The bartenders, possibly channeling their inner banshees, unleashed a verbal assault that could peel paint off the walls. Screaming, pointing, full-blown psychotic breakdown mode--all aimed at us for the apparent crime of existing. Then, as if we hadn't already gotten the message that we weren't welcome in their little fever dream of a bar, we were unceremoniously kicked out into the night, while their pet troublemakers undoubtedly celebrated their victory with another round of whatever rotgut they were sipping.
