I have been here several times and the food has been hit or miss. However, the service has been great each time.

It's a chain diner and not bad. Service was slow here because the place was jam packed on a Saturday morning. We could barely get our waitresses attention. If I had to chose between Silver Diner and Denny's I'd probably pick Denny's, but that's just me. There wasn't anything that was "amazing" here in my book. read more

Every time I come up here to visit my sister before starting my seasonal contract work I always make the effort to go to Silver Diner for breakfast. This time I had the Avocado toast and egg breakfast and they just blew it out of the park with this one. Absolutely amazing breakfast. The toast was just bursting with flavor. The scent of olive oil and the salt just keeps you wanting more and the scrambled eggs I had with it just one of the freshest eggs I've had out of any place I have been too. First time here and we had a great breakfast!! Western omelet with cheddar cheese, potatoes and biscuits - delish! Egg scramble with sausage, mushrooms, peppers, potatoes, covered with gravy - yes please! I would have liked more egg in it and the potatoes cut up smaller, but the flavor was great! And it came with fruit and 2 small pancakes. Service with Carolyn was fantastic! She was very good and told us about the rewards program. The only thing that would have made it better would be to see teamwork among the staff. Many people standing around while tables were dirty, etc. read more

My friend and I ate breakfast at the Silver Diner today. Maria was an excellent server. She took care of us with plenty of coffee and a welcoming personality. The food was great. I had an omelette and my friend had French toast. We were seated immediately. Everyone was friendly. We plan to go back because the menu had other things we want to try and we liked the ambiance. I didn't expect a diner to have any vegan/vegetarian food at all but I was pleasantly surprised the miso burger is definitely a must try and the cauliflower Sandwich is a good choice for sure. First and last time at this crud place. Food is nothing special and the service from the waiter was terrible. We sat at our table for 30-35 minutes with hangry kids before we even got to order food. Then, it took another 30-40 minutes for the food to actually get to our table. I had to flag our waiter a couple times to ask where our food was, and he responded the rudest way possible saying, "You saw me put the order in didn't you, we're busy, just sit tight!" The waiter then spoke to the manager who approached our table ONLY to make sure we were ok after it took over an hour to actually have food on the table. Before finishing, I went to the restroom and on the way back, I heard the waiter speaking to his coworker saying, "You see that motherfucker in that shirt, fuck him." I brought this up to the manager but he only defended the employee. Picked up my kids and guests and left. This is why it's only silver diner Nowhere near Gold! read more

This place is amazing. I don't normally go to diners because I am a food snob but the food was excellent. I am on a very limited diet for health reasons and normally ask a lot of questions about the food before I order. The staff here was very gracious about answering questions and they have many healthy options like gluten and dairy free which really surprised me and made helpful suggestions. I got the warm roasted veggie salad with shrimp added--veggies warm and perfectly cooked as were the shrimp (also deveined). Huge salad for a reasonable price. I was hoping not to write a yelp review like this but rather give this location a third chance and opportunity to provide good food and service. My visit today was to get a seafood meal and I was not expecting to encounter the quality of service when I arrived. I stood at the counter waiting for service while three of the employees engaged in a conversation about sports... One of them had his back turned to me while the other two were turned sideways to me. I know for a fact that at least one of them saw me. So when one of them got up to "help someone else" then came back and sat down I raised my hands in frustration for someone to help me. He then rang up my order and got my food with which I considered a very mild mannered, somewhat strange customer service. When I got in and saw how the meal was plated, to my surprise It was in a cardboard container, wet and soggy in the middle. For some reason my mashed potatoes was put in a cardboard container with a dish that has sauce around it. The taste of the food was not what I expected. This meal had five parts to it and only two out of the five parts were somewhat tasty. The mashed potatoes tasted like salmon because it was placed under the salmon. The salmon had no flavor/good seasoning to it although it was called "Cajun". The asparagus were awful in taste. It appears that Silver diner has all of the "parts" to make a meal look really great in presentation, but when it comes to flavor and taste this particular meal was not good at all. We went to Silver Diner for a late breakfast (aka brunch). There were a good amount of people waiting in the entry and even past the hostess stand for a table. We were surprised when they told us it was only a 10-15 minute wait. We ended up waiting just about that amount of time, which was great. Our waitress was Christen. She was professional and had good recommendations for menu items. She checked on us while we were enjoying our meals and did not rush us out. You'll be happy if you get one of her tables! By the way, the large orange juice (20oz) is huge! I recommend this Silver Diner for a meal any time of day. Prices are reasonable and food is good. read more

I ordered the family breakfast platter which is supposed to feed several people via door dash. I also ordered two other dishes. My breakfast order was over$100 dollars. When It was delivered I found out I was robbed. They barely gave me enough eggs and potato's for two people let alone a family. No sausage was added at all. To be fair I have ordered this several times and it never came in with these kind of low portions that offer zero value for price paid. I take it the cook did not care much and was just rushing and there was no quality control apparently. I'm very upset and disappointed to put it lightly. read more

My wife and I went here for breakfast and it was wonderful. My wife had the Greek yogurt breakfast and was impressed with the abundance of fresh quality fruit. The apple butter that came with her sour dough toast was excellent. I went the less healthy route and ordered the country fried steak and eggs and it was well worth it. Only downside side is they were temporarily out of biscuits so I got sour dough toast instead which was still very good. Our server Jorge made it up by bringing biscuits by once they were freshly baked. Will definitely go back when in the area. We were told up front there would be a 20-30 minute wait, however we were seated within 15-20 minutes so that was good. The server, Julie, was very upbeat and friendly, eager to take our order. The food arrived very quickly much to our suprise, was hot and delicious. Actually looked like food that could be photographed it was that nicely presented. Unlike food that had been thrown together in a hurry and pushed out on a plate. I made a point of looking around at all of the employees and they all had smiles and looked happy to be helping customers. Overall good atmosphere and the customer service was a pleasant surprise to the increasing lack of customer service in the retail & food industry. My husband and I were very impressed right as we entered the restaurant. The young lady who seated us was extremely polite and opened our menus up for us. Our waiter, Anthony N. was polite, professional and didn't even write down our order. He did not miss a thing. Then the food was absolutely delicious and was so fresh tasting. The first time I went to the Silver Diner, I had the best Philly cheesesteak that I've ever had. Since then, I haven't been able to match the pizzazz of the first experience. The other dishes are mostly but taste kind of bland and flavorless. I have to hand it to them though, they really nailed the 1950s diner theme with a modern twist, it's charming. Something for everyone Silver Diner has a wonderfully diverse menu of classic diner food with vegetarian & vegan options and a lovely array of locally sourced menu items. Their menu has a great variety of gluten free choices, and the staff has worked with us to find items that meet the restrictions of my daughter's food allergies. While I have enjoyed meals at many Silver Diner locations, Frederick is my family's absolute favorite. The staff is friendly and the food never disappoints. read more

A few new seasonal specials as of June 2022. One of them, shrimp with pesto white beans was one of the tastiest entrees I've ever had at Silver Diner - seriously. I enjoyed every single bite. I just wish they had jumbo shrimp instead of the medium sized shrimp that they use. The chili is excellent too. I noticed that they now have a tomato bisque listed as well. I'll have to check that out next time. Service, as always, was outstanding on this last outing and looking forward to my next visit. read more

First let me say every single dish we had was absolutely wonderful. Hands down one of the best places to grab a bite in Frederick, MD. A very diverse menu and friendly staff, I didn't expect it to have any vegan/vegetarian food or wine and beer at all but I was pleasantly surprised of how good the chicken soup was and it is definitely a must try and the shrimp and grits is a good choice for sure. The food and service from staff were excellent. It has a nice modern take on a diner with a lot better food than most. Love that there are a lot of menu options and that there are options made with fresh ingredients instead of traditional fried food. This place was super fun! We came on a great Sunday morning for brunch. We had to wait a bit but the energy was great and we were seated pretty quickly in a lovely little booth. I ordered one of the specials, shrimp and grits. It was way over-the-top, more like a shrimp étouffée with the teeniest mound of grits. All sauce. It was heavily seasoned and more like a dinner entrée then a breakfast item. Seasoning was strong, create all, salty, spicy.... my not ready for daytime stomach did not really approve of this menu item. My chicken and waffles for $16.99 was less than impressive and the apple pie stuffed French toss was a big miss.
