We had a wonderful experience tasting wines here. Dan greeted us as soon as we came through the door, and he even asked if we would like a tour since business was a little slow that day. We really enjoyed that! Loved the ambience, and ALL of the wines. Since we were in the area for two days, we came back the next day on the way back to the valley and bought two bottles - "Aurora" and "Big Bang." Thanks again to Dan for making our experience a memorable one!

Pretty backdrop - A clear wine glass with the Deep Sky Vineyard logo is positioned on a surface outdoors. The background features a desert landscape with sparse vegetation, distant mountains, and a bright blue sky. The glass contains a small amount of white wine, and the scene is illuminated by natural sunlight, creating shadows and reflections on the glass and surface.

The thing I love about wine tasting is talking to the winemaker about the wines! That was lacking here, unfortunately. We got a one-liner about the first wine "it's a white for red wine drinkers" and then directed to seats outside. After the next couple tastings with the same communication, we opted to stay at the bar in hopes of learning more about the wines and the winery. We got a little more info, but mostly the staff was chatting with each other. Also, unfortunately, and more importantly, we weren't a fan of the wine. It was all very almost watery tasting, very puckery. Nice location tho!

Great service and tastings! Live music on the o patio! I think this could be our new "go to"

Handcrafted earrings. So cute! - A woman with dark hair, wearing earrings and a floral-patterned top, is smiling at the camera. She is seated outdoors, with a blurred background that includes a partly cloudy sky and a structure with wooden elements. The image appears to be a selfie or taken by the woman herself, with a red chair visible beside her.

This was 1 out of 5 places we went to for a self directed wine tasting tour over the weekend. I did not do a tasting here, they had a deal for $5 rose all day. So I had a glass of that. We had a really chill time here. Next adventure to Deep Sky I will have to pay more attention to the wines and do a tasting lol. The property itself is relaxing. Pros: - nice indoor tasting area that extends out to large covered patio area with plenty of seats facing a beautiful view of the vineyard. - loved sitting in the red & grey adirondack chairs and taking in the scenery. - friendly staff behind the bar. - there was a handcrafted maker named Tony inside selling his wares. I picked up 2 pairs of super cute wood earrings made from a laser engraver/cutter. Cons: - none noted. Loved it.

a hand holding a glass of wine - A person holds a wine glass filled with red wine, with the glass displaying the logo 'Deep Sky Vineyard.' The background shows a partly cloudy sky and a landscape view through a window, indicating an indoor setting near a large window or glass door.

If you're a fan of red wines, Deep Sky is a must to stop by in Sonoita - the tasting room is spacious, the patio and views are beautiful, and there's bocce ball and corn hole if you want to play games while enjoying their wines. The staff is knowledgeable, and the tasting manager Dan is so great! We loved the wines so much that we ended up signing up for the wine club. It's free to join, and the wine club releases occur twice a year - you can choose your 6 wines that you want included. You're welcome to taste new releases before you make your decision too which is amazing. Overall, always a great experience when we come here!

I'm always looking to learn about a family-run business. The history. Of course I can read things online, but part of the experience of wine tasting for me is learning. The wines were almost consistently watery and tangy and didn't hit me like I really wanted another glass of that wine. Nice seating and a few fun games to enjoy.

I came here for a tasting on Wednesday and liked their 2016 Stellar Grenache and the 2016 Gravity GSMP blend. They do have a large table inside for group seating. And the view from the tasting room of the vineyards is beautiful. They have a classic rock artwork theme going on with paintings for sale. Their neighbor built a house on the other side of the vineyards and they rent out a room for 'a stay on the vineyard.'

This property was gorgeous! A gentleman behind the bar was exceptionally kind. We each had a glass of the Orbit Cabernet. This was the only vineyard on our tour that we had never been to and we plan on returning soon.

    Goat cheese and Fritos available.

Of all the wineries we visited in Sonoita this one was the least friendly and personable. They have a nice patio with heaters and a good view.

The stay was fine overall, but there were quite a few frustrations. The contact number they gave us barely replied to texts, and no one ever picked up when we tried calling. The WiFi in the room was basically unusable--so slow that I couldn't even take a call. The shower has an open design, which meant water flooded half the bathroom every time. The casita itself is a decent size with space for a dining area and a bedroom, but the bed is designed to be lifted up to the ceiling, which felt completely unnecessary. That said, the view was stunning--facing the sunrise, and waking up to it was definitely the highlight of the stay. They provide a half bottle of wine as a welcome gift, but it's the cheapest wine they produce. Bottles at the vineyard start at $29, and anything else on the list starts around $44. For a place where you're right at the source, that felt steep. This makes me wonder how much are these wine costs if you buy it from a third party store. Personally, not that screw top makes any difference to the quality of the wine, but paying $50+ for a screw top bottle of wine off the shelf is unreal, especially coming from Europe. The restaurant is beautiful but the menu is rather small. Lunch is tapa style and dinner has a changing menu depending on what the chef wants to cook. Pretty hard to plan your meals if you are a picky eater.

We had a genuinely good time here. This vineyard is owned by a husband and wife who grew their own grapes for 15 years (selling to other local wineries) before deciding to make their own wine. I do feel that this experience of growing grapes has lent them the knowledge of what makes a good wine. We both did the tasting and enjoyed all of the wines; we even got an extra glass and bought a bottle to take home. Flying Kite has great vibe - we felt like we were hanging out at a friend's house. The owners were incredibly friendly and the way they chatted with us felt genuine. There were a few groups of people there, smiles well around. As the name of the vineyard states, there is also kite flying here! The owners have a bunch of kites available for anyone to use. It was so much fun flying kites while drinking wine - truly a novel experience! I would also like to note here the attention to detail in how they constructed this tasting room/patio - given how windy sonoita/elgin gets during the day, the owners were conscious of which direction the wind typically blows and therefore, they built the tasting patio so that you are completely blocked from the wind. This might seem like a minor detail but when you've been out in the wind all day, it is so nice to get a break from it. I just really appreciated this as I felt it was very thoughtful. Overall, I would say that flying kite is one of my favorite vineyards in this area. I would absolutely come back here again!
