We are traveling cross country and chose this place from the great reviews. We have been craving a good steak. The parking lot was full, and it is a large parking lot so that was a good sign. It smelled wonderful from outside as well. We walked in to a packed restaurant with no reservation. We were able to be seated right away though in the lounge otherwise it was a 40 minute wait. Our waitress was very nice and read us the specials. We chose the rib eye special, a 14 Oz ribeye. I had tortellini soup and my hubby had salad. Both were very good. We also received warm bread and butter. When our dinner came we were a bit dismayed. The mixed veggies consisted of mostly sliced red onion with 2 small pieces of broccoli and a piece of zucchini. My husband had a few carrots so I gave him half my onions and snagged one of his carrots. I was very disappointed in the fact that the special.was $49 but no thought put into the items that came with it. It is like they just tossed a few things on the plate with the steak. The rib eye had very good flavor but was much thinner than what I was expecting and had quite a bit of fat. Our neighboring table got the prime rib (medium sized) and it was thicker than our steak. We had such a great experience! We had asked the front desk at our hotel where she recommended to eat, and she highly suggested Silver Fox. We had a 30 min wait for a table, but they gave us rolls to help my diabetic mother get thru the wait. The atmosphere was so relaxing. Everyone was so polite. Our waiter, I can not remember his name, but he has been a waiter for 30+ years. He was so attentive, polite, and rocked it! We had the prime rib, queen size, veggies and sweet potatoes, and a salad wedge. We had the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer beforehand. The portions are very generous! Everything was good but the staff definitely rushed us through meal. We had almost no time between our starters and entrees and they almost brought the check before we could order dessert. This is the -best- Restuarant in Casper for food and service. and it is usually quiet. Lunch menu is quite good and evening is -great-. Business or family. Restaurant is divided. If you want quiet and a bit of isolation, they have a room of secluded booths, some large enough for 5 or 6. This is the area I always take my sweet bride of 51 years for our quiet anniversary and birthday celebrations. They have two larger areas for larger family, friend or business. I have had company Christmas dinners here with some 30 people. And they have a lounge area that serves good food also. When she sat me at my utencil-less table, there was a pepper shaker sitting on the seat of my booth where I was about to sit. When the bus boy finally brought my silverware, he plopped it in the middle of the table nowhere near my plate in some haphazard x pattern. That cut it. First impressions are everything. Where do I start... First was the brisket which looked like someone chewed it and spit it out all over the plate, and not to mention the sauce that was so sour you had to rinse your mouth out multiple times.. The medallions which were mushy and looked like last weeks scrapings. The Alfredo fettuccine shrimp which the shrimp was rubbery but still edible didn't seem like they were grilled more like steamed. The Alfredo sauce didn't have much flavor and was quite bland. Very excited to go here tonight. My husband said it took weeks to get into. We made reservations for 8:00. When we arrived, the was an abundance of tables available. We were seated at a table in the corner of a large room. I guess that was the corner where they store the extra chairs. In a corner, where it was easy to miss or walk by. It took them about 15 minutes to wait on us. Server seemed bothered or too busy to tend to us properly. Never told us about the bone in ribeye special or any other specials, we had to ask. We ordered our appetizer of the bacon knots and within 3 minutes we had them. They were super sweet, not what the reviews said they were. The menu said we would be served rolls. We both ordered the clam chowder, when it arrived, it was lukewarm, and there weren't any crackers and we never received the rolls. Husband ordered the filet, which was dry and not seasoned. I ordered the deep fried lobster. It was okay. The lobster was a good portion, but far too salty. We each ordered one beverage and were never asked if we wanted another. I had to ask twice for more water. Finally, she brought the rolls, at the end of the meal. Needless to say, very disappointed! Will not be returning. read more

3/4/2022. My mother in law wanted to treat herself her son and myself to a "good meal" and boy, did she ever! I'll get one negative out of the way before I hit the Parade of Positive comments. We made reservations at 7:30 for three adults and asked specifically for a table explaining, as my husband has a muscular enough body mass, he doesn't comfortably fit in a booth and if the booth is standard size, it's a bit crowded for the diner seated next to him. We arrived a few minutes early and were immediately greated by a charming young girl who looked me in the eyes, spoke clearly and loudly enough to be heard over the din of a packed house. There was a delay because they were obviously VERY busy. I reminded her of the request for a table and she indicated it shouldn't be a problem. There were two other couples waiting ahead of us. When seating became available after a wait of about 20 minutes, not a big deal---, we've waited longer for vastly less favorable results, it was in a booth. I reiterated we had reserved a table but she was so sweet in her apologies that it ceased to matter. Hangry was slipping in. We made the best of it, not wanting to cast a pall on the makings of a good evening. Immediately, glasses of ice water and menus were laid out by the busser while our server, Raymond, hustled in with a cloth covered basket of hot rolls and remis of whipped butter, bread plates and cloth napkin wrapped silverware. He took our beverage orders; water, anniced tea and a virgin margarita without an eye roll. Raymond began what I can honestly say was one of the top 10 dining experiences I have had ever enjoyed. And Im an old grandma. Ive eaten all over the US and Canada. He was extremely cordial, attentive, friendly, very informative and all around just wonderful. All of our orders arrived hot and just as ordered. I took pictures so y'all can see the portions. Sorry for the photo quality, I neglected to turn on the flash. Husband thoroughly enjoyed his freshly prepared and definitely not canned, oyster stew. The rib steak was well marbled, tender and delicious. Mother commented several times during our meal how terrific the generous cut of prime rib she was enjoying had been prepared just right and paired with a baked potato she was happy to tell me she could tell had "actually been baked in the oven" and not wrapped in foil to endlessly steam. I ordered the chicken fried chicken simply because I was curious about the preparation. Ooo, was it delicious! Two pieces of tender, boneless chicken breast, filleted and dredged in, I think corn flake crumbs then fried. It was hot all the way through, evenly juicy and tasted just great. No dripping french fryer grease either. The cleverly presented mountain of mashed potatoes looked as tho they were plated using a soft serve ice cream machine to serve. A pretty defining effect I appreciated. That and a separate bowl of gravy in addition to what the chicken was sparsely garnished with made for a huge serving. And....the fresh veggies were sauted in butter. Delightful soft, fresh dinner rolls and whipped butter....ooooo. I topped my epic meal with a tasty serving of whipped cream and raspberries creme brulee. Oh so good! Throughout the entire time, Raymond attended to us as though we were the only diners he had. Never once were we left wanting or waiting for anything. Between Raymond and the busser, the table was kept clear of excess plates and water glasses always full. In spite of being packed, we never felt rushed to hurry up so the next batch could come in. It didn't feel as though it took forever to get our meals. I didn't get a chance to scrutinize the whole facility but what I saw in passing thru, it was clean, tidy and in good repair. I liked that the booth spaces were compartmentalized rather than a wide open design such as I saw in the lounge. I don't know if it was post-pandemic design but it made dining a little more intimate. Raymond. Ah, Raymond. That man needs to open a studio and teach courses on how to properly serve food and beverages. WE need it! He reset the bar for the level of service I will find adequate from here on. I left him the largest tip I have ever left for anyone. Came here with my wife in April for my 59th birthday and just getting around to reviewing our experience. It was a Tuesday night and packed! We were seated by the hostess after a short wait. While waiting I ordered a couple drinks from the bar which was also packed and was served immediately. I asked Our server if there was a special occasion that night given the large crowd and she said it was like that most of the time anymore. Always a good sign. She asked if we had come for prime rib - that was the MAIN reason we came - it's my favorite so I told her yes and she said she would reserve one of two servings (my wife prefers a ribeye) left, for me. Wow! How sweet is that? Everything impressed that evening. Absolutely wonderfully managed and having been in the restaurant business myself, knowing how challenging it can be, the whole place and experience ran like a fine-jeweled watch! Traveling through Casper and saw this restaurant was on the "Wyoming Prime Rib Trail" so thought it must be good. We were disappointed. The service is quite attentive and friendly. But the main event, prime rib was disappointing. Dry and not served especially hot. My mashed potatoes were also rather cold. The dinner roll was great. I imagine some nights they do better than this based on the number of great reviews. But for someone raised on Wisconsin supper club prime rib, this was not special. read more

I don't know why locals love this place. It reminds me of a steakhouse in the 80s that has never changed. Maybe that's why people like this place. To me it is bland and overpriced. I've eaten here a few times each time hoping to like the place, but each time it falls short of my expectations. It was good, but not $100 dinner (no alcohol) for 2 good.
