Different experience and very relaxing. I would go again and just do the float and a massage. I don't like saunas, but if you like saunas, again nice experience. Today was my first time here. My friend and I were schedulea for the infrared sauna. The woman at the front desk was SO pleasant and friendly. She made us feel right at home. My friend had scheduled her session after mine but the woman at the front desk offered us to use the same sauna (if we felt comfortable, which we did). This isn't your normal sauna, I felt so light and rejuvenated when my session was over! It was a great experience and I know I will be back for sure! I can't speak any higher of Silver Essence Floating Spa. I have been to this spa a total of three times now. After the second time in I decided to purchase the yearly membership, which is very reasonable monthly for the amount of health benefits this experience has given me. I feel so relaxed after each sauna and float session, and cant wait to come back every time. I recommend everyone to do this for the numerous health benefits as well as stress relief and relaxation is supplies. The spa is absolutely beautiful, clean and the staff is so friendly. During Covid I was trying my best to stay healthy, and that included getting to the sauna for some sweat therapy. Now it's prettying expensive as it is to use there sauna, but I purchased a three pack a few times. I wanted my wife to experience it also so she joined me 2 times. The one time they let her come in with me, the second time she made me pay separate. The sauna is max 2 people, And you pay almost a dollar a minute for this room. My thought was I basically rented the room for the half hr, and I should have been able to bring my wife... they go in after and clean it's not like they have to do more work. Anyway that turned me off of this business. I would have kept patronizing them had they not done that to me. They weren't particularly busy, and I was coming in on a regular basis. They also acted like it was a bother that I wanted to pop in now and then and use the sauna... saying if I didn't use the shower I could come there like it would be less of a hassle... read more

I visited the Silver Essence Floating Spa as a groupon gift from my beloved hubby. When he presented me the gift, I insisted that I didn't want to experience such gooey relaxation alone, so he bought one too and we decided to go as a couple. I booked the appointments online- bonus. I hate picking up the phone, and the online booking meant that I could book at 3 am when I happened to be up and looking for something to do. YAY! I love instant gratification. I put a reminder on my google calendar and waited for the big day. The "floating spa" therapy has been around for a bit, but neither myself nor by partner had ever been to one. I read up (swimsuit not required, don't eat too much beforehand) and we got in the car and headed over. The interior is done up like a Martha Stewart forTarget ad. Large soothing sage green diamonds on an eggshell colored wall, a hanging chandelier, a ivory dresser and wall shelf covered in small trinkets and salts for purchase. The gentleman, who addressed himself as one of the owners, gave us a quick tour, told us to use the earplugs so we didn't get water in our ears, and then it was off to our separate rooms. I undressed and stepped into the shower. Where there was no soap, and no shampoo. Only a BIG industrial sized boat of conditioner. Knock number one. Mildly skeeved, I convinced myself that the literally TONS of epsom salt in the soak would kill anyone else's bacteria in the bathwater. Fortunately, I had just been travelling and had travel sized soap in my purse. Go Go Gadget Girlscout behavior. Oops... that was the other purse. I washed up, filled my ears with the provided silicone, and stepped through into the soak. It is a very pretty, stone tiled small room with about a foot of tepid water and a fiberoptic cable running just underneath. I lay back, and allowed myself to float, getting comfortable while waiting for the light to flick off signalling the end of my five minute "prep" period. When the light did flick off, I was left with the slowly color changing fiberoptics. It was pleasant and soothing, and there is the option to turn it off for a "true dark" experience. Which, of course, I did. After an amount of time, my body and mind did the expected drift. I did note that I could still see a bit of light from over the top edge of the front door beyond the shower, but it didn't effect me. UNTIL. I saw the light WIDEN and SHUT again, as if someone had just entered the room. I was now naked, in a pool of water, alone, and with nothing but stone walls and my own heartbeat. In a word, I was *TERRIFIED*. I turned slowly over, so as not to make any noise, and stared, shaking, on my hands and knees at the doorway. I began to calculate, knowing that my only contact at the spa was in the next room over, but that he would be wearing earplugs and that he wouldn't hear me. I figured that, given one good hard kick, I might be able to shatter the shower door and use a piece of broken glass as a shiv. And I became as still as I possibly could, tensing every single muscle in my body. I searched the shadows with salt streaming into my eyes, too scared to wipe the water away. The light widened and shut again. I breathed... whomever was there had left, presumably. I relaxed, and sank back, letting the fear drain away. I began to surmise. Someone had come in, replacing a towel. Or perhaps they didn't know the room was occupied. A million other reasons. The light widened again, and this time I was able to see clearly what was going on. THE BATHROOM DOOR ACROSS THE HALLWAY THREW LIGHT INTO MY ROOM WHENEVER IT WAS OPENED OR CLOSED. I nearly fainted in my relief. Then I felt like a complete idiot. Then I tried, unsuccessfully, to lay back and let my mind go. Ignoring the light on the ceiling opening and closing. When my time was up, I was a nervous friggin wreck. I stumbled out, showered as best I could with conditioner and water, and got dressed. When I met my husband in the lobby, he was in a gooey bliss. This is the ONLY reason I'm giving the Silver Essence Spa any stars at all. When the owner asked about our experiences, I tried as hard as I to be factual, and not emotive, about the light over the door and my fearful experience. I didn't want to bust my husband's bubble. The ONLY response I got from the owner, however, was "oh." I do know that I was NOT very successful, based on the look my husband gave me. And "Hunh. I thought I checked the shampoo this morning", as he then LOOKED AT MY PURSE as if to asses if it was big enough to carry away a gargantuan shampoo. DUDE. I thought I was going to get raped and killed in your friggin bathhouse and you visually accuse me of stealing your shampoo. All in all, I'm sure this is a *great* experience for many. For me it was just trigger central and a one way ticket to PTSD land. I will not be returning, nor recommending to anyone. Blegh. read more

Having learned about Flotation Therapy many years ago, I was very excited to finally take advantage of this spa. Upon arrival, parking was super easy in a lot right next to the building (there is also a public lot across the street). I was warmly greeted upon arrival, filled out some quick paperwork (including promising not to poop in the pool), and was whisked away to my sauna. I was given a towel wrap as well as a bathrobe and provided with a towel and washcloth. I started my treatment with a 30-minutes infrared sauna session which was great. There is a TV in the sauna, or you can turn music on as well as a fan. Once I had sweat until I didn't think I could anymore, my time was up and I was moved to the next room to float. The changing area in the floatation room offers up clear instructions (including the importance of wearing the provided ear plugs), as well as receiving verbal instructions from the staff. A quick shower and I hopped into the pool. It's a shallow pool, but large and deep enough that you don't really hit the sides or the bottom ever. I'm 6'2" and I was able to stretch out with my arms fully extended over my head and wasn't able to touch either end. There was also an easy to reach button to turn off the LED lights in the pool to experience total sensory deprivation. It really is quite incredible how you just float to the surface immediately. To be fully suspended in body temperature water for 90 minutes is a very unique experience. And by the way, 90 minutes flew by. Once done, another shower to get the salt off (there is soap, shampoo, and conditioner provided, but unscented and rather generic). When I walked out of the floatation room, one staff member commented that I was glowing. I truly felt like I had just left the massage therapist, without ever being touched. It's amazing what floating can do for a body. I left and felt like I was drunk. Even though I experienced this through the discount of a Groupon, this is something I can see myself doing over and over again. So, do yourself a favor, and go float. read more

I was really looking forward to a great experience. I had never tried this before and was really curious. I made my appointment on-line - very convenient - I wish all businesses did this! Since I had no experience with floating and couldn't find much information on the website about what I needed to bring (An FAQ would be very helpful) I sent an email asking what to expect and what to bring. I never received a reply, so I called when it got closer to my appointment time and I left a message (the hours are limited). They returned my call a few hours later and were very helpful telling me to bring only myself. When I arrived I was shown to my room and told to shower, put in ear plugs, and then enjoy the experience. She felt the water and the look on her face told me something wasn't quite right, but she didn't say anything else and I was left to myself to prepare for my floating experience. I showered (TIP: the products provided (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner) are not salon quality or even from the same brand - bring your own if that matters to you). When I stepped into the shallow pool the water felt cold and I was hit with a pungent musty odor (is this how it is supposed to smell?? Is it the salt? Am I hyper sensitive to the smell?). I eased myself in, and although I was shivering, I hoped I would get used to it. As I lay floating - you really do float quiet easily - I tried to ignore the cold and the smell and just relax. Anytime I moved, shivers would roll across my body. Soon my neck and shoulders tensed from the cold and I couldn't take it anymore. My float was supposed to be 90 minutes but I only lasted 30. I showered and dressed. TIP: bring a hair dryer. I left with wet hair in the cold. I did notice one in the bathroom on my way out, but I think there is only one bathroom and if people are scheduled for the same time it could be a problem. I didn't think to ask about this - so you might want to. When I walked out to the lobby she asked if it was cold and said she noticed the temperature was low after I was in the room. Apparently, the heater went out or broke. I asked what temperature the water was supposed to be and she said 95. That still seems cool to me as the average body temperature is 98.6. I think I would at least prefer bath water temperature. To make up for the poor experience she gave me a certificate for a free 60 minute float (I supposed because I had used 30 minutes?). I don't know if I will use it because of the smell and the right temperature seems to cool. But so many people have had a great experience, so mine may have been an anomaly. read more

I felt incredible after the soak was over. I went for the 1.5 session which was the perfect amount of time. You can choose to go completely dark or with fiber optic lights. Awesome. The waiting area is nice, cosy, and clean. You are greeted by some awesome owners. Both are very welcoming and warm. It sets the mood from there. The layout of the tubs are quite clever compared to some other places that are just tun in a center of a room, with some random shower off in the corner. Instead it's an all connected, like rectangle style design. You start from the changing room, up a small step to the shower, then down a step into the tank. Great design, keeps privacy to a max, and temps warm. The water was warmed to skin temperature. I never felt the need to warm up. Breathing may feel heavy at first, but after relaxing you start to adjust to the thicker humidity? The lighting was great. It's all timed. So by the time you finish you shower, the dressing light turns off in 5 minutes, and another 5 minute later your tub light will go off automatically as well. Making for easy transition. There's a small LED lighting strip around the tub, it's easily activated with an on and off switch. I go on but that's the jiff of the layout. --- The tub was large, warm, and filled with the essential minerals and salts. Enough to where you instantly float to the top. My neck seem to have a lot of tension, I did get use to it after awhile but anyone with a bad neck will feel it quickly. Perhaps little floaties for neck support might be helpful. My only downfall is you do hear a little excessive sound. Either doors closing, light talking, the filter running, or bubbles popping. For me it didn't take away from the experience but if i was in a DEEP meditative state perhaps it would be annoyance to some. --------- Verdict : It's cosy, the water is warm, the tank is clean, the layout is nice. I didn't have any major breakthroughs as you hear but with practice I can defiantly seeing it being probable. Check it out if you have high stress, an active athlete, into new age "medicine", or for a new fun spa like experience. read more

Silver Essense has e-mailed me several times, asking me to review them on Yelp. i am happy to oblige. As a hard-core floater (5 hours a week for over 10 years in an apollo tank, I know how a flotation center should be run, like a healing center. The pre-float shower is standard. I hope no one applies body wash or hair conditioner prior to floating, as this pollutes the water. I do not think the water is recirculated between floaters. There no flotation tanks at all. There are two roman tub-type setups. As in all centers, the water is body temp, and the abundance of Epsom salts leave one's skin silky. THE GOOD: Pleasant lobby (LOVE the green rockers), Mary Silver is a lovely lady & co owner of the business. The plushy robes are a nice touch if you need to leave your dressing room to dry your hair with the provided hairdryer in the bathroom. it's okay to take an extra towel out of the cupboard into your dressing room. THE BAD: The shower head in Float room 1 has been broken for at least 3 years, although maybe this has been fixed by now. The toiletries provided for the guests for showering, washing hair are abysmal. For the price of one float, guests should be offered some very high end salon products to complete the experience. And I don't mean Caress or Dollar General. A shelf to hold these products would be helpful. As of now, giant bottles of ???are sitting on the floor of the shower stall. I know by the scent & foam they are cheap and loaded with detergent and SLS. THE UGLY: What is this place? is it a healing center? A costume jewelry store? A place to hear an MLM pitch about some skin care line? it's definitely a business. period. Every other flotation center I have visited around the world put the customer first. usually tea and robes are offered. Silver Essence is NOT a healing center. when the float is finished, instead of having someone gently knock on the door, begin the recirculation process, or pipe soft music into the tank, (all preferred methods), Silver Essence turns on a HUGE overhead spotlight which sort of nullifies the entire float, being jerked back into the real world in such a harsh manner. Really, there ARE other ways to let the floater know "time's up!. THE PRICE: Here's my take on their pricing model. They KNOW they are the only game in town, PLUS located in (ahem) trendy Williamsville allows them to charge whatever they think their market will bear. Yet another example of how this is a business and not a healing center. $40-60 for a ONE HOUR FLOAT? Outrageous. I previously lived in Denver and the flotation center I visited twice a week had a monthly unlimited float package for $175. I approached Craig, the other owner about offering this option & was told that they had stopped using Groupon (they hadn't) and would address the issue at a later date. 2 years later, no passes or, say, a $150 punch card for 5-one hour floats I saved the last for worst. They *do* offer a monthly plan. when I joined, it was $30 for a 60 minute float. so, I purchasd two plans so I could at least float for two hours a month. Circumstances changed, and I left the account open with 2 hours "in the bank". So, I booked a two hour, actually two one-hour floats back to back during the week of my birthday. waaaaaaait a minnit! According to Craig, my account had been "dormant" for over a year, so evidently I had forfeited the $60 I had already paid to Silver Essence. Colleen, answered the telephone and was relaying this information via Craig and asked me "what do we have to do to get you in here for your float today? $ , as she was naming all kinds of prices such as "can you come in for $35? Can you come in for 25?" I told her the only way I would come in as if they honored the $60 that I had already paid and Craig was unwilling to do that. I had been a very good client in the past, sometimes booking 3 hour floats. I was a regular floater, and I won't go back there because it's obvious to the Silvers that their customers are just numbers in a ledger, and it's all about the $$$$ to them. read more

When I heard they built a sensory deprivation chamber in Williamsville I was thrilled. I didn't know anyone still used these things. My mind harkened back to Altered States with William Hurt getting into one and coming out a gorilla or Tim Leary and his zany crew jumping in with their mind blitzed on LSD. I immediately craved the romantic notion that I would go in besotted with cravings and desires and come out a different person. A person with an expanded consciousness, and a general state of zen-like calm. So being giddy like a school-girl I decided to tune in, turn on and drop out and I gave them a call. FYI it is very hard to get into Silver Spa as it gets booked fast, I had to wait a week. During that week, being excited as I was to go I told everyone. It is amazing the looks people give you when you tell them you are about to float for an hour in a sensory deprivation chamber. They thought I was insane for wasting my money. Well I didn't care...they would see when my consciousness was expanded and there's was still normal size!! Frankly, I expected an aging hippie to own the place, and to be surrounded by "healing gems." Instead, I was pleasantly surprised. Silver Floating Spa is set up like a typical spa, with a calming atmosphere and not a hint of patchoulie in there air. When I spoke with the owner she informed me that there were healing benefits to floating like relieving sore muscles. Turns out her Husband is quite handy and decided to build the entire space for her. So far the spa consists of two sensory deprivation rooms and one ultra-violet sauna (which is supposed to cleanse you). The rooms are kept immaculately clean. You get a small dressing room that leads into a shower and from the shower is another sliding door that leads into the deprivation chamber. I though I'd be jumping into a metal box like they do in the movies or in Fringe, but instead this was a small tile-filled room. This was a huge relief because I get very claustrophobic. The idea that someone could jam up the door on that chamber and lock me in would mess with my mind. For those fellow claustrophobes...fear not it is quite open. The chamber is filled without about 2 feet of water and is about 2 feet longer than my body lengthwise.* You are given a pair of wax earplugs to wear when you soak and I would highly recommend that you wear them. The procedure is that you strip, shower, hop in and eventually the lights go off...that is where the magic was supposed to begin. The water is body temperature, you can't see or hear a thing, and it is saturated with Epsom Salts which allow you to float at the top. Overall, the effect is quite peaceful. Lets just say that I'm glad I took the full hour to float because it probably took me about 40 minutes to acclimatize my body and mind to these foreign surroundings. At first it was the feeling that I was moving that was a bit unnerving. This was quickly followed by the feeling that water was seeping into my ears. When that finally went away my neck began to ache as a result of tensing it...so I had to let that go. I found it helpful to put my arms over my head to relieve the neck strain. When my body finally let go and I was comfortable my mind started up. It started with my breathing...with my ears underwater and stuffed with wax plugs it felt like I was in the tub with Darth Vader. All of my prior meditation techniques went out the window because my own breath was driving me nuts. To tell the truth after about 20 minutes I was totally ready to get the hell out of the chamber and go home sans expanded consciousness. But as I wrote above, I felt it was my solemn quest to tough it out, tell my mind to calm down and reap the benefits of a good soak. So I stayed...and I continued to hope for that inner vision which would open my mind to my possibilities, point out dharma and set me on the correct path. Well needless to say that didn't happen...like any good Buddhist will tell you craving will only set you farther from your path. What I will say though is that after that hour soak I felt AMAZING!! I mean ridiculously good. My feeling of ease and calm were only rivaled by some of the finer massages or intense Yoga sessions I have gone through. My mind was calm and clear...but still not giving me any answers to life's questions. Once the body and the mind stop, floating in the chamber is really quite amazing and a very unique experience. This is something that should be tried by others who are contemplating the deeper questions in their life. While I can not promise the chamber to answer your life questions, it certainly makes the quest more enjoyable. *Mind you I'm a lawyer not an engineer so don't give too much credence to my figures. Suffice it to say there's plenty of room for people of many sizes to float. read more

When I arrived at their location, I was a little confused. It appears to be a tiny boutique as soon as you turn the corner off Main St. Parking is the first driveway on the left. I had received a gift certificate from a friend via Groupon, and couldn't wait to try it out. I was able to schedule my appointment online and when I had to reschedule, due to the storm, again, I did it online. I was scheduled for both the infrared sauna and the 90 minute float, so it helped to have 2 windows open. I was looking forward to an afternoon of sheer bliss and I was not disappointed. I was greeted by Mary, the owner, who welcomed me with a warm smile and quickly gave me a tour. As I said earlier, it appears to be a small boutique. A welcoming reception area, tastefully decorated, led to the inner sanctum of peace and quiet. Behind the reception area, was a hallway. The rooms on either side held the infrared spas and floating pools. Additionally, each room had it's own shower and with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, washcloths, and even robes to wear from the sauna to the pool. The 1/2 hour sauna was more than enough time to warm the chill out of anyone. A TV is provided as well as a light dimmer to allow you to begin your relaxing journey. After 30 minutes, it was time for the pool. Grabbing my personal items, I walked down the hall and into my personal area. I slipped into the pool, turned off the lights, and was ready to float away to where ever my mind took me. For those of you who are not thrilled with dark, enclosed spaces, you do have an option to leave the fiber optic pool lights on. Trying to float with your arms at your side, is a lot of work. I highly recommend , as Mary stated to me, float with your arms above your head. And, ANY ONE can float! Personally, I recommend it to anyone with limited range of motion. I had a knot in my shoulder that pinched a nerve all the way down to my fingers, and I planned on seeing the chiropractor as soon as I could get it - after floating I didn't need to make that appointment! I know the sensory deprivation was meant to relax and rejuvenate. And it did. the only difference was I felt more energized afterward! I guess best way I can describe my floating experience was: I felt like a little kid in a huge tub! The water temp was perfect and the lack of noise was wonderful! I showered afterward - again, all soap, shampoo, conditioner and towels were provided. But I do recommend bringing your own blow dryer, although I didn't notice a plug. Leaving , I thanked Mary for the awesome time and continued on my day. I do recommend this to anyone who needs a break. Even if you don't book a full 90 minute slot, it is soooo worth it! read more

The staff here is absolutely wonderful, as is the waiting area and the facility in general - very clean and nice. Just to preface this review, I have floated in many other places before my few floats at Silver Essence. It was interesting to see they didn't have the traditional float "tanks" like many of the others I have been in. They've opted for more of a tiled small room approach which was nice. I will say a few things that might be taken as negative, but should be known. If you are interested in true sensory deprivation, this may not be the place for you. It's great for relaxing and doing a nice float, however, I could hear people talking as well as the lady in the adjacent float room taking a shower (even with my earplugs in and my head half immersed in water) There was a light shining through the entry way door to the float room which was distracting, that is, if you are looking for sensory deprivation. The temperatures weren't quite right - the air seemed a bit cooler than the water. In a true sensory deprivation tank, the water and the air in the enclosure both should be exactly at (or as close to) skin temperature as possible so you lose the perception of feeling and you aren't sure where the water ends and the air starts. The final thing that bothered me about my session is that I question their purification and filtration techniques. When I entered for my session I noticed wads of hair floating in the tub (gross) along with little pieces of something flat floating around (which I later identified as pieces of the floor sealant that was peeling off). The latter, not a big deal but the former - very disgusting. I'm wondering if they run a proper 15-20 minute cycle of high pressure filtration between sessions like others I've been to. While much of this may seem negative, I still give the place 3 stars as it's one of the only in the area, the staff is absolutely incredibly kind - can't emphasize that enough, and it really is a beautiful and peaceful facility. Just wish the tanks were a bit cleaner. I can deal with the rest of my issues. I likely will return though. read more

It was OK....definitely a different experience to try. I had a "living social deal" for a 90 m float....it was OK. The lights were neat but when I tried for the total darkness...the light from the door came through. Music would have been nice but it wasn't an option. The water was a bit chilly for my liking although it was supposed to be body temperature I would have preferred it a bit warmer. Again, it was OK....I don't feel any strong desire to go rushing back anytime soon. I definitely prefer an actual hands on massage. read more

This was my first ever experience floating . I was a bit nervous to be in complete darkness but from reviews I've seen on floating I was super excited to try it which outweighed my nervousness . My boyfriend and I did the first timers special which was a 90 minute float for just under $50 which seemed pretty reasonable. We were taken on a little tour and shown how to use the room where we were to float . After showering I stepped into the tank , I expected the water to be a little warmer than it was but it was comfortable. Ear plugs in and ready for the experience to take place, the lights went out and I started to relax . I began to drift off , after a while It almost became hard to breathe with the warm air . It was a little annoying. All in all it was a cool experience , I would definitely do it again . My achy back felt a lot better afterwards and it helps you relax and put the world on hold for a while which is very nice . read more

This was my first and definitely last float experience. It was recommended by a friend for relaxation so figured I would try it. I could not relax no matter how hard I tried and I felt like I was in a watery grave despite the openness of the float pool. The water was only lukewarm at best. It was too creepy all you could hear was the water moving and in the darkness it was just too much. I ended up siting for the majority of the session because I was too freaked out. When I did doze off though I would wake and instantly be creeped out again. Thanks but no thanks! Ill take my massages from now on. read more

Went here and really enjoyed a float with my then-girlfriend. Definitely an interesting experience... I fell asleep near the end of it. The people working were really nice and the facilities were pristine. Privacy was really emphasized and they had really comfy robes. Would go again if I lived in Buffalo! read more

This place is beautiful. Very relaxing and clean and so interesting! I did the infrared sauna first then the float. I've done infrared sauna before, but nothing like this. I was shown how to use everything and encouraged to let them know if I needed any help or had any questions. I like that there were towels and robes in the rooms to use. The sauna is roomy and there is a TV in there to watch but I recommend either trying to meditate or reading a good book. After 30 mins in the infrared sauna, I went in to the float room. I rinsed off in the shower first and then got into the tub. As promised, the water is body temperature and feels so silky because of the salt. I thought there was no way I could float in only a few inches of water, but because of the epsom salt you do! I was shown how to turn the light on or off- it's a blue and green light that changes and is soothing but I chose to have the room completely dark. I went in for 90 minutes and definitely knew when I was done. I probably would float for less time in the future- everyone is different though. I don't know if I fell asleep or was just in such a relaxed state but I definitely felt good during and after. I walked out of there a lot lighter than I came in, that's all I know. A wonderfully relaxing experience. I normally do a combination of infrared sauna and float. Each room is private consisting of a small changing area, a shower, and then either the float tank or sauna. The infrared sauna is nice. There are controls for the lights and a tv so you can choose to zone out in the heat in darkness/quiet or watch tv for your session. I get nice and warmed up, loosening up my muscles. Afterwards I move on to the float part of the session. Each room has towels and bathrobes so I can move right into one of the floating tanks without having to get fully changed again. I normally bring my own ear plugs but they do provide wax for you to use as well as vaseline to put over any scratches or cuts (yes you are floating in salt water so these will sting if you have any...it goes away after a while but can be uncomfortable for a short time) so I don't recommend shaving immediately before you go for a float. The float tanks are nice. They are filled with a few inches of water pumped filled with salts so you are completely buoyant. The water is temperature controlled at a very tepid feel; I wish it was warmer but I love things being overly warm. It is comfortable and relaxing. The tank has fiberoptic light in the water surrounding the perimeter of the tank; you can leave this on or flip off to complete darkness. It's an interesting experience as you can completely relax your body into the water; letting go of all tension. I always leave feeling really relaxed and calm. The owners are very nice; sometimes can seem a little disorganized but have always been extremely helpful and kind. I really should go more often. I would say this kind of treatment isn't for everyone and you will probably love it or hate it but I highly recommend it. read more
