Having never held, let alone shot, a gun before, I was both excited and nervous about my visit to the Langley Range. The facility was smaller than I imagined it to be, but had ample parking. Even though the place was packed, my group signed the liability waiver forms, chose the guns, ammo and targets within 15 minutes. My group then sat through a video where safety rules was shown and an instructor reiterated the rules so I felt somewhat safe entering the range. Yes, the range was coooold, but ventilation was needed or else the area would have smelt like gun powder. However, there are communal jackets you can wear and you can turn on the heaters that are located at every lane.
The best thing about about the range is that the instructor was so patient and dedicated to our group. Not only did he educate my group on how to hold the different guns and how to load and unload the ammos, he also showed us how to stand, aim, gave us feedback and congratulated us when we got the targets. He really made the experience that much more fun.
The range was full and I would understand why some people (like a previous reviewer) would have to compromise and have 4 people to a lane. There was no fraud, misrepresentation nor scam going on (as alleged by a previous reviewer). Let's put it this way, if 4 of you dropped into a gym and 1 of you never used any of the gym machines, do you go back to ask for a refund? Same logic here. Also, if there was a scam, it is not a criminal matter, but a civil matter and I would suggest the previous reviewer to file a Civil Resolution Tribunal case to get the drop-on fee back.
I may not have been the best shooter, actually I was the worst shooter of my group, but I had so much fun being a spectator, camera person, cheerleader and gun shooter all thanks to such a wonderful range instructor and experience at the Langley Range.
I highly recommend this place! read more
