Had an excellent tasting experience here. We opted for an indoor tasting although there is a covered patio for outdoor tastings as well. Service was excellent! We were greeted right away and enjoyed learning about Arizona wines. We brought our own glasses so we got a discount on the tastings. The tastings include 5, and there were 2 whites, 2 roses, a bunch of reds, and 2 dessert wines to choose from. Wine was excellent!

This was a safe and nice set up for tasting. The wines were nice and all explained very well. You can purchase the glass with the tasting if you want. This was a fun event and I think one of the better vineyards in this area. You can taste a variety of whites, reds and desert wines. The prices are very reasonable for tasting and for purchasing the bottles.

I hadn't been to Callaghan in almost a year, but it did not disappoint. I was really happy that they're store inside was open again, since it was all closed up because of 2020. Their tastings came out on beautiful wooden boards and each was better then the last. . My favorite was definitely Love Muffin Red and I would definitely suggest stocking up on bottles while you are there before they are gone! Add Callaghan to your list of wineries you want to visit because you will fall in love!

We loved finding the Sonoita AVA wine region in Arizona. Who knew that we would find some really lovely wines in Arizona, but we did. We stopped into Callaghan Vineyards and the owners were pouring. We had such a good time chatting with them and trying each of their lovely wines. What we discovered in tasting wines in the area, they charge an average of $10 per tasting and that gives you 5 tastings and you choose the wines, along with a glass. If you take the glass to the other wineries, they will take $3 or so off your tasting. You can also take your own glass to get the discount price for the tastings. Callaghan wines all had a smooth finish and deep flavors. We found several out of the 5 we tried that we loved. Definitely will go back when in the area.

Tastings served in jello shot containers. I don't think i need to say more to any wine lover. Edited for owner response. We were with a tour and I don't believe we were given a choice. Either way, my review was factual.

This was our third stop of the wineries located in the Elgin, AZ area. Nice little winery, good selection of wines to choose from. More seating is needed inside. Loved the dog, Kiva....cute greeting from her.

Ok Napa Valley wine snobs, get ready to get blown away. I stopped in with low expectations with a group of 8 but after just a couple of tastings I began to realize that Arizona is producing some kick ASS wine. For $10 ($5 if you bring your own glass) you will be treated to 5 generous pours of Arizona's finest. Each every glass was unique and top quality. Our server (Allison) was delightful and knowledgable. She took the time to explain each pour and made our experience super enjoyable. The tasting room is casual and is basically a warehouse. The winery is a small production that focuses on expertly crafted reds, but they do bottle whites as well and their Port style dessert wine is NOT to be missed.

The wine might be good but the layout for a tasting is awful with long lines, it feels like a Mosh Pit

The stay was fine overall, but there were quite a few frustrations. The contact number they gave us barely replied to texts, and no one ever picked up when we tried calling. The WiFi in the room was basically unusable--so slow that I couldn't even take a call. The shower has an open design, which meant water flooded half the bathroom every time. The casita itself is a decent size with space for a dining area and a bedroom, but the bed is designed to be lifted up to the ceiling, which felt completely unnecessary. That said, the view was stunning--facing the sunrise, and waking up to it was definitely the highlight of the stay. They provide a half bottle of wine as a welcome gift, but it's the cheapest wine they produce. Bottles at the vineyard start at $29, and anything else on the list starts around $44. For a place where you're right at the source, that felt steep. This makes me wonder how much are these wine costs if you buy it from a third party store. Personally, not that screw top makes any difference to the quality of the wine, but paying $50+ for a screw top bottle of wine off the shelf is unreal, especially coming from Europe. The restaurant is beautiful but the menu is rather small. Lunch is tapa style and dinner has a changing menu depending on what the chef wants to cook. Pretty hard to plan your meals if you are a picky eater.

We had a genuinely good time here. This vineyard is owned by a husband and wife who grew their own grapes for 15 years (selling to other local wineries) before deciding to make their own wine. I do feel that this experience of growing grapes has lent them the knowledge of what makes a good wine. We both did the tasting and enjoyed all of the wines; we even got an extra glass and bought a bottle to take home. Flying Kite has great vibe - we felt like we were hanging out at a friend's house. The owners were incredibly friendly and the way they chatted with us felt genuine. There were a few groups of people there, smiles well around. As the name of the vineyard states, there is also kite flying here! The owners have a bunch of kites available for anyone to use. It was so much fun flying kites while drinking wine - truly a novel experience! I would also like to note here the attention to detail in how they constructed this tasting room/patio - given how windy sonoita/elgin gets during the day, the owners were conscious of which direction the wind typically blows and therefore, they built the tasting patio so that you are completely blocked from the wind. This might seem like a minor detail but when you've been out in the wind all day, it is so nice to get a break from it. I just really appreciated this as I felt it was very thoughtful. Overall, I would say that flying kite is one of my favorite vineyards in this area. I would absolutely come back here again!
