A little over a week later, the team was here, did an excellent job securing the wooden fence post with a steel one, replaced the broken fence board and even trimmed some trees back that would have caused additional damage. This review is directed solely at the customer service experience, not the workmanship of the fence itself. While the fence was installed properly and looks nice, the way this owner made us feel and the false guarantees he made leave one star as the only appropriate rating. Professionalism is part of running a company, and in this case, it was severely lacking. My mother, who is 71 years old, had her fence replaced. Along the fence line were large decorative limestone rocks, several potted flowers, and patio furniture. At the start of the project, the owner personally stated to my mother, saying: "Rest assured, we are going to put everything back to how it was." He repeated that his crew would return the rocks, flowers, and furniture to their original placement once the fence was complete. This was important to us, as many of these items are heavy and not something my mother could reasonably move herself. Later that day, when I followed up with the owner, his demeanor was shockingly unprofessional. While filming the fence for my own records, I captured him instructing his crew to violently throw the limestone rocks against the brand-new fence, shouting: "Just throw them, boys--takes five minutes, pro bono--then we're off to the next job." My mother became visibly distressed and asked them to stop, fearing for both her property and the aggressive tone of the situation. I WANT TO BE VERY CLEAR: had the owner never promised that everything would be returned to its original place, we would not have expected it. However, once that commitment was made, it should have been honored respectfully and professionally. Instead, he threw what can only be described as a temper tantrum, angrily tossing heavy rocks and yelling "pro bono" about a task he had explicitly stated was part of their service. In summary: the finished fence looks fine, but the conduct and customer service demonstrated by the owner were unacceptable. A company should never treat customers--especially elderly ones--in such a dismissive, misleading, and aggressive manner. Scary experience. read more

Unbelievably frustrating estimation experience. Refused to confirm or deny the details of what they would build. Sent them multiple photos and descriptions of what I wanted, and they kept sending back totally different fence photos. Then I actually spent 2 hours made a detailed drawing using powerpoint showing each piece of the build, relative sizes, specs and how they lined up, then the photos I sent, the ones they sent and highlighting the differences. Still refused to confirm or deny what build the fence was for, literally told me to "just trust me bro" and insisted that I sign a contract before receiving any confirmation of what the he11 they would build. That they would not agree to any kind of a sketch or drawing. Went on like this for MONTHS. All winter. I've finally just given up after a huge waste of time. FFS. I've managed at least 100 employees, and at least as many contractors. If it is this hard before the job begins it will be hell later on. read more
