The security here is so helpful and kind. I had someone park in my spot, and usually I'm not the person to snitch, but I needed to park my car really quickly for a second. I called security, and they told me that I could park in a specific spot for the 30 minutes I needed to be home. They told me they would take care of it. But when I returned to my car, the tow truck actually towed the car that was parked in my spot to free up my parking spot. I was really grateful for the speedy assistance and consideration regarding my car. Overall, security was super helpful, and I know that I can rely on them. My husband and I have lived at Silver since 2021 and we recently moved in February. The Essex acquisition happened about a month or two after we moved in and, honestly, we would have never moved in if we had known what we would have to deal with if we started with Essex. Essex completely got rid of their in-person team and opted for remote employees which I think is ridiculous since they work at an apartment building where RESIDENTS will often need immediate help. After 2 years or so, they eventually opted for in-person employees, but only on certain days at Patina, the next door building. Why at Patina? Because Essex decided to lease their leasing office to Coastal Kids, presumably a day care center. Parking was a nightmare if you didn't purchase a parking spot. Street parking is scarce and would fill up around 3PM - 4PM. Good luck parking in the evenings when there's a youth soccer game going on at the soccer field across the street. The first apartment we lived at was a 1BR unit in the corner of the courtyard that got absolutely no sun. We had to turn on all of our lights as soon as we woke up because that's how dark it was. We weren't able to tour that specific unit since it wasn't available on our tour day, so ultimately, that is our problem. TIP: If it faces the inner courtyard AND on the lower levels/not southern facing, you will be living in darkness. After our first lease was up, we moved to one of the loft units and, luckily, the sun was very strong there. There was a mishap where Silver thought we had moved out of the building completely instead of just moving to a different unit. Our key fobs and garage door opener immediately stopped working and it was a struggle to get anyone to answer the phone. It took about a week after we moved out for them to finally connect with us and fix the issue. Then when we renewed our lease for another year, they somehow thought we were moving out and, once again, deactivated our key fobs. I was late to work because I could not get to the parking garage and their "office" wasn't open until 8am. Regarding the loft: The biggest issue? THE ANTS. We are clean people. We don't leave food out and clean up immediately after we spill things. We kept having TRAILS of ants because the building is so cheaply made that whoever designed it didn't think to make sure the baseboards touch the floors. We found so many openings around the baseboards and had to resort to using tape just so the ants wouldn't have an opening. However, once we taped up one area, another area opened up. We dealt with this every single time it was hot outside. We had to throw away our cats' automatic feeders because the ants found their way inside the machine. We spent so much time dealing with Terro baits and trying to find where the ants could come in. We kept reaching out to Essex to fix the ant issue and they came to the apartment to spray the balcony (we had initially thought that was the only opening). We eventually kept getting ants week after week and I demanded something else be done. The maintenance team stated they would spray the entire apartment (not just the balcony) but in order to do so, we and our cats could not be in the apartment for at least 5 hours. The spraying could only happen on a Tuesday and it had to be early in the day as the company that does it only comes on that day. I had to take time off of work to relocate my cats somewhere else and had to deal with them being so stressed about the ordeal. One of the maintenance workers called me at 1PM to ask if they could enter the unit and I gave them the OK. When we finally returned home after it was "safe" to do so, we STILL had ants in the upcoming days and it seemed like NOTHING was done (spoiler: because nothing was done). I checked the smart lock app only to find that they were in the unit FOR ONLY 2 MINUTES. They left and locked the front door TWO minutes after they entered. Now, I'm not an exterminator, but even I know that there is NO WAY an 1.5 bedroom, 2 bath unit could be sprayed in 2 minutes. Maybe they picked up a gas can after? No. There was nothing in the apartment. The smart app did not detect the door opening until we arrived home around 5pm. This absolutely left us angry as we were completely inconvenienced by the timing only for nothing to have happened. We still had ants but we just gave up on reaching out to maintenance/Silver. I would give Silver 0 stars if I could, but I'd give 1 start for the cleaning team! Some people here are absolute pigs and will leave their trash around or let their dogs do their business anywhere and won't clean up after themselves. The cleaning crew is always constantly keeping things clean (except for the weekends since I assume they don't work). read more

Im a current resident at Silver. Ive lived in a one bedroom apartment for two years now. There are a few things I enjoy about apartment. First, the finishes and stainless steel appliance help in giving it a modern feel. Secondly, location is unbeatable. I feel like im centrally located and im also only a 5 minute drive from downtown. I have quick access to 280, 87, 880, and 101. The staff responds to emails rather quickly. The maintenance team here is awesome. Any concerns I have, im able to bring to their attention through a resident app. They usually come either same day or the very next day. Overall very happy here! read more

This apartment could not be more inconvenient. Forget having guests over, there's never parking and you can only park in the five available guest spots from 8pm-8am. The elevator has been broken 4 times since I moved in end of November and it takes them 3+ weeks to fix so either take the stairs or walk a ridiculous way around the entire apartment complex to use another elevator. Just trying to get a hold of someone at the Silver Leasing office for over 5 days already and still nothing. Before that, it took about 2 weeks to get a hold of someone. We're trying to move out and they ask us to sign a 'notice to vacate' form with incorrect information on it! The form says that we owe an incorrect prorated balance because they calculated our current rent incorrectly (charging us way more than it should be) and they are trying to say we didn't give them a 30 day notice, which we obviously did and have receipts as proof. We aren't able to pay our last month rent because they gave us the incorrect amount and aren't available EVER to correct this so now we don't know what to do because they may charge us a late fee!! This is just unacceptable and maybe a review is the only way they'll finally get back to us!! read more

I was in the process of apartment searching and it was one heck of a stressful experience because you have to tour so many places and not all the places you tour have people who like their jobs... I stumbled upon this apartment complex as I was driving by and decided to reach out to them to schedule a time to see it. I connected with Pauleen who was very responsive and attentive. She helped me set up a self guided tour with pretty clear instructions. I had some questions when I was there so I called her a few times (I felt bad for calling her so much) and each time she picked up, she was extremely positive and helpful. When I went home, the following days she stayed in contact with me as I had a few more questions in regards to applying for an apartment and other general questions. I was worried she'd be annoyed of my calls but she wasn't at all. Long story short, I had a great initial experience and the application process was pretty easy and straight forward. Do not sign a lease here if you like having somewhere quiet to live. Period. First, the insulation between the floors above you is minimal at best. I can tell you the exact living pattern of the family that lives above me. I have lost count of the amount of times I have called security and emailed the leasing office about my upstairs neighbor's loud stomping and excessive noise, and they've never done anything to solve it. I have sent videos of the noise, I have documented the times, and their response every single time has been to brush off my concerns. They also have a pool table situated *outside* in the apartment courtyard, which echos extremely loudly when people decide to play pool in the middle of the night. It's 11:30pm as I write this review, and currently there is a group of people blasting music in the courtyard while playing pool loudly. It shouldn't be up to the residents to call security every night on these people either. The only reason I can give the one star is because the maintence staff and security personnel are so nice and helpful. Every interaction I've had with both maintence and security has been extremely friendly. Be warned. If you value your peace, do not lease here. read more

I have been trying to renew my lease for two weeks now and still have not received the lease renewal documentation, even though my current lease ends tomorrow. Before Essex took over, this apartment building was quite nice, clean, and quiet. The hallways smell bad and the elevator smells worse. Packages get stolen and cars are broken into. The area seems to be a common place for people to abandon cars. Noise, smoking, and trash rules are not enforced. There's also an ongoing ant problem. read more

This place has and still is going downhill. Moved in during the height of the pandemic so all the amenities were closed for months. That's a given. However management was in the office daily and actively working on any issues the residents had. Fast forward April 2022. Essex took over the building. The removed the entire leasing staff, gave Robellos towing a contract, stopped answering calls and emails, shut down certain amenities unless you fork up a $200 deposit and seemingly gave up cleaning certain areas of the building. Every night there are junkies parked in the underground guest parking, smoking meth and actively checking car door handles for unlocked cars. When the junkies can't get in the just hit the gate with their cars and knock it off track. So the garage gates are worked on at least once a week. Packages get left in the mailroom and get stolen constantly. If your window is near the dog run you will want to keep it closed. What's really messed up is the front garage gate now permanently open so Robellos can come snatch cars out of the guest parking. The times they prey on the cars starts around 2AM and last till 6AM....just the right hours to make sure no one is awake to witness the tows. When moving in the leasing staff told ALL residents you can park in the guest parking for 72 hours. I spoke to an Essex operator because they removed the leasing staff, and guess what? Now guest parking is 90 minutes! After 90 minutes all vehicles are subject to tow....wow. Mind you no notice was provided and this sounds absurd for any guest parking situation. Just this week Robelllos had a nice cash and grab night..15 cars from 2AM - 5:30 AM on a Monday morning. total you will pay if your car is towed for day....$455! read more

Worst place to live, you have people leaving there dog poop everywhere, the trash room is so full you can't even get in to dump your trash, they want everything to look the same so no door mats but the hallways smell horrible and the carpet is almost always dirty, there is trash left in the elevators, and to top it off the fan offices don't communicate with each other and it's very obvious. One person will tell you one thing and then someone will tell you something completely different and then they act dumb or like they have no idea what you are talking about when you try and get an answer. Parking in that area is horrible and people DO NOT RESPECT quiet hours. People blasting loud music all night, and security is useless. Also if you plan on having a party and pay to reserve the room prepare for the property to not send out anything to the other residents or post signs letting residents know that the club house was rented out and then said oh well, it's a shared space and people having no respect and walking in and out of a spot that you payed for a certain amount of hours. Since moving into Silver a year and a half ago, my husband and I have raved about how well-kept the building is and how wonderful the managers are. However, after property management was taken over by Essex and the office management switched to virtual only (i.e. there's no office staff working in the office anymore), many issues started to arise including: security and safety-issues, maintenance issues, key fobs, etc. A major safety concern is that we don't see security anymore. We usually saw them at the entrances into the building or walking around the complex, however, that has not been the case anymore since Essex took over. TODAY (7/19/22), an unknown man, who claimed to live on property (really hope that is not the case for the safety of the residents) followed me to my car in the lower bottom garage from the elevator! I was stuck in the elevator with him because my key fob wouldn't work. He was harassing me, seemed to be under the influence and incoherent, tried to recruit me for some odd jobs asking me if "I wanted to make money" with him. LIKE HELLLOOO where is the security if there are people coming in trying to harass the residents living here??! I called property management many times, left two voice mails and of course no answer. We called property management around 1PM and over 3 hours later, we have yet received a call back. This is a MAJOR safety issue, causing us to not feel safe. Silver is going down hill and if you're in the market for a new apartment, please don't consider wisely. We hope Essex resolves these major safe issues ASAP! read more

It's been several months since I've dealt with Silver, but I'm still traumatized by my experiences with the management there. Although the apartments are beautiful and the amenities are nice, avoid this place! My mom passed away while a resident of this complex and dealing with the aftermath was a nightmare. I was treated horribly: First of all, they wouldn't let me accompany the police into my mom's apartment during a welfare check (where they discovered she'd died) due to "company policy" though I was listed as an emergency contact for my mom. It got worse: They ignored my calls and emails for months after Mom's death. I was distraught from my mom's death, so I had family and friends also call, and Silver's management ignored them, too. Only after I spent time, energy, and money for a lawyer to write a letter to this company was I able to finally meet with the property manager to establish a move-out plan and finally gain entry into my mom's apartment (I'm the executor of her estate). And you guessed it: they continued to charge for rent, utilities, and an (empty) parking space while they were dodging my calls. Shortly before my mom's death, her car was stolen right out of the garage, and they wouldn't turn over video footage of the garage to the police. Even after I escalated the situation to the CEO, the company refused to turn over the footage, claiming it would "take too long" and "it's not company policy to turn over the footage to the police." When I moved my mom's things from the apartment, they tried to charge for painting and a number of other extraneous things, even though my mom had only lived there for about six months, and had kept the place immaculate. Upon move-out, they sent me a bill for over $7500 in rent and more! Fortunately, I'd taken pictures of the apartment upon moving out to prove that the charges were absurd. I've heard they're under new management (they were managed by Woodmont previously), but I still wouldn't touch this place with a 10-foot pole! AVOID! read more

We lived there before Essex would take over. Adriana used had everything under control and maintenance people was always on point and working hard to keep the place clean. All the facilities, elevators were well maintained. Unfortunately our car was broken into twice and it was a struggle to get footage but we were able to go thru our renters insurance. Security was helpless. Essex is the management now and we can tell that the quality of the place is below desired hopefully the other company will take over again and we'll be happy to go back. Have been living here since 2020, enjoyed amenities and quietness here. You barely hear any noise during the day or at night. They did a good job maintaining cleanness in shared space. One day my door lock was out of battery, they came to replace the battery within 20 minutes on a weekend.
