bacon cheeseburger and sweet potato fries

We went for lunch. Limited menu with NO steaks on it. Low wait staff and he seemed to have to take care of everyone. He did his best. Cobb Salad ok and the Silver Fox Burger was not worth the 15.00. Sweet potato fries were good. Easy to find but out of the main town. Lots of parking. The Ambiance is dim lights in individual booths. Great for evening but not for lunch.

    Halibut with rice pilaf.

Silver Fox Restaurant was just a fantastic dining experience. My wife and I went on a Saturday for our 20th wedding anniversary. I ordered the steak, and my wife ordered the halibut. The appetizers came quickly, and the meal was served shortly after we finished our appetizers. We enjoyed the jazz music in this quiet, peaceful, and comfortable dining environment. My wife and I will make this restaurant one of our regular eating establishments. This restaurant is a five-star plus place to go.

I thought I had already left a review here, was it disputed? Well here it is again, Went here for my birthday. Food: Food was cold, my husband did say something about it and they "warmed it" up so they took it back. I'm skeptical about sending food back so I left mine as is. That piece of meat had so much fat in it and looked gross. He ate around it but left a big chunk of fat aside. I don't think that's what prime rib is supposed to look like. As for my steak, I had ribeye asked for it medium well and as you can see it was medium rare? We didn't touch the veggies that were served with it. We did get loaded mashed potatoes, they were okay. Didn't care for the salad or rolls they were bland, we were there for the meat which was unfortunately a bummer. I had a cheap wine, which I then noticed I could have bought a whole bottle for the price we paid. My main issue was the steaks, I was really looking forward good food and was really disappointed and disgusted by all that fat on the prime rib. Service: it was okay, not great. The server checked on us a couple of times and seemed to have been very busy didn't bother coming back. Did seem like everyone was busy serving. Atmosphere: We wanted a quiet space to enjoy my birthday dinner and it was a bit loud it was nice inside though. There was a table we sat next to, it was a big group and they had kids who were sitting with their feet up on the chair, (they were laying on the chair and their feet were up on the back rest). Yes it's a family friendly place but nobody wants to see feet up while they're eating. That's not the restaurants fault but it was still happening there. We did ask if there was a more quiet area to sit at and they did not accommodate for us they said we had to make a reservation for it and we were already there (also it did not look like it was busy on the other side) but we didn't argue about it. I tried to make the most out of it since it was my birthday but we will not be back to this place, I do not recommend it at all.

    Salmon

The salmon was great and definitely a good option if you aren't a steak lover. The asparagus was underwhelming and I probably should've gotten a different side. The salad is basic and I liked the addition of edamame but the lettuce didn't seem all the fresh. The dinner rolls are hard as a rock...was here with a huge party so appreciate how attentive the waitress was still able to be though.

This is such an interesting place, big restaurant with a neat little bar area. Staff was friendly but service was really slow and it seemed like staff had too much to deal with. I love fried green tomatoes, it's why I specifically stopped here and man what a disappointment. Paper thin cut tomatoes so you couldn't taste them over the breading. Don't order them. The chicken fried chicken was pretty good and saved this meal, the gravy was nicely done as well although they should add some spice to it. Mashed and veg were also executed well. Overall i probably wouldn't make this a main spot if I was in the area but it was "fine".

Me having to sit like an outsider, with my family sitting nicely in the booth.

Excellent food. Excellent service. I had the brisket. Perfect blend of tender and crunchy. Get the lemon cake if they have it.

Just finished dinner. I had the special a bacon wrapped filet, walleye cakes and scallop potatoes I'll just say it was to die for.

Moonlight Liquors: Where the Drinks Are Cheap, and the Chaos Is Free…read more If you're looking for a dive bar with all the charm of a back-alley brawl and the customer service of an overworked prison warden, look no further than Moonlight Liquors. Tucked away in a dimly lit corner of town, this place offers an experience that's less "laid-back watering hole" and more "lawless frontier saloon." The night started off simple enough--cheap drinks, a questionable jukebox selection, and a clientele that looked like they'd been living off whiskey and spite for the better part of a decade. But it didn't take long before things took a turn. Enter two local scholars, fueled by whatever toxic mix was sloshing in their cups, who decided they had a bone to pick with us. What started as typical drunk posturing escalated quickly into outright hostility, featuring the kind of language that makes you question both their intelligence and their ability to exist in polite society. And here's where the true magic of Moonlight Liquors really shines--rather than stepping in to de-escalate the situation, the bartenders, who were clearly best pals with the local goons, decided we were the problem. Never mind that we were simply trying to enjoy our drinks in peace. Never mind that we were the ones being harassed. Nope, the moment their friends started throwing out threats, the staff flipped the script and turned their misplaced rage toward us. What followed was a masterclass in unhinged customer service. The bartenders, possibly channeling their inner banshees, unleashed a verbal assault that could peel paint off the walls. Screaming, pointing, full-blown psychotic breakdown mode--all aimed at us for the apparent crime of existing. Then, as if we hadn't already gotten the message that we weren't welcome in their little fever dream of a bar, we were unceremoniously kicked out into the night, while their pet troublemakers undoubtedly celebrated their victory with another round of whatever rotgut they were sipping. So, if you enjoy bars where the staff hates you, the regulars are looking for a fight, and the entire establishment feels like a failed social experiment--Moonlight Liquors is your spot. Otherwise, save yourself the headache and drink literally anywhere else. Rating: 0/5 stars - Would rather drink tap water in a gas station bathroom.

Preface: I'm a very eccentric individual, and I enjoy simple things in life. My review will be…read morebased mostly on that fact alone. However, other notable details relate to the business side of things rather than pleasure. As a traveler, I have encountered many hotels of different style and experience. Lots that are uniform in pattern, lots that boast comfort but beds feel like Tiggers tail instead, most with the similar appeal of get in, get out. Today I've checked into the Hotel Labonte. I'm literally passing though here on my way home, so I dont need lavish things or experience. Prior to check in, I was overwhelmed by the typical motel/hotel options. Some that were too expensive for just a few hours of sleep, most I've decided to never do business with again, and some with OKAY reviews. What drew me to this hotel was the antiquated appeal. This place has history. I love history. With just a few reviews to go off of, I wasn't super sold. So I did some research on the hotel. Found some pictures. My interest; peaked. I decided to book. It's very quiet, maybe because it's still early, but I like that. The rooms are locked with actual keys, no key card that gets deactivated by your phone!! The overall appeal of the hotel is great, the cleanliness is impressive. But the selling point are the rooms. Each is different, I saw 3, my own included. The decor, the bedding, the layout, i find it very comforting. The rooms are VERY clean. I'm a clean freak and for once, I am not grossed out or picky about how the room was cleaned. The bathroom in my room is small. Basically like a guest bathroom, but with a tub. However, despite the size, I dont feel overwhelmed or claustrophobic. Because this place is so old, an initial concern of mine was water pressure. Nothing is more disappointing to me than longing for a hot shower and finding out the water is a sad trickle. To my shock, the water pressure is perfect! The best shower I've taken outside of my own at home. The rooms include: a TV, a microwave, a wardrobe, nightstand, and of course the bed. Now let's speak of the bed: definitely a surprise!!!! It's so soft and comfortable, I will have no issue falling asleep FAST. I've stayed in hotels with more popularity, and their beds do not compare. Ultimately, I am THRILLED with my stay. This hotel has a wonderful "homey" feel, and I LOVE it. To be completely honest, I am sad I'm not staying for more than a day. I would like to experience more so I can review but from what I have experienced, I cant help but rave about this place! 10/10, would HIGHLY recommend.
