepared to move to a new location, I asked if it was really necessary, Carol stated yes we cannot let anyone stay in this area as it isn't completed at this time, pool house laundry room etc. wasn't Up and ready.We asked Carol's why we had to move as there were 15 to 20 other RVs set up and using the new area around us. We were told all amenities are not completed and it is a State Ordinance ordinance and couldn't allow any more in, I asked for the State Ordinance number Carol then change it to a County Ordinance, she then changed it again to a City Ordinance and finally just said the corporate office said no more. I asked for exception to policy as they were 15 or 20 other RVs already set up here. Carol said I had a choice pack up and go to another location or leave with a very rude tone of voiceI, I Explained that it was very hard on me to Set up and breakdown camp as I am a 50% disabled veteran, once again I was told to leave or move to another location. I filmed all the other Rv's set up and also talked with these folks Informed me that they are regulars that pay a six-month Advance fees. Note that this time was Thanksgiving eve and my wife had a lot of preparation that she was starting. I told Carol I would call thousand trails and see if I could find another location which by the grace of God Thousand trails Apologize for are difficult situation and helped us find a new RV Resort (Mesa Spirit) A+ RV resort. Called Carol and told her we were leaving and as I was thanking her for ruining our Thanksgiving she just hung up on me. RVer's be aware! read more
