We just had Jarett finalize the installation of solar screens on our house, and we are so glad we did. The screens are great! Our house faces southwest, so full afternoon sun on the back half of the house year round. We ended up screening 10 windows plus our slider door. We went with the white frame to match our existing window frames, with the black 80 rating screen material, and crossbars to match the window construction. The screens so far (after one month of being installed) have measurably reduced the temperature in the house, at the peak of the day, by 3-5 degrees. This is a big deal, as the cost for heating and cooling will easily add up over the years for the cost of the product. Not to mention the screens look great from the outside, and add a good deal of aesthetic enhancement (a side bonus to UV and heat/cool insulation). The screens to decrease some of the natural light, but we have many windows so the effect is minimal, sort of like putting casual sunglasses on your windows. We actually now prefer the soft light with the screens on, verses before. Both Jarett and Jackie (the owners) were wonderful to work with. Made the appointment for the estimate, and Jarett was able to get all measurements at that time. We proceeded with Silver State Screening after having a few other bids (they won out for several factors, but on price as well) and Jarett was able to custom manufacture the solar screens for the all the windows since he had the measurements all ready. When it came time to install, he was ready to go, and they went up easily, and look dynamite. We also had the rest of our screens re-screened with regular screen material since the old material was dirty and brittle. This was also very affordable, and due to a few screens being damaged over the years, Jarett was able to make new ones. If your in the market for solar screens, or regular re-screening, give Silver State Screening a call, you'll be glad you did. read more
