I was very impressed from my first interaction with Joe Leonardo. His team is made up of professionals with a tremendous amount of experience in law enforcement and professional firearm training. Their discipline and thoroughness permeates everything that they do, from preparing students for the class, through the running of the class, both in the classroom and on the range. The course not only instructs students in the proper use of their firearm, but includes critically important lessons regarding scenarios, proper responses, and how to think about and prepare for various scenarios. The course expanded my knowledge and capabilities significantly, but also reminded me that training is a journey vs. a destination. The most important takeaways for me were the reminder of the importance of ongoing training, proper practice, and developing and reinforcing good behaviors. Joe, Nick, and team are great instructors, and I look forward to taking more courses with them. If others want to develop their skills from solid professionals with discipline, patience, and a passion for doing things correctly, LEO Defensive Concepts is a great option.

Our instructor was patient enough for us to learn a great deal but also paced enough to keep us on-task. He payed close individual attention to our technique, pointing out habits we each had and correcting us so we could shoot better. He also separately adjusted the drills to give seasoned shooters a challenge but also make things accessible for those with less experience. The way he conducted the class reflected his own experience and professionalism. They do other training, such as baton, pepper spray, shotguns, tactical defense, and a lot more. My friends and I are already considering further instruction and testing. We'll certainly be back for periodic firearms requalification.
