$9 for 2 orange juices with breakfast should have been the first clue. The flavors do not mesh well on a lot of dishes. My chicken and waffles for $16.99 was less than impressive and the apple pie stuffed French toss was a big miss. I cannot say the food was bad just nothing I would need again especially for the price. The atmosphere was very nice with the 50s style diner vibe. Love that they revamped this old school diner to include vegetarian, vegan, and overall healthier options. I got the miso beyond burger and the wasabi cream on it was so good! We also ordered the Just egg Benedict and it was really nice, as well as the beyond taco platter! All healthy and filling, but we didn't feel huge after and it didn't weigh us down. Definitely try this place out for the true old school diner feel with a more inclusive menu! read more

I don't live in Frederick, but stay here when I am traveling for work in the area. I love love love this diner. The few times I have stayed at one of the hotels in the area, I always make it a point to eat several times here. Everything that I've had thus far has been excellent. Albeit, it's diner food, but it's great diner food. Pastrami sandwich is awesome. Tuna melt is awesome. Salmon Caesar Salad is awesome. You can also exchange the fries for roasted vegetables which is pretty awesome as well. read more

VEGANS! They recently added TWELVE new vegan entrees!! Vegan eggs Benedict, vegan stir fry, the Beyond burger, cauliflower macaroni and cheese with Beyond Meat meatballs, tofu and lentils, roasted veggie ciabatta, and the list goes on! They still have their mango hibiscus soy milkshake as well. So many fresh combinations that are amazing to see, and with more customizable meals than ever! They're even offering tempeh bacon as a breakfast "meat" and offering JUST brand eggs. This is a huge plus for Silver Diner from me. The new menu isn't necessarily made of meals I would try (yet), as I am very picky (but expanding my horizons!), but the new items are very thought out and crafted with health in mind, not sloppily put together and much more thoughtful than only offering side salads and fruit cups as many other dining establishments have done. Ok, let's get this out of the way right from the start; the food was GOOD. We stopped in Frederick for a late breakfast on our way home from the DC airport. The reviews for this place were good and hubby wanted pancakes. 1. Pancakes very very yummy. Flavorful, hot, not doughy. I added pecans to mine. 2. Chicken for the fried chicken & waffles was super tender juicy and fresh ( it was evident). 3. I had a watermelon margarita (the ginger gave it a kick). Bar menu looked.pretty extensive. 4. Kudos for options of non-pork or beef breakfast meats. 5. Portions were perfect (but we were starved, hence no pics) Everyone in our party had bk items, however, the menus is huge. Tons of choices. Our wait was very short, about 5 mins. The place was busy and there is old school jukebox music playing, but I didn't find it annoying. We sang along. Nice little bonus, today they had an old school car show on the parking lot. Very cool. We have to go back. read more

Wow! The website isn't kidding about "a whole new culinary level." I'd been to the Rockville one way back when, before it moved to Federal Plaza and the food was pretty good (loved the shakes). It was typical diner food back then, though probably higher quality than most diners, but NOW...it really is at a whole other level. It was clear the food was prepared with care. Everything we had was delicious: chicken fried steak and eggs, the Merguez Benedict (English muffin, lamb merguez sausage, baby spinach, cage-free Amish eggs over easy, tahini harissa yogurt, hollandaise, feta, basil), and the banana stuffed French toast. We were really stuffed ourselves and had to pack up some of the banana French toast that absolutely could not go to waste. The chicken fried steak was great. It's often not made quite the way I like it and the way they do in Texas but Silver Diner hit the mark - not too much batter and not overly fried. I had the eggs over easy and that's how I got them. Most places they usually end up over medium. The biscuit was flaky and not too dry and the home fries were crispy and tender at the same time. The Merguez Benedict was fantastic. I've never had lamb Merguez sausage before and I can't believe I've missed out on this my whole life. The eggs Benedict had all the ingredients just right so you could taste all the ingredients together, with now one item overwhelming the other parts. The banana stuffed French toast was not only delicious but the presentation was really nice as well. The toast was perfectly fried with a softer (but not too soft) center. I love French toast and was so happy with this order. I foresee myself craving this. Oh and the guava mint mimosa is a must try. I know - this is gettin' into fancy brunch mimosa territory. Silver Diner has outdone itself. Like I said, seriously a whole other level. Service was also fantastic. Our server was a younger kid who was incredibly polite and attentive. I'll definitely go back to this location again. Great place for brunch - always has been and now even more so. It can compete with some of those fancier brunch places with long waits, especially if you're looking for some good food and good service. We stopped by for dinner on Friday August 4 around 7:30pm. The Silver Diner is always a good option and the one in Fredrick did not disappoint. The food and drinks came out without us wondering where it was. But really what made our meal was our server, Brittin. The three words I would use to describe him would be congenial, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. He was conscientious of his customers and knows the menu inside and out. His suggestions were excellent, including giving us half the dessert now and the other half for the road. We are so thankful for his service and attentiveness that we had to put a review. When we head up that way, we will make sure to stop by and ask for a table in his section. read more

The food was pretty good. Wife had the asian rice bowl with shrimp and said it was in the top 3 salads she has ever had. I had a burger that was fine. We will be back. The 2 downsides had to do with service. We sat for 10 minutes without a "I'll be right with you". I had to get the hostess to assign the table to a waiter. Second, the waiter was okay in that he got the order right but never came back to the table after the meal was served. I needed another drink we finished our meal and had to leave without another drink and desert due to the long wait for the waiter. No pun intended. This is service 101 and meant to be constructive criticism to outline training issues. BTW, there was one other table across from us that had the same wait staff issue. Maybe just a one day blip at lunch on Tuesday, 3/15/22. 4-6-2022 update. Had lunch there 2 more times and it was great. Wife was happy and so was I with the food and the service. Came here with some friends after a long day exploring D.C. I was staying just outside of Frederick and we were hankering for a late night bite and since this place opens late we decided on Silver Diner. The place looks like your typical old fashioned diner but what makes it extra special is each table is accompanied by a small jukebox. For just a quarter you can select a song from the menu and it'll be played throughout the restaurant in the order selected. How neat! They have a vast menu ranging from pasta dishes, burgers, chicken and waffles, turkey dinner, and breakfast. From my two visits here, I've tried the lamb Marquez burger and the spinach turkey burger with goat cheese. The burgers are cooked medium and are so delicious! The ingredients are very fresh and everything is cooked well. I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing our food came out as well as the accommodating service. The second time we came here my friend ordered a steak dish and being a fan of meat, wanted her steak cooked rare. To her disappointment it came back medium. We told our server and she apologized and brought it back to the kitchen where they made a new one for her even though my friend was hungry and wouldn't have minded eating it anyway. The manager or owner (wasn't sure) came at our table to personally apologize and gave her a voucher for a free entree on her next visit as well as another free order of fries that comes with the steak. They brought back the new steak and it was perfect. When we got our checks they didn't charge her for her meal. While they did not have to do all that just for a small mistake we appreciated how they addressed it. This place will definitely be a staple for the next time I'm in the area. I can't speak for the other locations but I highly recommend the Frederick Silver Diner. The food and service is amazing here. read more

They were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Things I don't Love * Small Portions The amount of coleslaw that they served me was laughable. Like, it could have fit inside of a ketchup packet. Also, if I were them, I would not put craisans in my coleslaw, but I understand some people like that *ish; but be forewarned. 1 More Thing I Love: When your delivery gets there earlier than expected. Food was fast and service was good. Food was not. Ordered fish and chips and the fries were dead cold. The fish was just okay, but you can't reheat fish well so I only ate a bit and left the rest. To add insult to injury the bill was a lot more than the quality of food. With so many other Frederick options I guarantee I won't be back to this spot. We had build your burgers with bison as the meat: very juicy burgers, perfectly cooked with a tin of crisp French fries. Everything presented nicely. The service was efficient and Kayla, our waitstaff person, was attentive and helpful! The menu is extensive. There is something for everyone and every type of eating from gluten free to vegetarian to counting calories. It is sparkling clean and genuinely welcoming. Definitely a go to place for us whenever we are in Frederick! Update: went back for lunch with friends. Equally great time. We had the rib eye philly steak sandwich with cole slaw and sweet potato fries! Excellent. Two half sandwiches: turkey club and margherita on ciabatta. Just glorious and each half full of flavorful sauces. Another juicy bison burger in the build your own burger category. The desserts were a mini hot fudge sunday! YES? A diner with local meats and fresh ingredients? SOLD. I visit Silver Diner at least twice a month with my brother. It's always a toss up...breakfast or burgers? We ALWAYS get milkshakes. I always leave full. I've never been disappointed in the food. Sundays can be insane. Get there before the church crowd! However weeknights we never seem to have a wait. The only problem is when the bill comes and my brother and I fight over whose turn it is to pay. Prices are up there for a diner...but you can't beat the quality! read more

Again, for 20yrs of dining, customer service stands out as supreme! Any issue (legit... dont abuse it!) just mention and they will take care of your food or on a return trip. HUGE menu, always fresh and tastes great.
