It's my neighborhood hardware store. It has excellent depth of inventory short of the better prices for bulk items such as lumber and concrete found at Homedepot. read more

Nice selection of plants. The price was a little steep for a Petunia - I want to say $16 out the door. Not your big box store price but it was in a larger pot (4" I think), and I've never seen a Headliner Dark Saturn Petunia before. Its beautiful! Its not a large store but they seems to be well stocked. read more

I'm local. Finally had a day off to take my wife in to look at the garden nursery. Long drive up from Napa. I'll usually stop at the Roastry first, they closed at 12. was browsing the nursery but had to use the bathroom. Usually staff is friendly, today, not so much. Walked inside from the garden area. Was 4 employees , 1 behind register. Looked for help with bathroom. Staff with ace vests, acted busy amongst themselves not eager to help. I was closest to three employees gathered around a cart in center aisle. one girl one guy with a mustache. Again the bathroom was urgent. I Simply asked where the bathroom was. The male employee with mustache retorted in the most rude tone possible DONT HAVE ONE! As he walked past me. SUPER RUDE. Turned around and walked out. in fact most of the staff acted like they didnt want to be bothered. I'm never coming here again. Ace calistoga circa 1:30 pm 11/7/24 read more

Silverado Ace Hardware - 10/27/24 - Hardware Stores Near Me - Calistoga, California

Was walking through town, going into all the interesting shops and noticed they have an ACE Hardware Store. I don't normally go into hardware stores but I always get a good feeling when I walk into an ACE. This one was super cute. Nice selection of plants outside, veggie, flowers, herbs and succulents. So many other things too. They had their 4th of July decorations out which didn't surprise me, Calistoga is a very patriotic town. I was surprised to see frozen pies! Apparently many Ace stores sell these pies and they are apparently very good. read more

Needed a part for my bicycle hitch mount and was kindly greeted by the store manager and he contacted Lisa to help me. The service from her was amazing, she even helped me carry the hitch mount around the store to get the parts I needed to mount it on the car properly. This store service was unmatched, I will definitely be coming here whenever I drive up from Napa. The garden looked really nice too. Will definitely bring my wife down and pick some flowers next time as well. read more

A few years ago I had left not so good review for this location. I must say things have improved immensely. I just wanted to say everything went well and I am impressed with the changes that have been made. It'll never be quite the same as it was when the Petersons had it but as of right now, I have no complaints. read more

A store full of goodies for all! I love to travel and visit each Ace hardware in the area! This one is at the top of my kist in Calistoga My purchase was some garden treasures and wine toppers for friends back home Staff was friendly and full of smiles! read more

Silverado Ace Hardware - Hardware Stores Near Me - Calistoga, California

Vega and Rochelle always helpful. With such a selection of items, I get lost in wants instead of needs. Calistoga is lucky to have such resources. read more

Helpful friendly staff. They have almost everything you need! From lumber to dish drainers! A great selection of plants and tools. Highly recommend it read more

Very rude employees will yell at you if you wait for anyone in the parking lot even if you explain that you'll begin shopping in a minute. Apparently they expect you to fling yourself from a moving vehicle into the store immediately. Took my business elsewhere. read more

I will never shop here and spend a dime, ever ever. The older man with long hair is disgustingly rude, and should be completely be ashamed of himself. There's a lot of places we can spend our money this his will not be one of them. read more

IMHO - Covid Edition Wandered into this Ace Hardware to kill some time as we waited for a specific Calistoga restaurant to open. The store was undergoing a merchandise display re-work so it was busy with staff running around and making a lot of noise. LOL Yet we were still warmly greeted and asked if they could be of assistance to us. We made a key copy and bought a pool skimmer! Customer service was friendly and available. I even asked about restaurant recommendations, which were happily offered! The nicest Ace Hardware I've ever visited! Thank you! read more

This store has all the usual stuff a hardware store should have, but they also have knowledgable staff and great hours! I can go after work and they don't give me stink eye, even when I come in at 5:50! read more

The young short lady wearing red on April 26 day shift overcharged me for 1 item. Seems like she didn't care to even pay attention to what she was doing or was careless because it was me. It was a simple two item checkout and she just scanned one item and ran it twice. Racist? Not the first time it's happened. Its always young white women who keep up the lack of service as ive noticed, at other places I've experienced the same thing. read more

Great service! Larry went the extra mile and helped me replace my car key battery that I didn't know how, it was the first time I had to do it, and I was concerned the battery could die at any moment and I couldn't open my car. And Larry was so kind, and replaced the battery I bought, and I'm so grateful because I didn't have the right tools in the hotel to open the battery package. TL;DR: as I parked after arriving in my hotel in Calistoga, after a trip from San Francisco, in a gorgeous hot Sunday afternoon in September, my car dashboard showed a message: "Key battery is low." I called my dealership, researched and went to a car repair close to my hotel to see if they could help me, and they couldn't, but they referred me to the Silverado ACE Hardware on Lincoln Ave, and Larry helped me replace the battery. Great service! Thank you! read more

One of the most scenic hardware stores in the US. Inside, it's clean, full of useful supplies from organic ant spray to bungee cords, stuff you'll need around the house. It is a genuine old school hardware store, with screwdrivers, wrenches, the literal nuts and bolts. Its best section is outdoors- plenty of seasonal and perennial plants for the garden. One can enjoy a breath of fresh air along with spectacular views of the Palisades and Mt. St. Helena. The prices are cheap (for Calistoga), the people are helpful, the views are breathtaking. Not only will you be able to do home repairs, but you can also repair your state of mind. read more

One of the worst Ace's I've been into, not only are the employees rude but they are concerned about matters that are completely irrelevant to you shopping at their facility. The one in Santa rosa is much better and much more hospitable.Don't go to this Ace unless you want to crapped on by the staff. read more

You've got to be shitting me! No one's reviewed this place yet?! I tell you what, outside of Pagano's, this is my favoritist hardware store in these here contiguous United States. (There's a place in Lahaina that's pretty cool.) I still have a pair of salt and pepper shakers I got from here years ago. You know the kind; little glass barrels with little glass handles and little tin lids. They are so fucking cute. If you don't have any, you should get some. All the more reason to visit this place. Or Pagano's. While I don't believe this joint has quite the selection of Pagano's, it definitely does carry some items that Pagano's doesn't, due to its presumably more rural clientele. For example, Pagano's doesn't carry harrows, horse blinders, drawbars, yokes, or grain cradles. Neither does this place (I don't think), but you get my drift. I just can't think of any specific examples right now. So go to Calistoga. Visit some wineries. Play some golf. Get a mud bath/sauna/rubdown/etc. Do some shopping. Have a romantic meal. Get your freakity freak on. But save the very best for last: a trip to, whatchamacall, Silverado Ace Hardware. No visit to Calistoga would be complete without it. And that's the truth, Ruth. read more

Silverado Ace Hardware - Hardware Stores Near Me - Calistoga, California

We are very weird, it is true! We both love to look at real hardware stores with bins and rounders of nuts and bolts...what can I say? Nostalgic, I guess....one item you don't usually see that this one had was a real metal-and-wood washboard, not too widely used in our area :-) Maybe for all the jug bands up here... read more

So I was admiring the herb garden while the bf was looking for something like pipes or gloves or, i don't know, a screwdriver (non-alcoholic). Suddenly, I hear someone approaching me from behind, and I turn just in time to see the top of boyfriend's head duck under an azalea. Cat and mouse, eh? Oh THE HUNT IS ON! So i start ducking and weaving through the sparse cover of potted plants, getting ready to sneak up on him. I can see the top of his hair through the basil on the other side of the isle. I sneak closer, then LEAP! In mid-air, I realize that my prey is, in fact, a middle-aged woman who has bent over to check out the peonies on the bottom shelf. And she wasn't playing cat and mouse with me. At least that's what she claimed. But we all knew who won. read more

Super nice helpful people. We bought a gas grill today - the price was as good or better than online prices, but the grill was already assembled and they loaded it into our car. Highly recommend - support local businesses and get instant gratification rather than another box to recycle. read more

This place is very unimpressive. It's easier to drive down 29 and go to the Ace in St Helena or the Central Valley Builder supply because the two younger kids who work in here I feel like need to be beaten over the head to get any answers or service out of. I have never seen two kids look more vacant in my life. Just a.... Blank.... Stare.... So weird! Anyway, the garden center leaves much to be desired, they do have a decent amount of household products but at ridiculous prices. The reason for the two stars instead of just one is because the store is clean and tidy and there is a parking lot. Other than that, I only come here when I absolutely have to even though they never seem to have what I need anyway. read more

This was a great stop during our breif visit to Calistoga. As is the case with most Ace Hardware stores, this shop had all the random things we were looking for! The employee's were friendly and went out of their way to help us. (They even had a biscuit ready for our four-legged shopping companion!). Thanks Ace!!!! read more

Locals love it and its fun. These folks are helpful and don't have the stuck-up air you often find in the valley. Very nice people. Check out the cool oil cloth fabric you can buy by the yard. Very extensive assortment of household needs. read more

The folks are special, some are older types who have been around for a long time there, and have gone the extra mile for me. If they don't have what you require, they are frequently able to order for you. They also refer helpers for difficult tasks such as installing straps for a water heater. There are unique 'treasures' to be found here, also; I have a set of wind chimes purchased here that have such a lovely DEEP tone that I purchased them for indoors, and have them in my living room to enjoy their sound. The garden section even carrys artichokes, and is willing to work with you to order also. read more

Love this store! An authentic local gem. We just moved to Calistoga and visited the store 2x each day our first week here. Good variety for everything for the house and garden...
