Only stopped in for a quick drink but for what looks kinda sketchy on the outside, is actually clean and nice on the inside. It was afternoon so the crowd was kinda of sparse, several UA employees seemed to dominate. Really nice people. Bartender was nice enough, drinks were cheap enough. And you can order BBQ at the little restaurant next door and they bring it to you! That's a bonus!

Right in the middle of a neighborhood, check out that Hyundai!!

A great neighborhood drinking place, Irene the bartender is awesome and they have Michelob Amber Bock!!

The Silver Room is one of my favorite dives in town! When I was a kid I used to live right down the street from this bar and I was always really intrigued yet scared to check it out. Now a couple decades later I am so happy I finally did! The place might not look like much from the outside - or if you're like me it's too much - but the inside is impeccably clean and orderly. If Irene is working then you are going to feel at home in literally 2 seconds. She is kind and just a joy to see and she keeps everything sanitized and is all about following the new protocols during Covid! As for the bar it has a wide selection of canned/bottled beers and while not an enormous selection they do have spirits as well. Recently they have added some food to munch on which include pizzas and maybe something else? Anyway it's been a little while since I've been in but I can't wait to go back :)

Super fun place to hang out and chitchat with friends. Karaoke night is also a great release.

Poor service. Bartenders were extremely rude and unwelcoming. If you're looking for a chill atmosphere go somewhere else!!

If you love a good eclectic, dive bar experience, you NEED to swing by The Shelter. We were…read morevisiting out of town and heard about this place from a friend, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Upon first glance, the outside of this establishment is unassuming, but when you walk in you are flooded with warm colors anda sweep of nostalgia from the 60's. There is an assortment of seating areas, we chose a comfy booth next to the bar. The whole menu is so affordable, we each had at least 2 drinks apiece and we each walked out with a bill under $20. I ordered the desert dessert and a Twiggy martini. Both were solid pours. The staff we so kind and helpful and were quick to offer a suggestion. Bonus points to having solid parking options and a pool table and shuffleboard inside.

There aren't many places in Midtown with this level of dedication to looking retro. The Shelter is…read moreheavy on mid-20th century design, with an interior completely dedicated to JFK memorabilia. It's kitsch and offbeat, maybe even offputting if you think too hard about the legacy of that family, but it's anything but boring. What I love: They're big on doing their own infusions. You absolutely must try Pam's Spicy Lemonade--Hornitos with thai chili and mint. I've also had coffee-infused liquors here before that you'll rarely find anywhere else. I'm not a smoker, but I get stoked for their enclosed smoking patio with a couple old arcade cabinets (I like Centipede!) What I like: There are like, really cheap simple cocktails with the creativity to make some unappealing, bottom shelf liquors taste palatable. Those aren't my usuals, but I'm always intrigued. I will shamelessly have a couple $3 High Lifes. There's only one big bar in the center of the lobby, but service is generally fast. It's dimly lit and can be tightly packed, but you'll still have fun. Good for date night or groups of four or less. No food, but once in a blue moon you'll find a truck parked out front. Overall, a solid Tucson staple.

Let me start by saying that I am not typically a dive bar type of place. However, my friend had…read moreheard about this place recently and since we were headed to a show across the street at Groundworks, we figured it was the perfect time to check it out. I was a little nervous after having read the older reviews that were less than stellar. Then I realized that it was under new management so maybe it would be worth a visit. We had the good fortune of having Sara as our bartender. She was amazing! I am a very picky drinker, unlike most people who would be in a dive bar undoubtedly who would be happy with anything. I asked if she could make me something that didn't taste at all like alcohol and she stepped right up to make it happen! I like fruity stuff and the drink she pulled together fit the bill. I also had a Jell-O shot and a bag of Fritos. There's a (modern-day version of a) jukebox as well as an old phone booth in the corner which for whatever reason gave me great joy to see. There are also two pool tables. It's a small place so when it gets crowded I'm sure it's packed. We showed up at 5 p.m. on a Saturday night so it was still lightly attended which worked great for us to just hang out, drink, and chat. I'm glad we gave this place a try and would be happy to return. Check it out and see what you think!

We were split into 2 groups and we were fine with it. In the future, I would probably limit a reservation to 6. My table ordered 1 of everything on the menu. My faves were the coco nido wings (wings with coconut rum glaze), the Stoner fried rice, and the ahi wonton tacos (cucumber, jalapeno, soy ginger, Chubasco aioli, wasabi peas). For my drink, I ordered the Fogcutter (vintage favorite combines a blend of light rum, cognac, gin, orgeat, fresh orange and lemon juice, and is finished with a port float), refreshing and not too sweet. We implemented the 'take 1 and pass left" maneuver to share all the dishes amongst us. We had a great time eating and comparing notes. There were 2 bartenders and 1 dude running food. it's not a place to eat fast. You have to be willing to chill and take in the vibe. Half the people in our party had just arrived to town so it was the perfect, festive yet low key, speakeasy setting for our party. I got a lot of in-law family points picking this place. This was my 2nd here and both times have been super fun. Thank you, Cabali, for a memorable family occasion!
