They have two excellent CFSC instructors that run this course Mike and Stavros. Excellent information and engaging with a strong focus on safety (a friend who had taken the course elsewhere said it was super dry). Course content is well organized with many real-life examples on the consequences of improper handling, misuse and re-emphasis on the need to maintain safe practices. Registration by e-mail was easy and well-organized in advance also. Lots of time to ask questions of the instructors and well-paced. It gave me more confidence with firearms which I appreciated. The VGC also has an awesome restaurant on-site open on Saturday/Sundays. Cash only but portions are incredibly generous. Tip the experts in the kitchen well as they work hard to put together a delicious meal. I had the Pad Thai and it was absolutely delicious. I couldn't stop eating it. My wonton soup turned out to be a wonton noodle soup which was huge in size and portions. It was all yummy! The building is older but decently maintained theres's also lots of gravel parking available. Washrooms were clean. I'll be back to visit VGC in the future hopefully!

Nothing quite like going to the gun range & letting off some steam!…read more Well actually I can think of another activity ... however, childrenz are watching this thread. The Langley Gun Range is were I was one morning letting loose with various firearms. You must sign in electronically on the available pads - does not take long unless you love to read 25,000 words of info. We were booked for one hour - call ahead to reserve a slot. We started off with a 22, then upped to a 25 & concluded with a shotgun, blasting away slugs at the target. I really enjoyed pulling the trigger on the shotgun I used & hearing the loud bang & feeling the pushback in my shoulder. Definitely not recommended for those with shoulder injuries. It can be a little tricky trying to get here, so make sure to use Google Maps or Waze. Parking available out back including an overflow area. Dress, warm but flexible as it is cold in here this winter. This gun range is an icon in Metro Vancouver = well used & well loved. Great service at reception, easy to access, & just straight up no nonsense. We brought our own gear - guns, clear glasses (eye protection), earbuds aka ear muffs & ammo. Take the slings off your guns if you have them on - not permitted inside the range. Check the website for cost of gun rental & ammo purchase. https://www.therangelangley.com/ Safety is very important here, so obey the rules or get kicked out immediately!

Fun shooting range near Golden Ears bridge (Langley side)…read more Parking is plentiful in the industrial lot on the weekends. Might get a bit full on weekdays. The venue is quite modern. Nice big front counter. Friendly and helpful staff. As of the time of writing, members can bring 1 guest for half price admission, which is a nice perk. There is also a mini training room downstairs, and a large private (party?) room upstairs. The range itself is pretty nice. Maybe 25m long, and maybe 20 lanes total. Nice cool breezy air running through the room. Lane width is pretty much the right size. My only complaint is that the "corridor" running the width of the shooting area is a wee bit narrow. Even when I was standing against the back wall, traffic kept bumping into me. A bunch of ammo was spent, and my friends and I left with huge grins on our faces.

The course ran from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and the cost was $160 which was good seeing that previous students enjoyed the class and what they had learned. To register you just call ahead and see what class is open and if they are still taking in students so you can pay a head with a credit card or pay when you get there as they have a debit machine and credit cards too. I was blown away by the classroom setting as it felt like being in a sportsmans cabin with lots of trophies and firearms on the walls and lots of other neat items. The learning environment is awesome with Kent and Staurt giving their students confidence in the safe handling of firearms. In the classroom it is a very casual learning setting with encouragement to walk around and get up off their chairs and desks as opposed to sitting the entire day. There are cookies, coffee, tea, hot, chocolate, and cold drinks for everyone through out the day. For lunch everyone chips in $5 and they order pizza for the group for lunch time. The course is very informative and the instructors encourage asking questions and there is a lot of hands on with the firearms like the ones we used such as the pump shotgun, break action shotgun, bolt and lever action rule. Learning muzzle control, loading ammunition, storage, safety, and everything else I'm between. I enjoyed the humour and experience of our instructors as they made the class fun and allowing everyone to have extra time handling the firearms in needed. At the testing portion in the day everyone passed the written and hands on testing because everyone was confident at the end of the day. I enjoyed my day here learning and am signing up for more in the future.

Wasn't busy at all, 12 ranges, lots of room in the bay, and people cleaned up after themselves (no bullet shells). Unlike what Google Maps says, the entrance is a tiny road located at the far back end of the Golden Eagle Golf Club. One needs to drive into the club itself and go all the way to the far end and look for the sign. The road then twists up the mountain. It is EXTREMELY steep. I would be scared to drive up this road if conditions aren't completely dry. Once up there, one has to call the owner of the club to meet at the office. After paying the fees and signing the required documentation, one now has free access to the various ranges. This facility has several different ranges, from pistol to long range rifle. Basically something for everyone, as long as one likes guns and shooting stuff. What's really nice is that every range has its own parking lot, which is nice as carrying cases of guns and ammo can get a bit heavy after a while. I didn't try every range, but the ones I did try are covered and have plenty of booths to set up one's firearms. Targets range from boards to metal pans on chains (very satisfying as they go "plink" when hit). There might be other stuff to shoot at as well. Pricing isn't the cheapest overall ($30 fee for non-members + bring own ammo and guns), but everyone knows that playing with guns is an expensive hobby. Because of the flat rate, it's the best deal if one spends the entire day there wasting as much ammo as possible. Sort of like a bulk discount. Overall it's a very nice facility, and definitely a solid option if one doesn't mind the long drive out from the city.

After you register, sign a waiver, you are prepped with a beginners bow, arrows and equipment. Safety lessons and procedures are well defined and kindly instructed. After getting into the rhythm of it, I was able to shoot a few arrows in the yellow and red target rings and even a balloon! I was beside some experienced archers and was impressed by the speed of their arrows and the small size of their targets they hit. I can see myself returning to better my aim and pop all balloons next time!

The place has lessons/intro to archery which we booked for. The firs 15 minutes, they teach you the technique, the rules of the place, etc. They don't have the arm guard or at least they didn't provide us with them. I think they used to as I remember having/using them before. After they show/demonstrate the technique, they do help you for the first 15-20 minutes to make sure you're holding the bow right and angle properly. After that, they let you shoot. Near the end of your time slot, they put up balloons for you to shoot at. It was a good experience. Since we have now done the intro, you can now book the regular time slots. I recommend this place if you and your friends want to try archery.
