This is my favorite winery in Elgin. It is perched on the hill and you can sit outside next to the grapes and look out over the valley. It is so peaceful to sit there and sip wine and listen to the leaves and the birds. Hummingbirds flit by visiting the autumn sage bushes. It is my favorite place to relax. However, the best thing about the winery is Taylor. He is so friendly, passionate, and knowledgeable about the wine and winery. Even if everything else was terrible, I'd keep coming back because of him. read more

This is one of, if not THE, most beautiful wineries in the Sonoita-Elgin corridor. The grounds are so inviting, from the rolling hill views to the charming fish pond (be sure to ask for fish food!) and gazebo. The inside is tastefully decorated, and there is plenty of outdoor seating if the weather is right. (It was boiling hot when we were there, so we stayed inside.) Service was top notch. We were hosted by Emily, and she was kind, funny, and knowledgeable. I did an abbreviated tasting, but I still found a wine that I liked enough to take home with me - a beautiful 100% Malvasia that was crisp and light and perfect for the hot days. Amazing experience! Took our friend here for her Bachelorette party this weekend and it was so wonderful! This is a vineyard that offers a tasting room. The day we went, they had live music with tastings outside as well. There is lots of outdoor seating and beautiful views everywhere you look! This is arguably the most beautiful winery in Southern Arizona. Your first clue is the paver driveway that greets you when you drive in - most of the other wineries are dusty gravel. You drive by the perfectly manicured rows of vines to arrive at a stunning tasting room, pond, etc. Wow. The wines aren't bad either. Their signature is the Sagrantino grape, which makes up about half of one of their blended wines and 100% of their flagship. It's a unique flavor, but I really liked it. The servers did a great job of explaining the grapes and wines - they didn't just pour your tasting and walk away. It looked like they had some outbuildings and a gazebo that could host private events - if you are looking for someplace to hold a wedding, party, etc. this could be a great venue. Definitely worth a stop if you are doing the Elgin wine tour. read more

This vineyard is one of the most beautiful ones I have visited. As you drive up to the property, you pass through their vineyards, creating a scenic drive. They have a pond with lily pads and bull frogs, a gazebo and outdoor seating. The do have weddings here. Unfortunately I did not like any of the wines I tasted. The Estate Sagrantino was ok. I feel like the wine might taste better in a few years. I didn't try everything they had, so I may have liked a different one. I do love the stemless glass which comes with the tasting. First time to Elgin and we had so much fun at this winery. Taylor Colvin took really good care of us, four women. We were in for the evening and only had time for 2 or 3 wineries on this trip and we ALL AGREED that this was our favorite. There is no "real food" just snacks available and we ate before we got there, smart choice! We bought our wine glasses and enjoyed 5 different wines and they were all good. I had my favorite, we each did and this was the best of the wineries we tried. The thing that set this experience apart from the other two was the service...and the wine (for me). Taylor gave us information about all the wines, came to us, remembered our orders (and we were all on different wines), and answered all our questions. Beautiful!! They've done so much work to this place! It was an absolutely beautiful area set up with a pond and a large grassy outdoors area where you can you take a glass of wine or bottle out and sit at a picnic table or single relaxing chairs. They've even got horse shoes in the back. They have tastings available, but we ended up just getting a glass and taking it to the pond to enjoy the scenery and beautiful weather. The staff greeted you immediately with a smile, and when you were tasting the wines, they were happy to tell you about each wine and its background/process, which is how it should be done. The wines are well made and pleasant on the nose/palate, and we even joined their wine club. The grounds are beautiful, with a small pond, a bridge, and a gazebo. We had a party of 5 and we were celebrating my niece's college graduation. We were waited on by Autumn (how cute is that) and had an excellent experience with her. I am from Tucson, but my husband has never seen the desert and we wanted a lovely desert experience for him. Autumn Sage did not disappoint. The tasting room is beautiful and the outdoor space is magnificent with beautiful plants and a stunning view. We had a truly lovely time here. My favorite varietal of grape is the Albariño, so I had Autumn Sage on my radar for our visit to Sonoita because of that. It wasn't my favorite wine that I tried here, but still quite delicious. I truly think Albariño grows so much better by the ocean where it picks up the salinity. This was still a nice Albariño but we enjoyed the other wines we tried much more. Everything we tried was balanced, dry and delicious. I'm very glad we visited and we will definitely be back. read more

I didn't know Southern Arizona has such a thriving wine industry. We were there on a weekend. There were plenty of people but it did not feel crowded. They had live entertainment including music and even a poet/story teller and a food truck and well as some folks selling vintage Native American jewlery at very reasonable prices. It's a short drive to Tucson and you travel through some really beautiful country. Great weekend day trip by car or motorcycle. Check it out for sure before the weather turns too hot. I didn't ask if they do special events but it looks like it also might be a great place to hold a wedding or an adult birthday party or something like that. read more
