My old backyard fence fell after a strong wind in late March. Called several contractors but most of them were booked through September. My neighbor and I temporarily built a small patch until the replacement is done. Went online and left a detailed message and a phone number on JP fence website. Jason called me the next day and came to my property to measure the fence we want to replace. He quoted me less than $4k for a 86 linear feet fence with metal posts and cement digging at least 2 feet into the ground using red wood, 6 feet above ground with board on board complete privacy fence. With a lot of constructions going on in the area, we were lucky to get our fence replaced in early July. His crew came in late June to remove old fence, level the ground, removed trash, dig holes 2 feet deep, and pour cement into ground with metal posts. They same crew come back a week after to finish the job. Now my neighbor and I have a beautiful strong wooden fence without seeing any metal posts facing in either side of the fence. I placed a request for a quote through Yelp, and JP Fence responded within the day, with Jason coming out to my place to give a quote within a couple days (and, I know that this season is very busy, since they were one of only 2 companies that could even come out to deliver a quote). Jason was very professional and nice, and gave a reasonable quote, along with fabulous ideas on what materials to use to bring down the cost, and how to improve the "look" of our fence! (We needed a fence and gate for our dog.) He was very polite and helpful in understanding the process of working with insurance company. Great to me since I had no idea what to expect. During the most recent wind storm, a section of our fence started falling over. I contacted Jason through Yelp with photos of what was going on. He responded with an estimate within an hour. He came out the same day to give me a solid quote. After some discussion about when to start the project, and hearing my concerns about more wind in the coming days, he was able to get a crew out the following day to fix the fence. They completed the project in one day. Jason and his crew were very professional and did a great job. The pricing was reasonable and he gave us a military discount. I contacted JP Fence to replace one of my baseboards that have been damaged and needed it done as soon as possible due to my HOA rules. Most contractors in Carson City seem to be useless. IF they return your calls or emails and schedule an appointment, they are either late or just don't show up at all. I needed to expand a gate from 9 feet to 16. I called a local contractor who told me he would drive by, take some measurements and call me with the estimate. I never heard back from him. I talked to another contractor who told me he could meet me in 2 weeks to give an estimate. I was on a deadline and couldn't wait 2 weeks just for an estimate. Typical Carson City contractors. I then called JP Fence. Fortunately, Jason from JP Fence is NOT like most contractors! He responded quickly, made an appointment for the next morning (between 8 & 10). He arrived at 8:00 sharp! He promised a written quote by the next day and it was done! He told me how long it would take for the materials to arrive and he was spot on. A week ago he told me he would try to get the gate assembled and would try to get it installed on Friday. Today is Friday ( the day after Thanksgiving), the weather wasn't optimal,but that didn't stop him. He showed up at 8 and got the posts sunk and the gate hung by 11:30! Jason is reliable, personable and does great work! I can't recommend him enough! If you ever need any fence work done, don't mess with the other guys, give Jason a call! Jason and his crew did a great job on our 5 foot black powder-coated steel fence. They installed over 300 feet of fence on our property which has some significant grade and very large rocks in several places. Jason came out quickly and provided a couple quotes for different options we had presented and dealt with changes extremely well. The installation crew was great and extremely efficient installing posts in two days and then the panels in two days the following week, so the concrete anchoring the posts could properly cure. They even filled in the low spots with rocks. Several neighbors have complimented how nice the fence looks and my dog loves her new secure space to roam! After gathering 3 bids for a complete replacement of a 22-year-old fence in SE Reno, we chose JP Fence and are totally satisfied with our decision. If you choose JP Fence for your project, be certain you know about fence construction. Do you want: * Rail widths that match post size? * A specific location of the gate latch? * Lumber tags to be removed from the bottom of each board? * Nails, screws, or staples in a relatively straight line and into the supporting rails, not through the boards to the other side? "Industry standard" was the explanation for the above-mentioned. After contacting the Nevada Board of Contractors, "industry standards" are not in place for fencing, although there might be Reno city regulations for fence heights. It must have been "industry practice" that led to such poor construction and made it much less aesthetically pleasing than what I expected. read more

J P Fence was suppose to remove trees encroaching my fence over a week ago. They told the HOA management co that it was done, They did not put back the fence. I called HOA management company last week and complained. They assured me it would be taken care of on Friday (which it was not).
