    Waiting area for the range

All 5 stars for the service, safety, explaining, good rental price , cost effectiveness n fun time. I usually go to the other gun range in Coquitlam but thought of trying a different location and now its has become my favourite for above mentioned reasons. Its little hard to find this place on ur own especially if you are not local but the GPS will guide you here. Parking is not a problem as they have their exclusive parking. Step in and be amazed by the collection of guns they have for you to fire from. All other hunting and firing related decor also takes you to an army camp. Or atleast an army mans living room. There is one big room upstairs next to washroom where they take fire license classes or maybe available for rent too. The building is pretty old but intact. Before you head to range to shoot , there is a selection process. U fill ur basic details form and show ur govt ID to them n wait for your turn to pick ur guns (cool. right??). No, the coolest part is shooting. Once u have picked up ur guns , they will put them at your assigned range for you. All you have to do is wear your safety glasses and noise resistant head phones and go to ur spot on the range( by the way , they regularly sanitize them) The range is quite cold . 8 gun fire lanes. There is gun range safety officer if you need him else just hang ur target , aim and shoot. Now here is my favourite part. Cost effectiveness Adult drop-in is $35 ; handgun rental $5 ; rifle rental $7 . Its the ammunition that breaks ur back but here it wasn't bad. In total i got 10 rounds for around $150. I have paid more so this was good price for me . There is membership offer too so take a look at that if it workout for you. You can bring ur own guns and ammunition too. Just the drop in charges would be applied. I will be going back for more.

very safe and professional place to practice and de-stress! staff very knowledgeable and helpful. clean surroundings, lots of selections for firearms! very well regulated and place easy to navigate. bright lit and well ventilated! indoor and cooled well. reception area feels like a hunting lodge...lol. law enforcement and public friendly. easy and step by step registration! only thing is, they dont allow you to bring your own ammo and use rent their guns. gun rental is cheap...its the ammo and entrance fee that will get you depending on how much ammo you want to fire. overall tho, i highly recommend this place.

We were looking for something unique to do and we all thought let's try a shooting range! So much fun! Great staff, all very informative, friendly and had us feeling very safe. They have a great gun selection to choose from and the staff was so awesome about letting us know differences of each. I'm giving it 4 stars due to pricing. This was an expensive evening for my family of 3 and compared to other ranges in the lower mainland its a bit more expensive than the others. It would be great if they had a lower priced intro package so it didn't hurt the pocket book so much. However, we loved it and would come back...

If there was no venting then the ammo of rounds being fired off would make the room unbreathable.

Wasn't busy at all, 12 ranges, lots of room in the bay, and people cleaned up after themselves (no bullet shells). I had to use the washroom, I was hesitant at first, but it was clean and no smell for a portable potty! The host at the front made me feel welcomed, I'm glad I went and tried something new.

Tucked away high up and away from prying eyes is this gem of a shooting club…read more Parking is plentiful and free. Getting here is a bit tricky. Unlike what Google Maps says, the entrance is a tiny road located at the far back end of the Golden Eagle Golf Club. One needs to drive into the club itself and go all the way to the far end and look for the sign. The road then twists up the mountain. It is EXTREMELY steep. I would be scared to drive up this road if conditions aren't completely dry. Once up there, one has to call the owner of the club to meet at the office. After paying the fees and signing the required documentation, one now has free access to the various ranges. This facility has several different ranges, from pistol to long range rifle. Basically something for everyone, as long as one likes guns and shooting stuff. What's really nice is that every range has its own parking lot, which is nice as carrying cases of guns and ammo can get a bit heavy after a while. I didn't try every range, but the ones I did try are covered and have plenty of booths to set up one's firearms. Targets range from boards to metal pans on chains (very satisfying as they go "plink" when hit). There might be other stuff to shoot at as well. Pricing isn't the cheapest overall ($30 fee for non-members + bring own ammo and guns), but everyone knows that playing with guns is an expensive hobby. Because of the flat rate, it's the best deal if one spends the entire day there wasting as much ammo as possible. Sort of like a bulk discount. Overall it's a very nice facility, and definitely a solid option if one doesn't mind the long drive out from the city.

The course ran from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and the cost was $160 which was good seeing that previous students enjoyed the class and what they had learned. To register you just call ahead and see what class is open and if they are still taking in students so you can pay a head with a credit card or pay when you get there as they have a debit machine and credit cards too. I was blown away by the classroom setting as it felt like being in a sportsmans cabin with lots of trophies and firearms on the walls and lots of other neat items. The learning environment is awesome with Kent and Staurt giving their students confidence in the safe handling of firearms. In the classroom it is a very casual learning setting with encouragement to walk around and get up off their chairs and desks as opposed to sitting the entire day. There are cookies, coffee, tea, hot, chocolate, and cold drinks for everyone through out the day. For lunch everyone chips in $5 and they order pizza for the group for lunch time. The course is very informative and the instructors encourage asking questions and there is a lot of hands on with the firearms like the ones we used such as the pump shotgun, break action shotgun, bolt and lever action rule. Learning muzzle control, loading ammunition, storage, safety, and everything else I'm between. I enjoyed the humour and experience of our instructors as they made the class fun and allowing everyone to have extra time handling the firearms in needed. At the testing portion in the day everyone passed the written and hands on testing because everyone was confident at the end of the day. I enjoyed my day here learning and am signing up for more in the future.

They have two excellent CFSC instructors that run this course Mike and Stavros. Excellent information and engaging with a strong focus on safety (a friend who had taken the course elsewhere said it was super dry). Course content is well organized with many real-life examples on the consequences of improper handling, misuse and re-emphasis on the need to maintain safe practices. Registration by e-mail was easy and well-organized in advance also. Lots of time to ask questions of the instructors and well-paced. It gave me more confidence with firearms which I appreciated. The VGC also has an awesome restaurant on-site open on Saturday/Sundays. Cash only but portions are incredibly generous. Tip the experts in the kitchen well as they work hard to put together a delicious meal. I had the Pad Thai and it was absolutely delicious. I couldn't stop eating it. The building is older but decently maintained theres's also lots of gravel parking available. Washrooms were clean. I'll be back to visit VGC in the future hopefully!

I had wanted to take a firearms safety course for awhile…read more I wanted clarity on how to operate a gun & most of all how to be safe around them - guns. The time to learn about gun safety in my life was now. I'm older & wiser (I think) but most of all calmer about life. When I was a teen growing up in Africa, I had two uncles who were in the army & went on to become police officers. One of those uncles stayed with me (I had a large master bedroom with extra beds) & would often bring a cache of guns he would place under his bed. Knowing now what I know - I consider myself lucky I didn't accidentally fire off any of those guns I picked up - when he wasn't around! You name it I held it - semi automatics, RPGs, AK47s, etcetera ... honestly there was a Rambo assortment of weapons under that bed ... yikes! A coworker had taken Silvercores firearms safety course & highly recommended I sign up. I did sign up a few months ago & just recently completed the two day in person course. Heads up Alert - I'm going to share with you major, major tips so you can successfully pass this course to obtain your PAL (Possession & Acquisition Licence) which enables you to own & buy guns. You must score a minimum of 80% to pass the course. You must complete each of the prep quizzes in the links I've shared - if there's 10 quizzes, complete ALL 10 quizzes! Study out the following guns - single & double action revolvers, Glock 45, bolt action rifle, hitch rifle, Lever Action Rifle, Pump Action & Semi Automatic Action(Ruger). You will have two in class quizzes, each consisting of 50 multiple choice questions. You will also have two practical in class tests. You will not be firing off any guns in this class. You can download the manual - 300 pages. Glance through it but don't memorize it. Mythbusters By taking the CFSC, you will not become The Accountant - an assassin - nor the Jackel (The Day of the Jackel 2024 - btw excellent British production) - super sniper - & be able to bring down targets 5 miles away. 007? - forget about it & leave that to James Bond on the big screen. Firearms are sold only to licenced PAL holders in Canada. Firearms in Canada are used solely for hunting or target practice at the gun range. Canada does not have the infamous 'Castle' rule ala Texas. Makes for an interesting scenario - if Dahmer breaks into your home & starts ticking off your loved ones, one by one, do you approach him with a butter knife!? Most of the 'big, black, scary' guns (semi automatics) are banned in Canada. Come to class relaxed & ready to learn everything - gun safety. When answering the quizzes, think gun safety first. Funny story - my brother got tripped up on a question - are you allowed to fire bullets at a stop sign? His mind was like - yeah, if it's in my backyard! LOL. The answer is - nope. No picture taking or recording allowed in class. There is a Subway a 100 metres from here (Delta location) for lunch or bring your own. Silvercore has leading industry training by highly experienced firearms instructors. Our class instructor Ken, was A+ in his instruction, pace & style of teaching.
