A shop with 13 reviews, and 15 disallowed reviews by the Yelp team is an indication certain reviews don't meet the Yelp standard. Read the disallowed reviews and you'll find often fictional reviews by supposed reviewers who have "1" total review (and they'll be reviews about how wonderful XYZ business is, like Silver Star Auto Haus) My experience started with three phone calls and two emails over 1.5 hours - because the phone message says "your party is BUSY, Please call back" Not a good sign, and the first indication of an arrogant culture at the business. Then the quote for Brakes and an oil change on our 2020 MB 450 GLS + our MB Airstream Sprinter Van 3500 Dual Wheel. Both quotes were within 10% of the ABQ MB dealer and you know what, when I'm in the middle of Texas or Kansas, the MB dealer will help me re-fix or deal with a repair problem from one of their shops. Not a chance if I do business with SilverStar Auto Haus. 10% price difference means nothing to me especially when considering it's not really 10% when you look at "shop supplies charge" or phony penalty which they call "credit card convenience charge" ... what an insult to any customer's intelligence. CREDIT CARD PENALTY FEE - 4% This shop prefers cash - don't we all SilverStar, wouldn't we all like to receive our wages in CASH. So Silver Star will Penalize you, if you dare utilize an acceptable payment method like, ohhh say maybe a credit card ... 4% ... Yes, that's right 4% ... so I get to pay $136 sales tax and a $72 penalty to SS Auto Haus for using my credit card. The 10% they supposedly saved me here, just turned into a measly 6% ... and you know what? I'd rather have Mercedes corporate stick behind me for warranty anyplace in North America. I'd rather have a Mercedes Service history than a Silver Star Auto Haus Albuquerque service history at resale. I'd rather have Genuine Mercedes Parts used in my MB vehicles than Auto Zone "on-sale" parts. And most of all - I'd rather do business with a reputable shop / organization and honest reputable people rather than pretenders who in the "fine print" are Gouging" their clients with a 4% Penalty the shop benefits from. Sure you got a shiny epoxy floor which looks professional, but it's obvious they you run their business with questionable business practices. An auto shop requires a mutually trusting relationship between the business and consumer. To me, this shop doesn't come close to meeting the minimum bar. Summary: RATES are fairly close to the Mercedes dealer pricing ... and not that great, yelp reviews/online reviews which may or may not be legitimate... A 4% penalty, utilizing a credit card (because they want cash... Don't we all?)... And parts, which may not always be genuine Mercedes parts. No service network to help you out if you're on an extended trip. I found the ABQ Mercedes dealer willing to be competitive with their pricing, offering additional discounts if you ask... And was referred by ABQ MB to their " service specials" online, which further reduce oil change and repair costs. I'm not necessarily saying you should do business with the ABQ Mercedes dealer, but what I am saying is there are lotta reasons "not to" do business with the shop. read more

I finally found a place where the service is truly impeccable! I highly recommend this shop. They are very thorough and provide detailed inspection reports with pictures, which I found incredibly helpful. The staff is exceptionally friendly, shop is VERY clean! Their pricing is reasonable and worth every penny. They managed to correct the mess caused by a previous shop (see my earlier reviews), and I couldn't be more impressed. After purchasing my 3rd Mercedes and seeing the dealerships service department continuing to diminish, I decided to give Silver Star a try. Admittedly, I wasn't sure about going outside the dealership. The service and communication was excellent. From my call being picked up by a human (lol) and being given an exact price for my Service B1. They accommodated my request for a loaner without any issues and got me scheduled within days. The check-in was extremely efficient and painless and I was leaving in the loaner in less than 10-15 minutes. I was provided with text updates and a comprehensive report of what the inspection found. I had replaced the brakes and rotors here and in less than 13,000 miles I was told they needed to be replaced again, I questioned this and was told there were grooves in the rotors,I knew there was no way in less than 13k miles this occurred. I asked repeatedly if Mercedes parts were used I was assured that was the case. Because the whole thing didn't sit right with me I took my car to Mercedes where I was told that what was on my car wasn't Mercedes parts and that breaks, pads and rotors last longer than 13k miles. I called silver star and asked again if Mercedes parts were used I was told yes. I have a notation in my service bill from Mercedes stating that what was taken off my car wasn't Mercedes parts,they gave me the old parts back so that I can file a fraud claim with the AG, it's so hard to find trustworthy mechanics and what silver star did was unethical, dishonest and bad business. Come here! Even if your Mercedes is under warranty, COME HERE! Avoid the Albuquerque MBZ dealership at all costs! Please, learn from my mistake! I was blown away by how knowledgeable and professional Paul was. They are transparent about their work and deliver a customer focused experience. The shop is beautiful and clean. The customer lobby is spacious, comfortable, had free wifi and an assortment of beverages. After taking my Sprinter Van in three times to the dealership for the same error code and getting misinformation I decided to seek out a second opinion. Centrally located and easy to find this shop delivered on what MBZ of Albuquerque failed. No incompetent service advisors who never see your vehicle to deal with. I was welcomed into the shop bay and shown the tests that were taken on my van and given the grim diagnosis of needing a DPF replacement. This is why I went to the dealership three times so when Paul referred me back there under the emissions warranty extension poor guy had to witness me completely break down. He went above and beyond to look at my paperwork and reach out to them himself to find a resolution. In addition he replaced the wires on my wire harness for the DPF sensor at no cost because he couldn't in good conscious allow me to leave with them worn and bare...remember, my Sprinter was in the dealership 3 times for multiple days and they never addressed it! Paul was a real class act and the legendary service I failed to get at the dealership - I got here. It was only after I asked the front desk what his name was again that I was informed he was a part owner. This place is the REAL DEAL! I wish I would have come here first. They even wiped down the van and gave it back cleaner than I delivered it. Not once did the dealership do that. They work with the dealership to ensure your warranty stays in tact, save yourself the trauma and huge bill for sub par experience and work and just come here. I know I always will. They have several local "Best of" awards and are the kind of shop that are a true service to the community. I have been denied service in total shock they have accused me of being negative. I asked a question on the difference of estimates one was 2000 and the one i had was 1500,. I did not know why the remaining two services spark plugs and transmission service was 2000. I sent them my estimate and one of the employees said the prices went up in April and the services would be. a little over 1200. I sent a message to make an appointment but instead of an appointment date. The message i received was being unsatisfied and your business was a place of positive and would no longer work on my car. I pay these people only to be denied service and barely speak to them. There is nothing negative about asking about estimates you know when you ask questions and you get a stern answer somehow i became a problem. I barely talk to the employees and the manager has never greeted me with a smile or high. Denying me service for wanting to do business with you tells me there is something else going on. I have never disrespected anyone there and asking questions in not negative. Other business are in disbelief i have shown them the interaction and they don't see how i was being negative. I do not think you liked me the first day you saw me. The first visit was ok the girls were nice but when it came to you nothing. Second visit is when i knew you did not want me in your business and I didn't really speak to anyone. I spilled my coffee on myself and had to occupy the bathroom for a while. I knew then and even though i was looked down on. I was still going to give you my money and time because other small business are struggling, Apparently my money is not good enough for your small business. I wrote to you in an email i must have offended you still don't know how but said i would respect your wishes and never return. My kind will not bother you anymore because it is uncomfortable for you. I pray for people like you and everyone should be treated equal. I was experiencing no cold air through my center vents on my 1983 Mercedes 300 D. I found an inexpensive fix on the pelican parts bulletin board that retrofitted the system to function like the older 240 D model. Some people were doing this retrofit even if they were getting cold air through their center vents because they also wanted to experience heat through the center vent in the winter.This is the response I got from This shop. I actually never heard back from Chris. I ultimately found another shop to complete this work at a nominal charge. The other shop said it took them approximately 15 minutes to fix. I had a rear right speed sensor failure while driving from Houston, TX to Durango, CO. in a MB sprinter RV. I was pretty much shut down about 10 miles north of Albuquerque. I called the MB dealer and they said they could get me in in one month!!! - big help (sarcastically). Then after a few more calls I got in touch with Chris Weber at Silver Star Auto Haus. What a great guy and extremely helpful given our predicament. He and his office manager (I assume title), Dailliah (sp?) stayed past closing time and got us back on the road the next morning for a very reasonable price. In the past 60 days I've had both my A124 and W220 serviced here. This is as close as it gets to the dealer (and actually getting a loaner here is easier than the dealer). The techs stay current on training so they're not guessing on things such as my (rare for an 18y.o. W220) 100% working ABC suspension. There's a definite sense of dedication to pleasing the customer. They're also honest; my cars are well-maintained so I can tell right away if one is trying to hook me on unnecessary services/repairs. If they tell you your car needs it, it does, and they can very likely do it for a fraction of dealer cost with comparable quality in workmanship. read more

I had mixed feelings about my experiences here but one thing sealed the deal. After waiting for 2 and a half hours for a service that should have taken 20 minutes, I was told that I needed new tires before making my long distance trip. I was appreciative even though I had to wait for so long and tried to not show my frustration. I ended up getting the tires that afternoon at Discount Tires and everything was fine. That is, until I got home and realized my license plate was falling off. There was no reason for this, and I was quite confused. Until I realized that they had taken off the plate cover I had on previously, thrown it in my trunk, and put their own advertising on the car, without asking. Now, if they had asked, I would have politely turned them down. But I was pissed to find out that during the 3 hours I was there they were just messing with my plate to get themselves free advertising. Not mention, they didn't put it on right, so three of the screws had fallen out. The plate was two seconds from falling off the car. I had to spend an hour on a wild goose chase for new license plate screws on the DAY I WAS MOVING, just because they decided to mess with something they had no right to, and no need to. This spot blows Mercedes Benz of Albuquerque out of the water even Walters Mercedes Benz in riverside, CA (had to put the state if my 505 locals don't know where that's at lol). I used to go to nothing but dealerships, key words USED TO, but after feeling like I was being lied to & misguided just to burn a hole in my pocket for the salesman's benefit not the customers benefit enough was enough. Decided to do my own research to find myself an honest business with integrity. I just don't take my car anywhere I do my research! Called in for a transmission flush, brake fluid, and a cabin filter replacement. They sent me a quote within the same day and the price wasn't even as close as the overpriced ridiculous prices they have at the dealership. As they performed the work, they found out my rear differentials were out of date and installed the updated rear differentials so it doesn't look like Wolverine slashed my tires from the inside out lol. They even went above and beyond and realigned my window washer fluid line so that I would be able to use it(FOR FREE). Let me tell you since 2013 I never used the washer fluid cleaner since i thought it was honestly broken. A MERCEDES BENZ DEALERSHIP COULD NEVER. They also found out a couple of more things that they recommended to be fixed but stated that it could wait since it had some life on it, the dealership would have stated that it needed to be replaced ASAP. Did I also mention they install Kleemann aftermarket performance upgrades for Mercedes benz? If you're a Mercedes Benz enthusiast then you know about Kleemann! Long story short they have a customer for life! I give them nothing but high praise as they are business with integrity & treat me with class every time I'm in. I was thinking about purchasing a 2006 Mercedes C3500 4 matic and took it in to get a pre purchase used car inspection yesterday. Delilah was super nice from the first initial phone call setting up the appointment. They got me in same day at a reasonable price. Blaine was thorough and showed me the problems with the car as well as the good things about Mercedes and this car. He helped me a lot. This place was recommended by good friends and I'm thankful. I am always happy with the quality of service at Silver Star. I bought a 2006 MB S600 about a year ago for 10k sight unseen, I know it was stupid. This seemed like a great deal for what was originally a 110k car and the closest I would ever come to affording this kind of luxury vehicle on my income. The car seemed much less powerful than I had anticipated and it turns out the car was only running on 6 of the 12 cylinders with neither turbo operating so needless to say it needed some work and the motor was just the beginning of my problems. Chris, Rick and Delilah all understood that I had bought a car out of my league for being able to afford repairs on my income but got it running great anyway without making me feel stupid about my purchase and had me in a car running like new. They have always worked with me to find the best pricing on parts and have always been willing to go the extra mile to find used parts when they can to help me save on costs. I appreciate this shop and crew and would not even think of going anywhere else. Everything I've said about this place is still true except that 9 out of 10 times I get my cars (plural) back the inside always has grease or foreign material that I didn't put there. Over 3 years I've spent at least 20K here on vehicle maintenance and now I'm done. Good work, crap finish. First off let me say I have never trusted any automotive shop or dealer, but I can honestly say Rick and the guys here have earned my absolute trust and confidence. I have a Mercedes GL450 and not only have they handled all of the scheduled maintenance but also a few repairs and some that didn't need anything but a fluid top off or so. Rick also gladly dealt with my extended warranty company that denies everything. He was on the phone with them for almost an hour and was able to get my repairs covered. I know they have had opportunities to exaggerate repairs and they never have. I also appreciate that they had a nice clean loaner for my wife to drive on short notice (Mercedes C230) Basically I would recommend this shop to anyone at anytime without hesitation. RIck and his crew are the best. They did a 4-wheel alignment on my 2008 MB ML350, as well as deal with a lug nut that had been threaded incorrectly. Also gave me great advice on tires and straightened me out on bad advice I received about my front struts. They are well qualified and trustworthy, everything you can ask for in an auto shop. Any time I have a problem with either of my German-made cars, the FIRST call is to Silver Star. The service advisors (Rick and Delilah) are knowledgeable and helpful. If it is something I can fix myself, they say so and talk me through it. If it is something that absolutely has to go to the dealer, they say so straight-up and arm me with good information so I don't get taken for a ride when I go over there. If it is something that Silver Star can fix, they discuss with me the options and help me choose what is best. Morgan's work is always superb, on time, and within the price quote. I have never had to take a job back nor have I found an additional problem once I have picked my car up. Heck, unlike other shops, they actually encourage me to go back where the work is being done so I can see for myself. Last two visits, the bill was significantly below the original estimate.
