I'll start by saying I really wanted to like this wine. The winery is owned by a retired couple that followed a dream to own a winery. The wife is the wine master, and the husband pours the samples. The entire experience was very disappointing. My friends and I visited a couple of wine-tasting shops in Tombstone with limited expectations, although this exceeded my worst fears. All of the wines were cloudy and apparently unfiltered with a LOT of sediment. The whites had a distinct smell of various cleaning solvents, and most of the reds looked more like a smoothy than wine. The taste was as disappointing as the appearance. It was all we could do to finish the samples with a smile and politely extricate ourselves from the premises. read more

I love supporting local business and really wanted to like this place. However, this is some of the worst liquid I that has ever entered my mouth. I don't know how they messed this wine up so badly. I have visited a lot of wineries and made my own wine at home as well and let's just say this one is way at the bottom of the barrel. The neighboring winery Cabal Cellars isn't amazing wine but it's at least drinkable. Silver Strike wines are atrocious. Each new pour is waking into a more complex nightmare and the owners seem unaware of how bad their wines are. Maybe it's like a hidden camera thing where the people play it straight and see how polite other people can be when given questionable offerings. I don't know. All I know if that if you have a bottle of wine that is leaving purple streaks of sediment that stain the inside of the bottle, you're seriously doing something wrong. Oof. This wine was awful. The Maverick tasted like nail polish remover. The rest were barely tolerable. 2 Buck Chuck is a better wine. My friend dumped every one but I manage to get 2 down. Do not recommend. read more

Kyle was very friendly. Wines weren't all that great but we enjoyed the visit and atmosphere was nice.

The wine was really bad! The customer service was great, but the wine.... My sister bailed on me and couldn't go on, I felt weird just walking out and finished. We got a good laugh later at the hotel talking about the whole experience, we both felt like we were being punked and my sister was looking for the camera's while wine tasting. I felt like I was in jail drinking hooch or like it was made in someone's bathtub. The glass that came with the tasting was cool though. read more

A nice and unique little winery located in the town of Tombstone. The owner/operator is a prior chef and has amazing passion for wine and wine-making. Ask him stories about how he came to be in Tucson doing winery as well as his past chef-life and you'll have a wonderful story to go along with your wine-tasting. I can't say that the wine flavors were my cup of tea but there are a few that are pretty good. For $10 you get to taste 5 different wines and you get to take home a small wine glass. We came in here by chance. Just saw the sign and walked on in. The place has amazing owners and they tasting is very reasonable. The wines are super delicious and the customer service is great. I only wish they had more white wine selections and more sparkling wines. They are local so they really can only market what they make but that's all that would have made it 5 Stars for me. Very high cost for less than mediocre wine. Regretted the purchase. Not worth it just to have got it from a local winery. They are about their own taste and process and if you can't do things their way, they have no interest in getting your business. Surprised they can survive doing business this way. read more

The guy that runs the place was super friendly and my girlfriend loved the wines here, even though I didn't have any that time. We'll be back sometime in the future since it's only a few hours a way from the Phoenix area and just outside of Tucson. Check this place out and enjoy the wine. read more

Wow! Who would have thought that a winery in Tombstone AZ would serve very refined wines. Being a bit of a wine snob we are always a bit apprehensive of wineries that are in out of the way places. That doesn't stop us from trying them out though and every once in a while we find a winner. Wines were ok, nothing to write home about. I can't believe the price they want to charge like $40 a bottle. I think that's insane. $13 something for the wine tasting that comes with the two glasses you drank out of. Like seriously, couldn't you give us clean glasses to take home and wash the dirty ones you serve customers? Also the wine tasting itself, I don't think it's possible to serve any less than they did. I have down tons of tastings in the US and abroad and have never been served less. Seriously for the price you charge you can afford to be more generous. Not impressed read more

Carol on the corner directed us here and recommended the stout, which they were out of. Jan helped my roommate and I, and was absolutely wonderful. Very personable, friendly, and easy going. The tasting was average priced, while the bottle are expensive. We both purchased a bottle of the Cab, and enjoyed our time and tasting. One of our bottles rolled out of the car, and when we went back to purchase a new bottle (because it was that good) Jan took care of us. They don't export their wines, but it was worth the three hour drive for that one glass. Would recommend to stop in and see Jan if you're visiting Ok Corral or in the vicinity. Unfortunately, I popped in to this shop to check out a red wine for a gift for a friend in Fountain Hills. I asked about whether there were any wines in the $20 range. The storekeeper told me to go to Walmart about 20 miles away. He obviously doesn't know much about sales so don't go in the shop if you aren't dressed in Jones of New York and carrying a Michael Kors purse. The wine probably is good but the experience prevented me from finding out the fine qualities of their product. read more

Silver strike Winery and Tasting Room, in the heart of historic Tombstone is just steps from the famous OK Corral and maintains an old-west feel and comfortable ambiance, and the wine is (really!) outstanding. Having spent the past 2 weeks in tasting rooms from Napa to Santa Barbara to Temecula to the Sonoita AVA, I was not expecting the high quality and character of wine that I found here in Tombstone. The varietals and blends here are mostly made from grapes grown in America's newest Viticulture Area - the Willcox AVA, just certified in October 2016. As in the Sonoita AVA about 50 miles to the west, the Willcox vineyards support excellent Mediterranean grape varietals. Owners and Winemakers Jann and Hank Bengel take great pride in their wine making, using biodynamically grown grapes and all natural wine-making, with NO added sulfites. The resulting wines are complex, smooth and balanced. I would love to see their Cabs or Zin-Syrah blend sent in to Robert Parker or Wine Spectator; I bet they would score over 90 points. Assistant Winemaker Brittany was manning the Tasting Room when I visited, and she was a wealth of knowledge regarding the viticulture and oenology behind the wines. She finished the tasting session by offering their 5 year old Syrah-based Port, which is fortified with an Italian brandy and worth every penny of the relatively high cost. All in all, this tasting room and these wines would stand up well in any wine-making region in California. read more

The wine we tasted is not what we bought. If you like apple cider vinegar than buy the Nellie C. We also wanted to buy the Ed's Red but was given the Big John. We didn't check the bottles until we got home because we trusted the wine connoisseur as she packed the wine behind the bar. This was an interesting experience, a winery in Tombstone, who knew? I didn't even know grapes could grow in Arizona, but I suppose the Tombstone/Bisbee area is a bit more moderate. The lady working there was really cool, not formal at all, but just liked her sarcastic personality. Seemed like someone I would be friends with, though perhaps some people might appreciate a more uppity vibe in a winery. Most of the wines we tasted we did not love. But then we hit upon their CCIP port style wine and it was fantastic. Like truly world class. It was shockingly over-priced at $100/bottle. But then it was so good we couldn't help but buy a bottle, so then maybe it wasn't over priced at all! They were also really nice and gave us some extra wine and schwag since the lady probably saw I was a little worried about the price and wanted to sweeten the deal. I live in wine country, but have never considered paying that much for a bottle while tasting. So that truly is saying something of the quality of that particular bottle! read more
