At my first lesson, I didn't know a single thing about driving, but my instructor Kristi was very patient and very good at teaching me what to do. I was taught how to turn the steering wheel, use turn signals, using the brakes and accelerator, changing lanes, merging lanes, deal with traffic circles, speed limit, and so much more! I went from driving with no accelerator around my neighborhood to driving with the accelerator in the main roads! Great progress :) Second lesson was with Shelby, who was very good as well! She showed me DMV routes, taught me how to reverse in a straight line, lane changes when there was a bike lane present, and had me practicing what I needed to practice most. I am now very good at turning, performing the task of a U-Turn, changing lanes, and looking out for bikers in bike lanes. My last instructor was Christian, who was excellent! Very verbal in a very good way. He repeated things that were important so I could remember him saying those things. He taught me how to look ahead at all times, he taught me how to park in the mall parking lot, and he really worked on straight parking! Thanks to him, I can park at many places and I'm able to park along the curb without ever hitting it! Overall, every instructor I had were excellent! What started out as an exciting day ahead ended up being quite the disaster. The driving teacher Jezel was not only late by 20 minutes she was extremely rude and disrespectful. She very rudely over the phone accused me of giving her the wrong address, which I did not. When she finally got to the correct address she verbally attacked my sister for giving her the wrong address, thinking she was talking to me. She pointed her finger in my sister's face as she was aggressively speaking to her. My husband then asked for a discount considering we paid for 1 full hour of training plus the actual DMV driving test (to use the car) As he was not going to get the full hour he was only getting 30 minutes drive time before the DMV driving test appointment. Jezel was very rude and then started blaming him for the address navigation "issue". She told my husband "i don't have to be here i can go home, do you want to go or not"!? I ended up on the phone with jezels boss and she was more concerned with me paying full price for something we were not going to receive than she was from this very unprofessional situation. I talked my husband into going with her, in hopes that he would pass the test, when they got into the car, the first thing she asked him was where he was from (he has a thick accent, her follow up question was "are you Muslim" then asked him why he was wearing a cross necklace (i am not sure how this is relevant to the driving test.) In the beginning my son was skeptical because they are based out of Tracy, Ca however after his 1st class my son was very happy. We signed up for a 3-days of 2-hour lessons for our daughter each day. The instructor, Jazel, was late for the first lesson by a little over 10 minutes but we gave the benefit of the doubt of possibly not finding the address in time or something of the like. She was again late on the second day and my wife talked to her on the phone when she called our daughter to let her know that she was here. My wife mentioned she was late for a second time, and it was not okay, and the instructor proceeded to lie about making up the time the first day. Our daughter was picked up 10 minutes late (9:10am) and we saw and even have video of her walking back in the door (11:01). This means they arrived before 11 as they were in car signing her permit. The instructor said that she had been dropped off at 11:11 (her exact words as far as the time), to which my wife replied that it was not true. Afterwards the instructor made comments to our daughter about my wife mentioning her being late twice and how she didn't make up the time. She said my wife was worrying about 4 mins which as I've pointed out was more than that. But, regardless of how late she was, we paid for 2 FULL hours per session and we don't feel its appropriate for her to be making comments/complaints to our daughter about us or our conversation. As far as the lessons themselves we have a couple of issues: 1. She didn't take her on the freeway and excused this by saying that a road was "like the freeway" even though it was a single lane two-way highway with no merging or lane changing practice. 2. Was talking about all her personal life during the instruction (friendliness is okay, but the focus should be on the instruction). Signing up for the course and scheduling the courses was easy and the price was good, but I would not recommend the instructor. The school seemed okay otherwise except for not returning my call regarding the instructor being late. read more

Amazing experience! I had one lesson with another driving school prior to switching, and I had a horrible experience. So I was nervous going to another school, but I had nothing to worry about. I had Heriberto, and he was such an amazing teacher. He showed me all of the basics and was extremely patient with me. He is also extremely thorough with instructions, so there really was no confusion. If you're someone with road anxiety or prefer a gentle but effective style of teaching, I couldn't recommend him more! Overall, I felt extremely prepared for my test, and I passed! I have hired 7 different Driving instructors for the past two years within Alameda. According to me personally, non of those can teach. some of them even cheat the hours (comes 20 min late and ends 20 min early) However, when I hired Ray (Pass Guarantee), met him and talked to him, he gave me the impression that he cares. My daughter had her appt for her driving test and my check engine light came on in my car so we could not use my car. I called pass guarantee driving school, they provided a car and two lessons one right before she took her test. She had the same instructor both days. I honestly would give this 10 stars if I could. I was in a horrible situation the day of my driving test I was originally supposed to be picked up so I can borrow the car for my test by a different driving service (yoGov) but the instructor cancelled on me the day of my test and it was super unprofessional and inconvenient especially when they know how long it takes to even get an appointment at the dmv. They wanted to rebook me and I wasn't down to do that. I WAS DETERMINED TO GET MY LICENSE THAT DAY or else I would be waiting another 3 months. So I just got my refund from them and that was that. Well lets just say I didn't give up and that wasn't going to stop me from taking my test that day. I began frantically looking for another service that would allow me to do the same. I felt kinda hopeless because I know these driving schools usually book out pretty quickly as well but I called pass guarantee driving school and left them a message telling them what had happened, and the guy got back to me in a timely manner. I got so lucky I only had about 4 more hours before my appt time. I was taking my test in Manteca. He was nice enough to squeeze me in. He allowed me to drive to Manteca just to get some practice in before the test and so I can get used to the car. It was actually a nice and smooth car to take a test in. I was super thankful that he squeezed me in because I passed my test that day easily. I was super happy. He kept a positive vibe and kept telling me that I was a good driver and that I was going to pass. He gave me some basic tips for the test on the way there. I took five lessons and in that time I never went on the freeway, learned the gears, practiced parking, learned hand signals, or learned the buttons, among other things. I was switched between two instructors without any warning, the second of which, Shelby, started me back at square one. She also made me really uncomfortable and the driving experience tense. I left every lesson feeling less confident in my driving and in the end I had to turn to another driving school to help me get my licence. In total I spent over $400 and I didn't learn a damn thing. This business was very unprofessional in how they dealt with me, and frankly I think they ripped me off. I recommend people stay away from Pass Guarantee and try your luck elsewhere. 1 star. I should add that after I left my original review on Google, Ray contacted me and he tried to pressure me into taking the review down. I refused. So I'm leaving a review on Yelp so people know that this is a shady business. read more
