We visited Silver City KOA last weekend and are still having withdrawals! I am not a huge fan of camping but was happy to stay in their deluxe cabin, which has an AC unit and was the perfect amount of space for my husband and two small children. There was one full size bed with 1 bunkbed with a bathroom and shower. There was also a fridge, toaster, microwave and a coffee maker. There are 8-9 cabins total and space for RVs to park. The campground felt safe for the kids to run around, which brought my normal anxiety level down. It was nice that the kids were tablet free because there were endless amounts of games and activities to do in their game room such as PacMan, Foosball, and Ping Pong. There is also a playground with an open field to run around, a sandbox and a basketball court. Then there's the gift shop. We almost bought the entire store from all the cool apparel, accessories, souvenirs and gifts that were there. What made the whole experience worth it were the hosts, Josh and Mary. They treated us like we were family and were very hospitable. Although our trip was short, we were able to check out downtown and visit the City of Rocks, which is about a 30 min drive from the campground. Parking is $5 for the day. I would definitely come back to Silver City KOA annually! read more

Silver City did it again!! This time we stayed in the deluxe cabin and we loved it!!! Everything was clean and organized!! Fresh cookies at the front desk! The staff was welcoming and friendly . We recently stayed at a high tourist KOA and there was no comparison , Silver City still beat them by a landslide!! The Wi-Fi works beautifully, they even have a walking path , a spacious clean pool and a rec room for the kids!! We will definitely be staying here again, no question!! read more

If I could give them more starts I would. I stayed here for about 3 1/2 months while my house was being repaired from a fire and all I have to say is this is the cleanest KOA I've ever been to as well as the staff are the most professional and friendliest people I've ever meet. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable through the duration of my stay. I couldn't have chosen a better better place to stay. Thank you silver city KOA! Facility was decent and cabins were clean/okay but check in/out process was more difficult than it had to be, office hours were extremely limited, and internal communication seems non existent and they have a predatory cancellation policy.10/10 would not recommend. read more

There was a marriage retreat in Silver City and we were so grateful this KOA was so close to it. I will admit that the cabins are very beautiful, the grounds well maintained and there is a lot of things to do for camping families. My husband and I were super impressed. There was an inconvenience where I booked a month in advance and I got called a few times to see if I was willing to stay in a different cabin since there was a guest that wanted the cabin I was renting. I said yes and they upgraded us for free. The cabin itself was very luxurious and spacious. However, the blind's in the bedroom were broken and people could look in. I ended up having to put a towel in the hole so I could change and not feel like my privacy was being encroached. The other thing was the heater in the room was very loud and if you are a light sleeper, it wakes you up constantly during the night. Other then that, we definitely enjoyed our time. My husband and I have stayed at many KOAs and by far this one was our favorite. The staff are very nice and helpful on silver city activities. They left the recreation room open longer for us due to it was winter and snowing. This was unexpected and very sweet of the staff. The tent site was great, plenty of room with a little privacy. Their bathrooms are spotless and warm. They have great looking cabins and so festive for the holidays. Loved this place and wont mind coming back here again. read more

Enjoyed my stay here. Staff was very friendly. Have a small store but with very sparse selection at the time. (Dinner was chicken noodle soup and tortilla chips!) I understand it's more fully stocked during the season, and I was there at the tail-end. A combination of groceries, camping needs, souvenirs. They have a snack bar and group eating area a short skip from the pool. According to their website this is open for pie & ice cream socials from May 1st - Labor Day. Pool likewise is open May-Sept. The location can be VERY hard to spot at night. I got there after dark and they had not lit up their sign. I could not tell that I was allowed to cross the highway and go down the driveway that sits lower than the road (for all I knew I was just going to drive right off a cliff!) I had to pull over after passing it and call to make sure I was going the right way. They were apologetic about the sign not being on (the time had JUST changed and it is evidently on a timer) but they weren't terribly pro-active about it; I guess they get few enough travelers at that time that it typically isn't a problem. Highly, highly, highly recommend! Staying at the KOA can be a trip in and of itself; there is a basketball court and little park onsite, there are trails around the area, there is bird watching, they have a variety of activities going during the season, and it fits nicely into that vacation area between hotels and camping. (I love to camp, but I'm a BIG fan of showers. lol) Each cabin can fit a family easily, with one big bed and one bunk bed. I stayed the night however and then spent the day in the Gila Forest. Staff was able to make some recommendations to me (including to eat at the Living Harvest Bakery while I was in Mimbres. Mmmmmmm!) and they have brochures and maps of the local area. **REMEMBER** when you stay at KOA you bring your own bedding!! Definitely if this is your first time to a KOA, check out their website, make sure you bring a map and their phone number with you, and consider giving them a call first to make sure you have ALL the info you need before you get there! read more

I love this place. Definitely the best value overall. Conveniently located on the edge of town a smooth paved road takes your rv to the park which is adjacent to a very scenic and natural setting. Wifi network is solid. Distracting sounds were at a minimum both day and night. You get A LOT of well thought out and little nice finishing touches, well maintained, clean, amenities for an extremely low price. Dude, I did laundry and flipped through hundreds of channels on a big screen tv all while sitting on a big comfy plush leather couch! Get this- I could see my laundry washing in the machine from the couch! The bathrooms were spotless. Lots of staff going above and beyond, working hard every day to keep you happy. You could text them and they will bring you ice and what not right to your site! Free snacks and things in the store at all times. Spacious sites with beautiful scenery surrounding you. I have stayed at about 15 different KOAs so far and this is definitely my favorite. It is also the best in Silver City. I sniffed around a few other nearby RV places but they weren't even in the same league. This place is definitely the best overall. I would definitely stay here again. read more

We love this campground! We have been going here for nearly a decade. We've stayed in all options. We started with the modest Kabin. It is just what we needed when we were planning to be out and about. We then started staying in the delux cabins...we have stayed in all of them. We have graduated to our own trailer and spot 53 or 59 are our favorites! Our kids love this campground. They ride their bikes and play on the playground. They also love a trip into town to Penny Park. This is, perhaps, the cleanest campground facilities we've seen. John and Kris are fantastic camp hosts. We have seen the end result of all they've put into the place since they bought it some time ago. They always have great folks working with them. Ray and Joann are some of our favorite people! The Silver City KOA will always be a favorite place for our family to camp! read more

My husband and I are KOA members and have stayed at many KOA campgrounds and this one is by far is our most favorite. The owners are amazing and really care a lot about thier business. Everything is spotless and the bathroom and showers are so clean with so many extras like towel bars and hooks plus blow dryer for you hair. Laundry area is clean with newer machines. Pool and pond with geese and ducks plus a great play ground for the kiddos. RV spaces are spaced so you are not on top of one another. Dog park for the pups is so fun for them they won't want leave. The bad reviews on here are so unbelievable to us they must be fake because we have an older RV and the owners were so nice to us. Guess you can't make everyone happy as we were. read more

A fellow Rv'er called this KOA to make a month long reservation and when the OWNER was informed the RV is a 2009 27 foot Keystone Cougar the owner told her that their RV was "NOT nice enough to stay at the park". Even if this was because if a 10 year age rule it would require that the RV be 10 years old, which 2009 + 10 is 2019. Guess if you aren't in a new RV you aren't allowed in this koa, which just by the photos you aren't missing out on anything special. read more

We stayed here in the middle of a three week roadtrip when we were as far from home as possible and got a flat tire. Joe, the owner, helped us change the tire at closing time when he didn't have to. They recommended and offered a different camp site than the one we booked that would be closer to the bathrooms since we weren't in an RV, even though it was slightly cheaper than the one we had initially booked. The owners are friendly, honest, and keep great care of the place. Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area. read more

The playground is really nice, and there is even a dog park that exceeded my expectations (they have agility equipment in there). The swimming pool is sparkling clear! The restrooms are super clean! we stayed in site 52; clean campground, bathroom and overall facility. we didn't have a fire pit in our site and asked for one; they immediately brought one over from the high end sites which no one was in which I thought was very nice. This is our second time here and will make this our go to area when we are in Silver city. Everyone was very nice and made our stay here an A++ read more

Great spot and beautiful, well kept campground. My husband and I got a deluxe rv site pull through, which came with a large patio and dining table along with fire pit. It was so worth it. We arrived kind of late because of our long travels, but the owner/ manager was super accommodating. They called us before hand to tell us where our paperwork would be because the office closed at 6. They have firewood for sale and ice for a very reasonable price. Great little playground for kids and the bathrooms are super clean! The new owner let me finish up my laundry till 930pm even though it closed at 8. Super welcoming place and they are doing a great job at maintaining this cute little campground. read more

We like camping in our fifth at this campground and it is especially nice because it is well-kept and has a really friendly staff. Everyone working on the campground is so helpful. We came over Labor Day weekend and it was quite busy, but the staff handled everything beautifully. This is where we decided to stay to see the catwalk and the taste of silver city over the weekend. We came last year as well and the service is consistent. Breakfast was served in the mornings which made it very convenient. In the evenings they had socials...one night they showed hybrid wolves and the other night they had homemade apple pie with ice cream. It is a kid friendly environment. read more

Rude, unprofessional, no privacy, doesn't like dogs, doesn't allow locals or families of locals. If you like your every move being watched this is the place to go. Be sure to check into the office immediately upon arrival or the owner will literally chase you down and probably throw you off the property for not adhering to the strict rules. If you have family thay lives in the local vicinity don't disclose that information or they won't allow you to stay there. On the plus side it's has a nice gift shop with inflated prices, propane tank refills, wild life such as deer, ducks, and quail. Nice pond, pretty scenery. Owners pretty much ruin the whole experience though. Overrated! read more

One of my best KOA experiences. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We stayed in a Deluxe Cabin with a bathroom, fridge and microwave. It was very clean and equiped with linens and towels at no charge even though the website said there was a charge for linens. The beds were very comfortable, but the pillows are pretty hard. The layout of the campground was cute and cozy. It didn't have that usual KOA concrete vibe. The property was littered with regional plant landscaping and access to great hiking trails to vista views. The dog park was a favorite hangout for guests with dogs and had good activity stations. We had pizza delivered from a nearby Pappa Johns one night, not realizing that pizza could be ordered from the office store. However, we ordered so late that I am not sure if the office could take an order that late. We enjoyed the grass volleyball area and net. The lake on the property was fenced off, but attracted great birds. The staff was so very friendly. My daughter lost a ring in the grass near the volleyball net, and the grounds keeper offered to go and get a metal detector from a local friend to help us find it. read more

Our first KOA (first RVing, actually) experience, and we are blown away. The amenities are beyond anything we expected, the staff friendliness and hospitality are unparalleled. Lots of wildlife (non-human, that is -- deer, rabbits, quail, a road-runner, little lizards, and ducks & geese on a pond on the property). We went late in the season, after school had started, and the clientele was mostly older and very quiet -- can't say the same for their dogs, but even they observed the quiet time of 10 pm to 7 am. If this is what KOA is like, we're sold. read more

ZERO stars.The people that run this place would not honor our cabin reservation, due to the breed of our dogs. It is stupid people like these, that feed into the whole aggressive breed myth. Any one with half a brain knows, it is a proven fact that breed has nothing to do with behavior.These people were rude and nasty to us.The then became outright hostile and asked us to leave, when I suggested they compensate us with a free weekend for our trouble.I believe their hostility to be homophobic based, as we are a gay couple, but that's another issue. The owners and staff of this place are vile, repugnant people, to leave us late at night, out in the middle of nowhere, without a place to stay. We are avid KOA travelers and out of the many we have stayed at, there has never been a breed restriction. I guess it is up to the individual franchise owner, but any moron with money can buy a franchise. read more
